“That means it’s working!” A very strange event was caught on camera and has been making its rounds on the Internet today. The Australian Minister For Customer Service developed Bell’s Palsy in real time, in the middle of a press conference on the Coronavirus days after getting a second dose of the COVID vaccine. Was there any relation? There’s no way to know, but it certainly does raise some eyebrows… well, technically, it lowers an eyebrow for him at least. ... New South Wales’ Customer Service Minister has taken to social media to confirm the reason for his “droopy eye”,...

The crisis in Afghanistan will resonate in Pennsylvania in the days and weeks ahead, as families fleeing the Taliban-led government will take refuge in resettlement areas here. In Pittsburgh, Jewish Family and Community Services (JFCS) has begun to resettle one family and is preparing for two more families that recently evacuated Afghanistan, said Ivonne Smith-Tapia, director of refugee and immigrant services for the Squirrel Hill-based JFCS. Thousands are evacuating the country following the withdrawal of American troops there, the subsequent collapse of the government and the Taliban takeover. In southcentral Pennsylvania, Church World Service Lancaster has sent four employees to...

3,000 Afghan Civilian Translators Left behind Lucy Fisher, the Defence Correspondent of the Times, recently highlighted the ‘hollow promises’ made by the U.K. Government to Afghan translators. In her July 2020 article she stated that British forces employed some 7,000 Afghan civilians of which around 3,500 were translators on active duty at the front-line with British forces. She also listed the fact that 20 Afghan translators were killed on active duty and that 445 have been relocated into the U.K with their families, meaning that some 3,000 are still at risk of harm from an emboldened Taliban, now negotiating peace...

A campaign to nullify the Electoral College has come to a screeching halt. For more than a decade, the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact (NPVIC) added states until reaching nearly three-quarters of its goal. Yet now it is moving backward, with states that nearly joined in the past rejecting it with large bipartisan majorities. Of 29 NPVIC bills introduced in 16 states, just two received a hearing, and those were voted down with Democrats and Republicans unified in opposition. Rather than a bump in the road, this may be a dead end. The National Popular Vote movement began in 2006,...

Pray For the Peace of JerusalemPsalm 139 For the director of music. Of David. A psalm. 1 You have searched me, Lord, and you know me. 2 You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. 3 You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways. 4 Before a word is on my tongue you, Lord, know it completely. 5 You hem me in behind and before, and you lay your hand upon me. 6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to...

Will the US abandon Taiwan? Fundamentally speaking, this is a matter of time and situation, and it will not be decided by a few elites in the US and Taiwan. We believe that as long as the mainland's strength continues to grow, and as long as it prepares fully for military struggles and has a firm will to unify, then there is no doubt the US is doomed to eventually abandon Taiwan. First, there is no official document in the US that requires it to send troops to defend Taiwan. Once it does, the US president and his administration will...

... 2016 AJ193, will fly past our planet on August 21 at around 11:10 a.m. EDT. When it does so, it will be traveling at a speed of around 26.1 kilometers every second... NASA's Center for Near Earth Object Studies (CNEOS) estimates that 2016 AJ193 is about 4,500 feet in diameter, but there is an uncertainty of about 1,300 feet either side of that figure. As a result, 2016 AJ193 could potentially be as big as 5,800 feet across, though it could also be significantly smaller. The Empire State Building, by comparison, is around 1,250 feet tall. While Saturday's pass...

Nearly 20 years to the day that foreign terrorists took down the twin towers in New York City – when thousands of lives were lost and trillions of dollars were spent -- the Afghanistan War has ended in utter and complete misery. Now, the White House is trying to spin this epic collapse as business as usual. This is an incredible defeat and a national disgrace. So much money, so many dead and thousands more in the Veterans Affairs hospital system, and the Afghan President that the U.S. picked hands over Kabul to the Taliban in front of us? How...

Toyota Motor will reduce its global production for September by 40% from its previous plan, Nikkei has learned. In its latest plans formed in July, the automaker had been aiming to build a little under 900,000 automobiles for the month, but that number has been reduced to about 500,000 units as the global chip crunch affects supply chains. The delta outbreak across Southeast Asia has also impacted the company's procurement of auto parts. The production cut, which will amount to about 350,000 units, means the automaker will temporarily suspend production lines at multiple domestic factories, including its Takaoka plant in...

Amazon department stores are expected to be in California and Ohio. The locations will take up roughly 30,000 square feet, around the size of a Kohl’s or T.J. Maxx location, but still about the third of a size of a traditional department store. n recent years, the company bought Whole Foods Market and has opened brick-and-mortar book stores, Amazon-branded grocery stores and cashierless convenience stores. Physical locations come with higher fixed costs but can attract more eyeballs and allow consumers to try on clothes.

Hezbollah terror group chief Hassan Nasrallah said Thursday a tanker would set off from Iran “within hours” to bring desperately needed fuel supplies to Lebanon, in defiance of US sanctions. Many questions remain about how the shipment would reach its stated destination, where acute and growing fuel shortages have forced hospitals, businesses and government offices shut amid a crippling economic crisis. But the move, prohibited by US sanctions on Iran’s oil industry, could drag Lebanon into the covert naval war between Tehran and Israel. Nasrallah dared Iran’s foes to stop the shipment. “The vessel, from the moment it sails in...

Republican Sens. Bill Cassidy (R-LA) and Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) have joined a group of Senate Democrats in asking President Joe Biden to rapidly expand refugee resettlement from Afghanistan to the United States. In a letter to Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, Cassidy, Murkowski, and Senate Democrats asked the Biden administration to open a new “humanitarian parole” program for potentially hundreds of thousands of Afghans who otherwise would not be eligible for Special Immigrant Visas (SIVs).

Another government failure, another outrage. This time the scandal is brought on by the less-than-orderly withdrawal of U.S. troops from Afghanistan and the realization that 20 years of military presence in the country achieved nothing but death and chaos. Observing another instance of large-scale mismanagement, I can't help being surprised that anyone is still surprised. One needn't be a foreign policy expert to recognize that something in Afghanistan went terribly wrong. While many will blame the Biden administration for a fiasco that will have horrifying humanitarian consequences for the Afghan people, the failure also belongs to those who made the...

“‘Thine is the dominion, O Lord, and Thou dost exalt Thyself as head over all. Both riches and honor come from Thee, and Thou dost rule over all’” (1 Chronicles 29:11-12). Trust God, who controls everyone and everything. In Daniel 6, King Darius chose 120 princes to help him govern his kingdom. Over the princes he appointed three presidents, with Daniel being the first president. The princes and other two presidents were jealous of Daniel, so they devised a scheme against him. They told the king that he should make a law requiring every person to make his requests only...
