Salem radio host Larry Elder is pushing back on the reason the California Secretary of State listed for why he was not included on a preliminary list of gubernatorial candidates for the recall election.
On Twitter, the conservative pundit released the letter he received stating that he did not qualify as a candidate for the Sept. 14 election due to “incomplete redacted and/or unredacted income tax returns.”
But Elder said his campaign filed both—“over 200 pages of 5 years of tax returns.”
“So they are saying either the redacted version or the unreacted version was ‘incomplete,’” he added.

Elder said the reason listed just doesn’t “pass the smell test.”
“Politicians know I’m the only candidate who can beat Gavin Newsom — and that why they don’t want me on the ballot. They’re using shenanigans that they invested to block the doors to the Governor’s Office and make sure they stay in power," he said in a statement.
“This doesn’t pass the smell test. The Secretary of State has invited me to sue to protect my right to be a candidate. And what about the right of the people to have the opportunity to vote for me? Unless cooler heads prevail in the Office of Secretary of State Monday morning and they walk back their unprecedented refusal to put me on the ballot, I will accept the invitation of the Secretary of State to sue on behalf of myself and the people. The voters won’t stand for it," he added.

A campaign spokeswoman, Ying Ma, said she expects him to be on the final list.
"Our campaign submitted every document required by the Secretary of State and the Los Angeles County Registrar" to qualify, she said in a statement, according to Fox News.
The final certified list will be released on Wednesday, July 21st.
They are scared Larry will win.
Democrat/socialist secretary of state, funded by George Soros, so what was the expected outcome.
Kick the likely conservative candidates to the curb, then back up and run over their legs as they attempt to crawl to a more favorable place.
Do all the guys run at once? If so, Newsome is a lock. If there is a runoff, top 2 for the final, the voters will have a choice between Newsome and someone else, it might be a toss-up.
Freddie the Flea should be able to run against Newsom and win. I can remember back when I think he was San Fran mayor & Johnny Carson was always talking about him on the Tonight Show. He was a joke then, too.
He didn’t do the required paper work. Maybe on purpose?
Rather see him in the Senate anyway.

Ballots will be printed before the issue is corrected. Run out the clock. A write in would be impossible to win.

Actually, Newsome is at risk here due to the insane CA law.
Newsome needs 50% +1 to stay in office.
If he does not get that, the candidate with highest total (besides him) becomes governor.

You are assuming California has an honest voting system.
I always thought that Freddie the Flea could beat Joe Biden.... But I had assumed (wrongly) that a fair and honest election was still in effect in this country.
If the answer to #1 = “dump Newsom”

Rush said Biden, back when Biden was at best a long shot to be the candidate, was the only chance dems had to beat Trump. His crystal ball got that one right.
