On the menu today: The transcript of President Joe Biden’s interview with ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos dropped, and the president’s incoherence, insistence that he was incorrectly briefed, denial that he was warned by his military advisers, and oddly low profile in the past week raise troubling questions about his ability to perform his duties. What’s Going On with President Biden? After making no public appearances for four days — during a major foreign crisis — President Biden read a 20-minute speech off a teleprompter on Monday afternoon and took no questions. He immediately returned to Camp David. He had no...

Moderna will start trialling its experimental mRNA-based HIV vaccine as early as tomorrow (19 August), according to a new submission to the US National Institutes of Health Clinical Trial registry. The Phase 1 trial will reportedly involve 56 healthy adults aged 18 to 50 who do not have HIV, and will test the safety of the vaccine as well as look for a basic immune response. The vaccine candidate is functionally similar to the mRNA system that's been so successful in Moderna's COVID-19 vaccine. For years, researchers have been investigating the potential of mRNA vaccines, but the Pfizer and Moderna...

Attorney Alan Dershowitz blasted comedian Larry David after the Seinfeld co-creator and Curb Your Enthusiasm star “screamed” and “yelled” at him in a grocery store over his ties with the Trump administration, calling him a “knee-jerk radical” who “takes his politics from Hollywood” and doesn’t read or think a lot. “While he was writing bad jokes, I was helping to bring about peace in the Middle East. What has he done?” Alan Dershowitz told Page Six. “Larry is a knee-jerk radical. He takes his politics from Hollywood. He doesn’t read a lot. He doesn’t think a lot.”

ST. LOUIS COUNTY (KMOV.com) – A St. Louis County judge has barred the enforcement of County Executive Dr. Sam Page’s mask mandate. Page mandated that everyone would need to wear a mask in an indoor public setting, regardless of whether they have been vaccinated, starting on July 26. Only one day after it went into effect, the St. Louis County Council voted 5-2 to overturn it. Several members of the St. Louis County Council have spoken out against the mandate saying it violates a recently passed state law that requires input from a governing body such as a county council....

On Thursday, over 40 Republican senators sent a letter to Attorney General Merrick Garland to demand he share an update on the status of Special Counsel John Durham’s probe into the Crossfire Hurricane Investigation and ensure the investigation is seen to completion and released to the public. Durham's inquiry began under Garland's predecessor, Attorney General William Barr, in 2019 to "conduct a review of the origins of the FBI's investigation into Russian collusion in the 2016 United States presidential election," the letter reads. Previously, Durham served as United States attorney for the District of Connecticut. “We write to request an...

SANTA FE – As cases swell and hospital beds fill up, New Mexico will reimpose a mask mandate for public indoor spaces and require hospital workers to be vaccinated against COVID-19 or face the possibility of losing their jobs. Public, private and charter school employees also will face new requirements under public health orders issued Tuesday. Teachers and other school employees will have the option of either getting vaccinated or undergoing weekly coronavirus testing, matching a requirement already in place for state workers. And everyone will be required to wear a mask regardless of vaccination status. Meanwhile, the mask mandate...

[H/T Cathi]SNIPData published by Israel’s Ministry of Health in late July suggested that the Pfizer shot was just 39% effective against preventing infection in the country in late June and early July, compared with 95% from January to early April. In both periods, however, the shot was more than 90% effective in preventing severe disease.Experts warn that these early assessments have not been scientifically proven. The small numbers of cases involved, Israel’s testing policies and a host of other biases could have skewed the results.Still, as summer approached, infections began to spiral. SNIPAfter many days of zero COVID-19 deaths in...

Sometimes you have to turn to the foreign press to get the straight story on events in America, or events in which American actors feature. Like Joe Biden’s botched withdrawal from Afghanistan. Yesterday, per the Telegraph, “the Houses of Parliament delivered an unprecedented rebuke to a US president.” Parliament’s assessment of Joe Biden’s performance was, to put it mildly, unsparing: Joe Biden’s handling of the Afghanistan withdrawal was condemned as “catastrophic” and “shameful” on Wednesday…. “The West could not continue this US-led mission – a mission conceived and executed in support and defence of America – without American logistics, without...

Former President Donald Trump on Wednesday suggested that vaccine booster shots aren't medically necessary and instead are being pushed by pharmaceutical companies purely for profit. "That sounds to me like a money-making operation for Pfizer," Trump, who was secretly vaccinated last January at the White House, told Fox Business host Maria Bartiromo. "Think of the money involved. An extra shot … How good a business is that? If you're a pure businessman, you'd say, 'you know what, let's give them another shot,' that's another $10 billion of money coming in - the whole thing is crazy."

The suspect had been identified as Floyd Ray Roseberry of Grover, North Carolina. Roseberry says there are 5 total bombs in DC that will blow up if he is shot. “I’m here for a reason Joe Biden. I’m here for the American people. If you want to take me out – take me out. But when the patriots come, your ass is in trouble.” Taken from DC bombing suspect Ray Roseberry’s Facebook: “The revolution is here, it’s today.” “I love this land. We got a few options here, Joe Biden. You shoot me, then two and half blocks are going...

The American-nurtured Afghan military of the last 20 years that had suffered thousands of prior casualties evaporated in a few hours in the encirclement of Kabul. Enlistees apparently calculated that their own meager chances with the premodern Taliban were still better than fighting as a dependency of the postmodern United States — despite its powerful diversity training programs. Forces more powerful than the Taliban, in places far more strategic, will now leverage an ideologically driven but predictably incompetent administration, a woke Pentagon and politically weaponized intelligence communities. Why not, when President Joe Biden trashes both American frackers and the Saudis...

DeSantis lashed out at Biden over the ongoing Afghanistan crisis after Biden threatened to sue states which have banned school mask mandates The Florida Governor told Fox News: 'When you're leaving thousands of Americans to fend for themselves behind enemy lines, that matters.' Signed an executive order banning mask mandates in Florida schools last month Biden faces the worst crisis of his presidency, with up to 15,000 Americans feared trapped in Afghanistan after the US withdrew and the Taliban surged 'I mean, you gotta wonder, where are your priorities that you're so obsessed with this issue and so obsessed with...

Joe Biden said he can't 'recall' if he was warned to maintain a troop presence in Afghanistan and insisted 'no one is being killed' during the chaos at the Kabul airport in a series of confusing comments in his first interview on the bungled withdrawal and the Taliban's takeover. He also said he would have still pulled troops from Afghanistan without former President Donald Trump's deal to get everyone out by May 1 in a reversal of his finger-pointing at his predecessor for the chaos. 'Your top military advisers warned against withdrawing on this timeline – they wanted you to...

Today marks the 30th anniversary of the Crown Heights riot, the worst outburst of anti-Semitic violence in modern American history. Perhaps the most lasting insult to the victims is the way in which journalists and other liberal activists have sought to erase the riot from our collective memory and history. Insult is perhaps too generous a term considering how one of the riot's chief anti-Semitic instigators, the Rev. Al Sharpton, has managed to become a respectable member of the Liberal Élite and one of the most influential Democratic power brokers in New York City and beyond.
