Covid-19 is once again in retreat.
The reasons remain somewhat unclear, and there is no guarantee that the decline in caseloads will continue. But the turnaround is now large enough — and been going on long enough — to deserve attention.
The number of new daily cases in the U.S. has fallen 35 percent since Sept. 1:
Worldwide, cases have also dropped more than 30 percent since late August. “This is as good as the world has looked in many months,” Dr. Eric Topol of Scripps Research wrote last week.
These declines are consistent with a pattern that regular readers of this newsletter will recognize: Covid’s mysterious two-month cycle. Since the Covid virus began spreading in late 2019, cases have often surged for about two months — sometimes because of a variant, like Delta — and then declined for about two months.
Epidemiologists do not understand why. Many popular explanations, like seasonality or the ebbs and flows of social distancing, are clearly insufficient, if not wrong. The two-month cycle has occurred during different seasons of the year and occurred even when human behavior was not changing in obvious ways.
The most plausible explanations involve some combination of virus biology and social networks. Perhaps each virus variant is especially likely to infect some people but not others — and once many of the most vulnerable have been exposed, the virus recedes. ...

The most encouraging news is that serious Covid illnesses are also declining. The number of Americans hospitalized with Covid has fallen about 25% since 9/1. Daily deaths — which typically change direction a few weeks after cases and hospitalizations — have fallen 10% since 9/20...

Anyone who promotes eradication as a policy goal is either a fool or a statist (or both). A very likely reality, is that this bug will be with us forever - an airborne illness with a higher case fatality rate than influenza but not as contagious.
As nully says, Quarantine the sick. Protect the vulnerable. Free everyone else. (hangings are a different story).

The only reason the Jabs appeared to work was that the majority took place over the Summer where infections a low anyway. Wait until this Fall, normal Flu season.
The shots work great at driving the mutations we call "variants"...which keep the virus alive.
I am very concerned. The coming winter will be a harsh one with both Covid and the flu. Both will blame non vax people but the truth is we have dramaticly altered normal behavior. That and the Fauci GOF coronavirus that will continue to mutate. The vax can can do thing to help. Will be interesting. Everyone pray for a warm mild winter and some serious virologist to get their heads out of the ass of government grants.
My guess is there is a simple treatment out there just waiting for identification. Ivermectin maybe or something else. Idk but the won’t try/test so they won’t either. Hard code weather or a goofy mutation and things will get sporty no matter how many trillions of the rMNA you inject.
Vax Can not do anything to help at this point. By bad posting. Sorry. Will get posted to on both sides now. Idk. Might be fun. Maybe I can play a condescending Dr to some and a rabid denier to others. Fact is the Fed.Gov screwed this up from the start. Liberals natural state is a CF.
Don't worry, they'll come up with a way to make them shoot up so that they can keep the lock downs, mask mandates and vax mandates going.

I wonder how much the uprisings in Australia and elsewhere are playing into them backing off.
Could be they have just decided to let this one slide for now since it’s not working out as planned. In which case, they MUST have a backup plan to put into effect.
I guess the question is whether they will let things settle down for the holidays and hit us after them, or try to hit us just before Christmas. And I would expect the next round to be actually more serious than this was.
And I can’t help but wonder if it’s going to be a virus that specifically targets the vaxxed or not. Or if it’s going to be something just slightly more virulent in reality but will be portrayed as worse because people will be having bad reactions due to ADE. I could see the facts being the individuals immune system doing them in but it being blamed on a virus that is allegedly extra virulent but really isn’t.
The problem will be, that the seasonal numbers will be too big to blame on the unvaxxed.
My guess is, they'll start to say the shots that were developed under Trump are ineffective.
Then they'll turn to NEW shots developed under Harris' watchful eye. Libs will flock to the new shots, Bidet will step down, infections will "magically" decline, and Harris will have the wind at her back for 2024. /tinfoil hat.

One thing for sure - they are in one hell of a hurry to needlessly ‘vaccinate’ as many people as possible, given that the virus is dying off. Will the virus return before the Ivermectin derivatives are in widespread use, and thereby snuff out the virus completely - that’s the big question on my mind.

Clearly, the vaccine is for PREVENTION. Nothing else. All of the clinical trials (limited as they were) and statistical confidence intervals were focused on Vaccine Efficacay (VE) with regard to PREVENTION...not hospitalization, not ER visits, and not symptoms.
