Interesting war documentary video on YouTube about the 1,200 WWII Soviet female Bomber Regiment nicknamed, "The Night Witches", by the Germans. The all-female 588th Bomber Regiment dropped more than 23,000 tons of bombs on Nazi targets. And in doing so, they became crucial to the Soviets winning their portion of the war against Germany. Their job was to harass the Germans at night so they could not rest from the war. While the Russians fighters rested, the women would fly all night dropping bombs and forcing the germans to be alert 24/7. Germans nicknamed them the Nachthexen, or “Night...

Physicists at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) have linked together, or “entangled,” the mechanical motion and electronic properties of a tiny blue crystal, giving it a quantum edge in measuring electric fields with record sensitivity that may enhance understanding of the universe. The quantum sensor consists of 150 beryllium ions (electrically charged atoms) confined in a magnetic field, so they self-arrange into a flat 2D crystal just 200 millionths of a meter in diameter. Quantum sensors such as this have the potential to detect signals from dark matter — a mysterious substance that might turn out to...

Source Found! Bergoglio Copied BugniniArchbishop Annibale Bugnini (+1982), the inventor of the Novus Ordo – who wrote the Second Eucharistic prayer in a restaurant – formulated in 1976 four conditions for allowing Archbishop Lefebvre and other Catholics to continue celebrating the Roman Mass. These conditions are listed on page 180 in a Bugnini biography published 2018 by French historian Yves Chirion: 1. A declaration that the Novus Ordo is not heretical or Protestant, and that those who composed and approved it are not heretics and Protestants. 2. The order of Mass may be that of the 1962 Missal but the...

New York (CNN Business)The planned grand reopening of offices across America is in serious doubt because of the Delta variant. In the past 24 hours, a slew of major companies have told employees they will no longer be expected back at their desks in September. Notably, that list includes BlackRock (BLK), Wells Fargo (CBEAX) and other Wall Street firms that had been eager to turn the page on the era of virtual work. The shift by these business leaders makes perfect sense. Many workers are nervous about returning to crowded offices and subway stations at a time when Covid-19 cases...

OPINION: This article contains commentary which reflects the author’s opinion A video has emerged online of a saggy-pants-wearing soy boy who thought it would be a good idea to harass and then attack an elderly gentleman as the man walked with a bag of groceries in his hands. The would-be victim put his groceries down for a moment to give the punk a brutal dose of instant justice, proving the thug picked on the wrong guy. The elderly gentleman was recently walking at what appears to be an outdoor shopping center with a bag of groceries in his hands. Incidentally,...

California Gov. Gavin Newsom said the recall effort against him is unfair and that its impacts will be felt "across the country." "No," Newsom said during a virtual interview when asked whether he believes his actions and policies have justified a fair recall effort. "Not at all. Look, if you don't like me, just vote me out at the start of the primary next year," he added during the exchange with various California reporters published Thursday. The recall election will be held on Sept. 14, and if a majority of Californians vote in favor of ousting the governor, the challenger...

There is a parallel conservatism shared by the framing era Anti-Federalists and today’s Article V opponents. Conservatism in this sense is the tendency to hold on to what is known and to resist change. We may take it for granted, but thirteen heterogeneous societies joining in common defense was not inevitable. By 1787, both Federalists and Anti-Federalists foresaw approaching dissolution of the union under the Articles of Confederation (AC). A decade of experience with state constitutions had revealed their defects and induced among many Americans an inclination toward change. Either the independent republics must join in a more perfect union, or...

ALBANY, N.Y. — The New York Assembly’s impeachment investigation into Gov. Andrew Cuomo is “nearing completion” as lawmakers warn they will “soon consider potential articles of impeachment against” the scandal-scarred governor. Cuomo, who has defiantly resisted calls to resign in the wake of a report outlining sexual harassment allegations against the governor, has until Aug. 13 to provide any “additional evidence,” according to a letter sent to his lawyers on Thursday. “We write to inform you that the Committee’s investigation is nearing completion and the Assembly will soon consider potential articles of impeachment against your client,” the letter states. The...

