Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas has been caught on leaked audio telling border agents that the current crisis is “unsustainable” and that the US is “going to lose.” Mayorkas told agents during a private meeting in Brownsville, Texas, on Thursday that the current situation “cannot continue” and that the system wasn’t designed to handle such high numbers of illegal immigrants, according to the audio obtained by Fox News. “A couple of days ago I was down in Mexico, and I said, ‘Look, you know, if, if our borders are the first line of defense, we’re going to lose and this...

Yesterday we reported that with container shipping rates already blowing out to never before seen levels amid continued chaos in Transpacific shipping as a result of massive port backlogs and production delays in China due to the relentless onslaught of the now-endemic covid, a new and even greater price surge was on deck - an outcome which would nuke hopes for renormalization in soaring inflation - as a result of the partial (for now) shutdown of China's busiest port by volume (and third-largest container port in the world after Shanghai and Singapore) when operations at the Ningbo Meishan Container Terminal,...

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Austin restaurants Launderette and Fresa’s will no longer require proof of COVID-19 vaccination for indoor dining after being contacted by the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission. Earlier this week, the two restaurants announced intentions to require vaccination proof at its restaurants but backtracked after communication with TABC. TABC says managers at the Austin restaurants “weren’t aware of the full requirements of the law and immediately took steps to comply.” Launderette confirmed on its Instagram page vaccinations are not required, but guests are required to “wear masks indoors when not seated at a table.” Texas Gov. Greg Abbott signed...

Editor’s Commentary: I had a disturbing conversation with a friend in Oklahoma when this story hit my desk. He laughed. He said that’s what I get for moving out to California. Here’s the thing. Anyone who thinks this can’t happen in their area is mistaken. Today, most red states are trying to protect their citizens from draconian policies like the one described by Lance below. But some of them will cave. Some of them will be overruled by the courts. Some of them will give an inch to the pro-vaccine maniacs only to have a mile taken as a result....

All eyes were on Andrew Cuomo on Tuesday after the disgraced New York governor shockingly announced his resignation. Corporate media waffled between aghast that their pandemic “hero” could be so inappropriate and hopeful that Cuomo would run for office again soon. The Twitterverse buzzed with garden-variety anti-Trump pulp insisting Democrats’ too-little-too-late Cuomo condemnation is evidence of their moral superiority — because, UNLIKE REPUBLICANS, the left holds its own accountable. The obvious fact is, however, that this corrupt corporate press and the Jennifer Rubin “conservatives” of the world are the ones who propped Cuomo up as “the gold standard,” to use Joe...

In case you haven’t heard the news, Robin of “Batman and Robin” fame has been outed as bisexual. And in case you were unsure if he was simply exploring his sexuality or had determined for sure that he was bi, DC Comics made it official: “Tim Drake [the third Robin in the series] dates boys.”Robin now joins more than 65 other LGBTQ+ superheroes and villains — but be assured, no one has any agenda at all. Who would think such a thing?Ten years ago, I wrote an article titled, “‘Mutant’ as a Codeword for ‘Gay’ in the X-Men Movies,” claiming...

The Biden administration begged the Middle East to ramp up oil production Wednesday as American producers sit still on Alaska's frigid North Slope.. The Biden administration begged the Middle East to ramp up oil production Wednesday as American producers sit still on Alaska’s frigid North Slope. “Higher gasoline costs, if left unchecked, risk harming the ongoing global recovery. The price of crude oil has been higher than it was at the end of 2019, before the onset of the pandemic,” wrote Biden National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan. “While OPEC+ recently agreed to production increases, these increases will not fully offset...

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, otherwise known as the Mormon church, urged its congregation to get vaccinated for COVID-19 and wear masks. The Church addressed its Thursday statement to all its global members. The First Presidency, consisting of the prophet and his two counselors signed the letter. All three have received the vaccine and broadcasted the process on social media.“We find ourselves fighting a war against the ravages of COVID-19 and its variants, an unrelenting pandemic,” the statement begins. “We want to do all we can to limit the spread of these viruses. We know that protection...

There has been much debate over how to get the unvaccinated to get their jabs — shame them, bribe them persuade them, or treat them as victims of mis- and disinformation campaigns — but who, exactly, are these people? Most of the coverage would have you believe that the surge in cases is primarily down to less educated, ‘brainwashed’ Trump supporters who don’t want to take the vaccine. This may be partially true: the areas in which the delta variant is surging coincide with the sections of red America in which vaccination rates are lowest. But according to a new paper by...

Biden is heading to Camp David Friday afternoon from his residence is Wilmington, Delaware, continuing a vacation amid spiraling crises, including a deteriorating situation in Afghanistan that's been compared to the fall of Saigon. American troops are en route to the country Friday in an attempt to help Americans there escape, even as the State Department downplays the situation, particularly regarding the U.S. Embassy in Kabul. "We are reducing our civilian footprint to a core diplomatic presence. And what that means is that we are going to continue to have a diplomatic presence on the ground in Afghanistan. Our embassy...

Ilhan Omar and her second husband Ahmed Elmi allegedly proves that the two are siblings It has long been rumored that Omar and Elmi are siblings, but because of a lack of paperwork in war-torn Somalia, positive proof has never been uncovered The match says that Omar's DNA was taken from a cigarette butt, while Elmi's DNA purportedly came from a drinking straw Although Omar is not known to be a smoker, a grainy photo appears to show her smoking outside of her Washington, DC home Republican strategist Anton Lazzaro posted the results hours...

After President Biden’s face-to-face meeting with Vladimir Putin in Geneva last week, I couldn’t help but think of my trip to Russia in 1993. I was on a congressional delegation visiting Moscow when Boris Yeltsin was president and the West had great hopes for a more open, democratic Russia. I went to see the then-vice president, who was an air force general, in his office. One entire wall of the room was a map of the Soviet Union. Being cheerfully ignorant, I said to him, "Gosh, that’s a map of the Soviet Union." He looked at me and he responded,...

A group of nine moderates is threatening to withhold their votes from Democrats’ $3.5 trillion budget resolution later this month, endangering Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s two-track plan to push both a massive infrastructure bill and social spending agenda through the House in the coming weeks. The House Democrats outlined their threat in a letter to Pelosi and obtained by POLITICO on Friday morning. The group has been issuing veiled warnings for weeks — calling on Pelosi to bring the bipartisan Senate infrastructure bill up for a vote as soon as it’s ready — but this is the first time the lawmakers...

A Carnival ship that set sail from Texas had 27 COVID-19-positive people aboard Wednesday, the highest number of reported cases on a US ship since the cruise industry opened back up this summer. The Carnival Vista arrived in Belize City with 26 infected crew members and one infected guest, according to the Belize Tourism Board. Officials noted that there were more than 4,000 people on the ship, and 99.98 percent of the crew was vaccinated, along with the vast majority of the passengers. The infected crew members are now in isolation, but “most are asymptomatic or have very mild symptoms,”...
