I wrote previously how the “F Joe Biden” chant made it live to NASCAR. The media tried to spin it as the crowd chanting “Let’s go, Brandon” — the name of the driver, Brandon Brown, who won the NASCAR Xfinity Series race in Talladega. Americans then mocked the media, making “Let’s go Brandon” trend on Twitter, and even Brown himself made reference to the chant.

When they start arresting people for the F... Joe Biden chant, people should claim that they were really saying "Let's Go Brandon!" You do not hear the F-bomb in the South except for very rare occasions. The natives are seriously restless. But before the Republicans start counting their votes they should come down here and talk to those same voters. Republicans need to start DOING things (e.g. DeSantis attacking Silicon Valley) so that people don't think the silent GOP is fixing to not quite be able to overturn anything. Again.

Florida fugitive Brian Laundrie’s sister told protesters outside her Lakewood Ranch home Monday that her family has been ignoring her following the disappearance of her brother and the death of his fiancée. When asked if her parents were helping Brian Laundrie evade authorities, she said, "I don't know" and that she hadn't been able to speak with them. "I'm in the boat where I'm getting ignored by my family and thrown under the bus by my family's attorney," Cassie Laundrie said to a group of protesters Monday in video shared by TikTok user @chroniclesofolivia. The lawyer Laundrie seemed to be...

Two senior U.S. diplomats met face to face with leaders in Haiti this week as the Biden administration looks to stabilize its approach to the island nation and calm pressures from home. Brian Nichols, President Joe Biden’s newly confirmed assistant secretary of state for Western Hemisphere affairs, and Juan Gonzalez, National Security Council senior director, arrived in Port-au-Prince Thursday after a stop in Miami. There, they met with Haitian and Cuban American leaders to discuss the challenges facing both of their countries. “We’re not going there to impose a solution or road map. We’re going there to listen, and particularly...

Northwell Health, New York's largest hospital system, announced Monday that it fired 1,400 workers for refusing to be vaccinated against COVID-19. State of play: Northwell Health said it took a "rapid, aggressive approach" to reach 100% vaccination among its staff, the company said in a statement Monday. Doing so would enable them to “provide exceptional care at all of our hospitals, without interruption and enable all our facilities to remain open and fully operational." The company employees more than than 76,000 workers, the New York Times reports. As of Monday, 87% of the state's 450,000 hospital workers have been vaccinated,...

The Biden administration is warning China over its increasing provocations against Taiwan, a critical flashpoint amid the ongoing poor relations between Washington and Beijing. Taiwan raised the alarm after Chinese warplanes violated its airspace nearly 150 times over the course of about four days, leaving top Taiwanese — and some American — officials worried about a military confrontation. “We urge Beijing to cease its military, diplomatic, and economic pressure and coercion against Taiwan, and we have an abiding interest in peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait. That’s why we will continue to assist Taiwan in maintaining a sufficient self-defense...

Individuals who are diagnosed with high blood pressure at ages 35-44 had smaller brain size and were more likely to develop dementia compared to people who had normal blood pressure. The results raise the possibility that taking steps in young adulthood to control or delay the onset of high blood pressure may reduce the risk of dementia. In each diagnostic age category (from 35 to 54), the total brain volume was smaller in people with high blood pressure, and the brain volume of several regions were also smaller compared to the participants who did not have high blood pressure; Hypertension...

Is filming women in a private restroom simply a procedural hang-up when trying to pass massive legislation? Twitter Ever wonder why President Biden doesn’t take questions very often? Or more accurately, why his staff doesn’t allow him to take questions? The easy lay-up handed to him about an altercation between an activist organization and Arizona senator Kyrsten Sinema offers a perfect example. Biden was asked whether he believes it was appropriate for immigration activists to follow Sinema into a women’s restroom and film her. The President, who could have resoundingly condemned the behavior using the podium of the presidency of...

Covid-19 is once again in retreat. The reasons remain somewhat unclear, and there is no guarantee that the decline in caseloads will continue. But the turnaround is now large enough — and been going on long enough — to deserve attention. The number of new daily cases in the U.S. has fallen 35 percent since Sept. 1:Worldwide, cases have also dropped more than 30 percent since late August. “This is as good as the world has looked in many months,” Dr. Eric Topol of Scripps Research wrote last week. These declines are consistent with a pattern that regular readers of this newsletter will...

Google’s doodle on Friday “celebrated” ethno-nationalist La Raza activist Rodolfo Gonzales boasting about his “pure blood” and refusal to assimilate into America. “I am the masses of my people and I refuse to be absorbed,” the Google doodle said. “My faith unbreakable, my blood is pure.” The doodle features buttons for “Aztlan,” a movement that advocates for Hispanics to reconquer the southern United States (La Reconquista), and “Chicano Power.” Gonzales brought together militant youth from street gangs, ex-convicts and assorted young Hispanics for the first ever “Chicano Youth Liberation Conference.” “Chicano youth believed that for Mexican Americans to be instilled...

This Morning: Francis Celebrates Regime-Compatible Inter-ReligionFrancis met in the morning of October 4 at the Vatican with the controversial Constantinople Patriarch Bartholomew, the Anglican Primate Justin Welby, and other representatives of false religions, in anticipation of the November 12 UN Climate Change Conference.Even the pro-Francis IlSismografo noted that the Dalai Lama, the leader of the Tibetan Buddhist tradition, was missing. Why? Because for several years Francis has been bowing to the Chinese ban that prevents the Dalai Lama’s presence at inter-religion summits. It’s true that Francis prefers climate religion to Catholicism, but even more important for him is opportunism.

If a violent riot intended to keep a president in power weren’t enough, there have been plenty of other instances since Jan. 6 offering evidence of Republicans’ historic anti-democratic assault on the country. On Sunday, Rep. Madison Cawthorn, R-N.C., added to the list of examples when he tweeted a video calling on “American Christians” to “stand against tyranny” and join a battle for “God’s inherent truths that predate any version of government.” The video featured remarks he made last month at the North Carolina Faith & Freedom Coalition’s Salt & Light Conference. Cawthorn is a Trump loyalist who has repeatedly...

White House press secretary Jen Psaki picked up where President Joe Biden left off Monday in hammering Senate Republicans for blocking Democratic efforts to raise the debt ceiling before the October 18 deadline. 'This is a period of time where we could easily solve this in the next two days, and easily do that through allowing Democrats to be the adults in the room, despite the fact that Republicans spent like drunken sailors for the last four years before President Biden took office,' Psaki said at the afternoon press briefing. Earlier, Biden lashed out at Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell...

Comedian and actress Sarah Silverman expressed rare criticism towards the Democratic "Squad" over their opposition to providing U.S. funding for Israel's Iron Dome defense system. Last month, progressive lawmakers were successful in stripping $1 billion allocated for the Jewish State's missile defense program from the Democrat spending bill. The funding was then voted on separately, which received overwhelming bipartisan support with the exception of Rep. Thomas Massie, R-Ky., and the "Squad" members. Notably, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., changed her vote from "no" to "present" last minute. It's frustrating because my girls, ma gurls in the Squad, um, really didn't want...

The COVID-19 patient’s health was deteriorating quickly at a Michigan hospital, but he was having none of the doctor’s diagnosis. Despite dangerously low oxygen levels, the unvaccinated man didn’t think he was that sick and got so irate over a hospital policy forbidding his wife from being at his bedside that he threatened to walk out of the building. Dr. Matthew Trunsky didn’t hold back in his response: “You are welcome to leave, but you will be dead before you get to your car,’” he said. Such exchanges have become all-too-common for medical workers who are growing weary of COVID-19...
