Downtown Oakland now looks like a Third World shantytown, full of tents placed by homeless people. There are thousands similar sprawling encampments in Oakland, and they’re not going away anytime soon. They’re likely to get even bigger. But Newson had other ideas, he thought he can walk like a Governor who enjoys a huge support in Oakland but received instant karma for destroying the city. A man has been arrested on suspicion of assaulting Gov. Gavin Newsom during his visit to downtown Oakland, authorities said Friday. Newsom was walking to a barbershop and pizzeria in Old Oakland to promote small...

President Joe Biden’s White House halted a proposed package of lethal aid to Ukraine, according to a Politico report. State Department officials and the Pentagon worked to develop the aid proposal before the White House National Security Council put it on hold ahead of Biden’s summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin. The package’s development came in response to Russia’s massive military buildup near the Ukrainian border earlier in 2020, and would have been worth up to $100 million, according to Politico. The Washington Post reported Tuesday, citing “people familiar with the decision,” that the Biden administration tabled the aid package...

Alluding to recent reports that more than 350 doctors and medical workers in Indonesia were infected with COVID-19 despite being vaccinated with CoronaVac, Associate Professor Mak noted, "It's not a problem associated with Pfizer. This is actually a problem associated with the Sinovac vaccine, and in other countries, they are now starting to think about booster vaccinations, even six months out from an original vaccination for some of these vaccines as well. "So it does give the impression that the efficacy of different vaccines will vary quite significantly," said Prof Mak, stressing that Singapore has "great confidence" in the Pfizer-BioNTech...

Even post-COVID, the exodus of wealthy New Yorkers will continue until the plague of city mismanagement also ends.Goldman Sachs is relocating 100-plus key employees from the city to Palm Beach, Fla., to save money and grow its operations strategy beyond Wall Street. That includes partners who earn a million a year before typically far larger bonuses. So while Wall Street execs who are pushing their people to return to the office make a lot of headlines, other CEOs are looking to move the entire office, or part of it, after the last 15 months proved how practical it is.Notably, Bloomberg found...

Far from being a war against “white supremacy,” the Biden administration’s new “domestic terror” strategy clearly targets primarily those who oppose US government overreach and those who oppose capitalism and/or globalization. In the latest sign that the US government’s War on Domestic Terror is growing in scope and scale, the White House on Tuesday revealed the nation’s first ever government-wide strategy for confronting domestic terrorism. While cloaked in language about stemming racially motivated violence, the strategy places those deemed “anti-government” or “anti-authority” on a par with racist extremists and charts out policies that could easily be abused to silence or even...

President Donald Trump was impeached under the false pretense of withholding military assistance from Ukraine (he never did). Intelligence Community operative Lt. Col Alexander Vindman testified to congress that President Trump’s decision to pause military assistance to Ukraine was evidence of some suspicious relationship between President Trump and Russian President Putin…. The media proclaimed Trump was working to assist Russia because President Putin likely had pee tapes, or something.

The masks are coming off. States are reopening. Vaccination rates are still rolling. The level of infection is low. Deaths are down. News outlets, like Axios, are nixing their weekly COVID maps because there’s no need. The pandemic is over. The New York Giants recently announced the stadium will not only be operating at full capacity, but there will be no mask requirement, no negative COVID test requirement, or proof of vaccination. Tailgating will also be allowed. It’s key since if one organization is going to do it, they all will. Look how long it took for Yankee Stadium to...

SANTA FE — New Mexico is set to fully reopen on July 1 — with the help of some rounding up to reach a 60% vaccine goal set by Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham. The Democratic governor said Friday the state’s push to vaccinate residents against COVID-19 would continue despite the long-awaited reopening. “Frankly, we need to be better than 60% fully vaccinated,” Lujan Grisham said in a statement. “The variants across the globe and in the U.S. present very serious risks to unvaccinated people, even young people. State health officials also said that expected vaccine data from Texas and the...
