This one is especially gross. WHO can go straight to Hell. We paid for these vaccines. We financed their creation. President Trump had a huge hand in making them available at all. I wish President Trump were still in office (for many reasons) because I know he'd have the same opinion. Biden may just start shipping out all the doses we bought to other places when they could be used to save Americans and protect our economy.
I continue to think that Pfizer and Moderna are holding stocks of Delta-specific shots for their BLA and that they'll provide those once that approval comes in. The BLA is key here and many other countries look to the US to determine what they should be doing. I do feel a real sense of pride that the ONLY universally accepted safe and effective vaccines in the WORLD are from American companies.

I am not familiar with this journal (not my field). Not sure why you say the article is packed with “conjecture” when there is over 11.5 pages of references used to support what they addressed.
I’d like to know where you think these authors offer their personal opinion?
I presume when they say “fully vaccinated” they mean people getting their 2nd jab of mRNA (or, singe jab of J&J). But if so it’s a little sloppy language since they also say it takes 2 weeks from the 2nd jab to be “fully vaccinated”.

I believe the Moderna Vaccine was in part subsidized by the German government. Not that it changes your point much just a small factoid. FWIW I agree, we paid for it, we developed it, we should get first shot at it, pun intended.
I have mixed feelings about most everything else. There are like a dozen new billionaires thanks to these vaccines. If these things are a panacea and this is a pandemic then they should be outsourcing production to deliver it to everyone who wants them as fast as possible. What good is vaccinating Americans if other people are free to come and go, and our trading partners are crippled by disease? It will take years to make enough vaccine for the entire world population. And yes I know there are Russian, Indian, Chinese and a few other vaccines out there (AstraZeneca etc). All assuming they will actually work long-term to stop contagion. Delta, Lambda and others raise questions about that, as does data from the UK and Israel about vaccinated infection and hospitalization rates. Even Gibraltar, 99% vaccinated, is going into another lockdown.

The Johnson&Johnson vaccine is one dose and you’re fully vaccinated.
So they’re counting those too.
Pfizer, Moderna requires 2 doses. After the second dose it’s counted as fully vaccinated.
Yes, after the second dose it takes about 2 weeks to really get going.
But after one dose of the Pfizer or Moderna you have as much protection as the one dose of J&J.
It was the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine. In fact, Pfizer bought their way in, as the German company BioNTech needed a partner with massive global distribution and manufacturing. They also brought a trusted and recognized name, since nobody had heard of BioNTech, even though they had some of the top mRNA researchers in the world.
Curious then that the Israeli government jumped on that one first ;-)
The Chinese vaccines are utter garbage. They don’t work. At best, they’re 50/50. Not a big surprise considering it’s - you know - China.
The Russian vaccine MAY work, but since they won’t release the Phase 3 clinical trial data to anyone, we really don’t know for sure. We DO know that Russia has been lying about their COVID-19 data (cases and deaths). Various studies on their mortality data have confirmed that what they’ve claimed is impossible.
The AstraZeneca vaccine works fairly well, but there are a lot of questions about their clinical trial data and their overall safety profile. It’s definitely a lot safer than getting COVID-19, but if you have options, that would not be my first choice. India is primarily manufacturing other peoples’ vaccines, but they’re shipping most of those to other countries because they need the cash. They’ve also been lying about their COVID-19 cases and deaths. Local reporting within India confirms massive undercounting.
At the end of the day, I’m not worried about some Americans making money off a great product they’ve produced. That’s the essence of capitalism. And if I’m being totally honest, as long as the US has first dibs, I’m not all that worried about what anyone else does. America first; for vaccines, for economic opportunities, and everything else. That was President Trump’s biggest winning message: America first!

That article is fever dream conjecture of what might conceivably be a problem - but just ain’t.
I work academically in the Beef Cattle Industry and am very familiar with Bovine Viral Diarrhea (page 66). This condition is quite common in the industry and much work has been done to identify calves afflicted with this condition.
Time will tell..
Looks like the journal in which the article you linked is published, is a recent creation of an anti-vaccine group of trial lawyers, who make their fortunes suing big businesses. Vaccine manufacturers are one of their main categories of targets.

I think that is the case, for reporting purposes. First and second shots (adjusted by the J&J counting both ways), seem to usually add up to close to what the daily total administered.
The two week delay might just be too difficult to/confusing to juggle, or they may not deem it that important for the purposes of the Program - the deed being done once it is administered.
