Data published by Israel’s Ministry of Health in late July suggested that the Pfizer shot was just 39% effective against preventing infection in the country in late June and early July, compared with 95% from January to early April. In both periods, however, the shot was more than 90% effective in preventing severe disease.
Experts warn that these early assessments have not been scientifically proven. The small numbers of cases involved, Israel’s testing policies and a host of other biases could have skewed the results.
Still, as summer approached, infections began to spiral.

After many days of zero COVID-19 deaths in June, at least 230 Israelis have died so far this month.
Unlike previous epicenters of infection in Israel’s crowded, less-vaccinated ultra-Orthodox communities, this scourge primarily took hold in well-vaccinated, middle-class suburbs.

Israel is now pinning its hopes on booster shots.

Actually, this plummeting of efficacy (against infection) of the Pfizer vaccine when facing the Delta variant is in line with results of the Mayo Clinic study.
As a Monday morning quarterback, it’s easy to say THEY SHOULD HAVE USED THE MODERNA VACCINE.

As a person researching this content, I can say, “THey should have rejected the bioweapon.”

Ignoring the anomaly in the data with the Orthodox community, the government’s response to failing efficacy of the vaccines is to double down, or perhaps I should say triple down, and go with a booster shot.

If it worked to kick the Delta Variant’s ass in the densely populated Indian State of Uttar Pradesh with over 15 times the population of Israel and the rest of the world just gave a collective shrug, and demand more rabdon controlled studies, what makes you think that Israel could make a difference in how the world sees it?
