Introduction: Imagine, if you will, an alternate universe in which a confused old man - Joe Buckstop - stumbles into the presidency, and spends his entire term in his basement. Each evening, an aide walks downstairs and serves him his bowl of soup, and engages him in conversation about current events, in a losing effort to keep his mind hale. Tonight's episode is an excerpt from the ongoing series, "Evening Soup with Basement Joe," by John F. Di Leo, a fictional chronicle of the events of 2021, a political satire available in paperback or eBook from Amazon. "Hey, boss! You...

Florida GOP Gov. Ron DeSantis took a victory lap today after the city of Gainesville rescinded their COVID vaccine mandate following a court ruling against them. In a tweet, DeSantis said, “Florida workers should not lose their jobs based on COVID shots. The City of Gainesville rescinded its mandate, which threatened to kill many jobs.” Circuit Judge Monica Brasington ruled the city of Gainesville must not enforce its vaccine mandate and cannot discipline, or terminate, employees for failing to get vaccinated. In her order, Judge Brasington wrote that, “The city failed to put on any evidence that the Vaccine Mandate...

So last week I go into the local liquor store to pick up a 6pk of beer and a snack. The clerk rings me up to a charge of $10.36. As I've done many, many times before, I present my BofA Visa debit card into the reader (and yes, I'm 1,000,000 % positive I presented my debit card) and it doesn't prompt me for my pin like its always done. I take the card out to try again and at that point, the clerk tells me I'm good to. I then tell the the clerk I never provided my pin...

In the fantasy land of New York Times apostate conservative columnist David Brooks, the crazy Democrat spending agenda serves “moral and cultural purposes.” Brooks' new op-ed, headlined “This Is Why We Need to Spend $4 Trillion,” let readers know that he’s been in a “controlled fury.” His reasoning for the self-righteous anger was the sense of “indifference” amongst citizens to the “most consequential legislative package in a generation” during his recent travels across five states. Maybe it’s because Americans are not that gung-ho about sinking the country into a whirlpool of economic misery via out-of-control government spending? But Brooks pleaded...

Nostalgia has been erased in a revamp of the 1980s classic My Little Pony with the once-whimsical characters now pushing progressive political messaging, and the baddies painted as being 'anti-science'. Netflix's woke My Little Pony: A New Generation introduces its young viewers to themes of tolerance, prejudice and even fascism as it turns the colorful tiny horses into political pawns. The film depicts anti-magic ponies - the 'the baddies' - as ignorant anti-science creatures likely to spread irrational fear and untruths. It also includes a cameo from a character called Deputy Sprout – complete with a tuft of blond mane...

A lecturer removed from the classroom after refusing to grade on a racial curve is now suing UCLA and his dean for costing him at least $500,000 in consulting contracts in just the past year — and an estimated $10 million long term. Gordon Klein also accused the public university, where he's taught accounting since 1981, of retaliation by halting his long string of merit-pay increases after his email response to a student went viral. It has ignored his requests for security escorts in light of "serious physical threats," including anti-Semitic death threats he reported as recently as March, Klein...

The man convicted of killing nine neighbors in separate arsons has dodged the death penalty. Jurors recommended life behind bars on Friday for Stanley Ford, 62, for murdering a couple, and a family of seven by setting house fires at their homes in Summit County, Ohio, according to local media outlets. A jury of Ford’s peers found him guilty on Sept. 21 for killing Lindell Lewis, 65, and Gloria Jean Hart, 66, in an April 18, 2016 arson, and for killing Angela Boggs, 38, and Dennis Huggins, 35, and their children Cameron Huggins, 1, Alivia Huggins, 3, Kyle Huggins, 5,...

Explanation: Dark markings and colorful clouds inhabit this stellar landscape. The deep and expansive view spans more than 30 full moons across crowded star fields toward the center of our Milky Way Galaxy. Cataloged in the early 20th century by astronomer E. E. Barnard, the obscuring interstellar dust clouds seen toward the right include B59, B72, B77 and B78, part of the Ophiuchus molecular cloud complex a mere 450 light-years away. To the eye their combined shape suggests a pipe stem and bowl, and so the dark nebula's popular name is the Pipe Nebula. Three bright nebulae gathered on the...

Kentucky Republican wants to redirect proposed Afghanistan aid to finance Israel's missile defense system In the latest hurdle to Israel receiving $1 billion in funding to replenish its Iron Dome missile defense system after May's Gaza conflict, Republican Senator Rand Paul from Kentucky has blocked swift passage of the bill, Politico reports. The lawmaker is an opponent of US foreign aid and is insisting that the Iron Dome money be offset by redirecting financial assistance for Afghanistan. “He proposed that we pay for the House bill with money that is going to go to the Taliban,” a spokeswoman for the...

Another day, another hate hoax. Douglas County, Atlanta – A 30-year-old woman this week was charged with 8 counts of making terroristic threats in the Brookmont subdivision of Douglasville. For nearly a year, Terresha Lucas left threatening, racially charged notes in black people’s mailboxes on Manning Drive. Lucas, a black woman, pretended to be a white male member of the Ku Klux Klan and described herself as 6 feet tall with a long red beard. “Residents on Manning Drive began receiving the notes last December from a person who claimed to be a white male member of the Ku Klux...

After a multi-day standoff filled with plenty of Democrat-on-Democrat combat, President Joe Biden came to Capitol Hill on Friday with his agenda in doubt and delivered a clear message to a fractious party: Come on, man. A simple half-hour kumbaya session between Biden and House Democrats on Friday afternoon seemed to forestall an imminent collapse of the party’s marquee policy package: a $1 trillion bipartisan infrastructure deal, as well as a separate, still-undefined, multi-trillion dollar economic and social policy plan. But it also meant that Democrats were set to leave Washington this week without any agreement on the bills and...

Recently, President Biden was observed getting a "booster" shot in what appeared to be a room at the White House. Unfortunately, the White House "room" was an elaborate hoax. Slow Joe got a shot of something (maybe), on a fake set, constructed specifically for a staged event. It was Kabuki Theater. Apparently, Joe starred in his own one-act play, No Time to Vax for his captive audience the media. Amy Tarkanian said: Why would someone set up a fake White House backdrop when they live and work in the actual White House? Nothing they do makes sense."Nothing they do makes...