If you want an interesting encounter with human fury, hop on over to your local pharmacy. Hang out in the area where people are lined up for scheduled or walk-in Covid vaccines on this August 3, 2021, as the pressure to get the jab reaches a fevered pitch and the noncompliant are being blamed for the very existence of SARS-CoV-2. In a friendly way, ask what they are up to and what they expect. I guarantee you will get an earful. At this late stage, everyone who wanted the vaccine, because they made their own free choice based on risk...

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott ordered a third attempt at passing a GOP voting bill on Thursday, calling another special legislative session to begin this weekend as Democrats who left the state weeks ago in protest still remain in Washington. The announcement was expected and comes as more than 50 Democrats — who scrambled to fly out of Texas on July 12 — were on the cusp of running out the clock on the current special session and torpedoing the sweeping voting package for a second time since May. “I will continue to call special session after special session," Abbott said.

Not a care in the world, eh, Andy? New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo lounged poolside with a blonde pal at the Executive Mansion Thursday despite deafening calls for his resignation, almost-certain impending impeachment and multiple criminal investigations into his serial sex-harassment scandal. In photos exclusively obtained by The Post, Cuomo, 63, was captured relaxing on a chair, feet up, as the unidentified woman in summer jumper and cast-aside flip-flops typed on a laptop nearby. Cuomo has been largely holed up in the Albany sprawl since Tuesday when independent investigators retained by state Attorney General Letitia James released a blockbuster report...

WARSAW: Poland accused Belarus of sending a growing number of migrants over the border in retaliation for Warsaw's decision this week to give refuge to Krystsina Tsimanouskaya, a Belarusian athlete who refused to return home from the Tokyo Olympics. A deputy interior minister, Maciej Wasik, said on Thursday (Aug 5) that Minsk was "waging a hybrid war with the European Union with the help of illegal immigrants". In recent weeks, neighbour and fellow EU member state Lithuania has reported a surge in illegal border crossings from Belarus and said Minsk was flying in migrants from abroad and dispatching them into...

Here in New York, the news today is dominated by one big story: a supposedly “independent” investigative report issued by the Attorney General has apparently validated allegations of a pattern of sexual harassment committed by our Governor, Andrew Cuomo. From CBS News, August 3: New York Governor Andrew Cuomo sexually harassed multiple current and former staffers as well as women who did not work for his administration, the state's attorney general Letitia James said Tuesday during a press conference summarizing the findings of an independent investigation. Suddenly, a guy who had been riding high on a wave of (ridiculously) favorable...

The overwhelming majority of people who have been hospitalized and have died of the coronavirus are unvaccinated, according to data from state and federal health officials. There are many reasons why someone may choose not to be vaccinated, Gov. Phil Murphy said at a recent coronavirus briefing. “There are some people who are relying on talking heads or social media who are just wrong about this,” Murphy said. “There’s a block of folks who I just don’t agree with, but we want to keep them alive, whether we agree with them or not. There’s another block that don’t speak English....

Yesterday I wrote about the AP announcement that it was joining with Twitter to expand the reach of “factual journalism” by “leveraging AP’s scale and speed to add context to online conversations.” It took only one day to prove that this was a lie. In today’s AP story "US plans to require COVID-19 shots for foreign travelers," the AP purposely left out key context that would show that the Biden regime is applying a double standard on legal vs. illegal travel across US borders. According to the AP story: “Eventually, all foreign citizens entering the country, with some limited exceptions,...

J.R. Richard, the legendary Astros pitcher who played all 10 seasons of his MLB career in Houston, has died, the team announced on Thursday. The right-handed pitcher, who began his major league playing career in 1971, is the latest passing involving a member of the team's Hall of Fame. "J.R. will forever be remembered as an intimidating figure on the mound and as one of the greatest pitchers in club history. He stood shoulder to shoulder with club icons Larry Dierker, Joe Niekro and Nolan Ryan, to form a few of the best rotations in club history," the team said...

A houseless man was arrested and held in a state mental hospital for two years and eight months after being mistaken for the wrong man, according to the Hawai'i Innocence Project. The advocacy group filed a lawsuit Monday night alleging Joshua Spriestersbach was wrongly arrested in 2017 while he was waiting for food outside of the Safe Haven shelter in Chinatown. Ken Lawson, the co-founder of the Hawai'i Innocence Project, claimed the officer who booked Spriestersbach did not compare fingerprints when he mistook him for Thomas Castleberry, who was charged for several crimes in three different states.
