Officials in Provincetown issued a new mask advisory on Monday after more than 130 people, some of whom are fully vaccinated, tested positive for COVID-19 in cases linked to the Cape Cod town's Fourth of July festivities. The new public health advisory urges everyone to get vaccinated, isolate and get tested if they experience symptoms. It also urges venues to enforce vaccine verification and suggests everyone wear masks indoors when social distancing cannot be achieved. Unvaccinated individuals, including children, are required to wear masks both indoors and when six feet of distance cannot be maintained outdoors, the advisory states. Masks...

Energy stocks plummeted as well following a more than 3% drop in oil prices. Chevron (CVX) and Exxon Mobil (XOM) were down nearly 3%.The OPEC+ group of nations also agreed over the weekend on a deal to produce more oil, a move that could boost supply and reduce crude prices. Long-term bond rates continued to slide as well, a sign that fixed income investors are now far more worried about a Delta variant-induced economic slowdown than they are about rising inflation fears. The yield on the 10-year US Treasury sank below 1.2% for the first time since February. But as...

From Summorum pontificum to Traditionis custodes, or from the reserve to the zoo July 17, 2021 Source: FSSPX Spirituality Put aside this mass that I don't want to see anymore Pope Francis yesterday published a motu proprio whose title could be full of hope: Traditionis custodes , “guardians of Tradition”. Knowing that it is addressed to the bishops, one could dream: would Tradition be recovering its rights within the Church? On the contrary. This new motu proprio achieves an elimination. It illustrates the precariousness of the current magisterium and indicates the expiry date of the Summorum pontificum of Benedict XVI,...

The hitmen came for Cecilio Pineda Birto as he swung in a hammock at a carwash, waiting for his pickup to be cleaned. The 38-year-old freelance reporter was shot dead ... A few hours earlier, Pineda had in a broadcast on Facebook Live accused state police and local politicians of colluding with a violent local capo known as El Tequilero. In previous weeks, Pineda had received a string of anonymous death threats. At about the same time, his mobile phone number was selected as a possible target for surveillance by a Mexican client of the spyware company NSO Group. A...

These images show the surface of the red supergiant star Betelgeuse during its unprecedented dimming, which happened in late 2019 and early 2020. The image on the far left, taken in January 2019, shows the star at its normal brightness, while the remaining images, from December 2019, January 2020, and March 2020, were all taken when the star’s brightness had noticeably dropped, especially in its southern region. Credit: ESO/M. If total sexual freedom was embraced by a culture, that culture collapsed within three generations to the lowest state of flourishing — which Unwin describes as “inert” and at a “dead level of conception” and is characterized by people who have little interest in much else other than their own wants and needs. At this level, the culture is usually conquered or taken over by another culture with greater social energy.

Last November, former Gov. Chris Christie made on appearance on ABC's "This Week" where he proceeded to blast then-President Donald Trump's legal efforts to contest the 2020 election. "The president has had an opportunity to access the courts," the New Jersey Republican said at the time. "If you've got the evidence of fraud, present it. What's happened here is quite frankly, the conduct of the president's legal team has been a national embarrassment." Even for Christie, who is known for his blunt talk, the comments were notable since he was considered to be an ally of the Trump White House....

In a statement Monday citing a July 13 report, the Coast Guard said it had sent a verbal challenge to Chinese warship spotted at Marie Louise Bank. The Chinese vessel eventually moved away from the area, the statement said. The foreign vessel sent a radio message identifying itself as “Chinese Navy Warship 189” and asked the Philippine ship tailing it to keep distance, the Coast Guard said. The two nations’ vessels have been locked in a standoff in the South China Sea for months, after hundreds of Chinese ships swarmed disputed territory earlier this year

We believe it is inconsistent with our values for Ben & Jerry’s ice cream to be sold in the Occupied Palestinian Territory (OPT). We also hear and recognize the concerns shared with us by our fans and trusted partners. We have a longstanding partnership with our licensee, who manufactures Ben & Jerry’s ice cream in Israel and distributes it in the region. We have been working to change this, and so we have informed our licensee that we will not renew the license agreement when it expires at the end of next year.

Salem radio host Larry Elder is pushing back on the reason the California Secretary of State listed for why he was not included on a preliminary list of gubernatorial candidates for the recall election. On Twitter, the conservative pundit released the letter he received stating that he did not qualify as a candidate for the Sept. 14 election due to “incomplete redacted and/or unredacted income tax returns.” But Elder said his campaign filed both—“over 200 pages of 5 years of tax returns.”“So they are saying either the redacted version or the unreacted version was ‘incomplete,’” he added. We filed redacted AND...

Vance and Masters are campaigning against the status quo. They believe that the greatest threats faced by America are internal, not external. They argue that we don’t need to liberate foreign nations — we need to liberate ourselves from a corrupt, oppressive elite whose members live in the same cities, go to the same colleges, hold the same opinions — and try to silence anyone who disagrees.
