Take a popular protest song and make it upbeat. Put up there somebody that's as smooth and hip as they come. Just look at how he improvises and puts his own stamp on it. Removing the mike from the stand as his voice rises-3 things at once-totally undistracted. That was Obama. Both tapped into an American yearning for things upbeat as we are an upbeat people. It's just not our style. We do not pretend to be messiahs. Check it out and go to work on an answer. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sMj_vWA0_9U

Artistic representation of Gunggamarandu maunala. (Eleanor Pease) Say hello to Gunggamarandu maunala, or the "hole-headed river boss" – the biggest extinct croc yet found in Australia, and an important addition to the jigsaw of crocodylian evolution. The newly named species, known from a partial skull that was unearthed in Queensland's Darling Downs region, belongs to a group called the tomistomines. Before this, tomistomines had never been found in Australia. Today, there are only two crocodile species living in Australia: the Australian freshwater crocodile and the Indo-Pacific crocodile (also known as the estuarine or saltwater crocodile). The latter is the largest...

WASHINGTON, D.C.—Top Democratic lawmakers expressed deep dismay after learning that Israel, having at last ousted the villainous Netanyahu, plans to replace him with another Jew."Another Jew? I mean, are you kidding me?" said Ilhan Omar. "That has to be like, eight Jews in a row now as prime minister. Israel really can't find one Hamas guy, or one ISIS guy out there that can do the job? And people want to try to tell us they haven't established an apartheid state. Ridiculous." Although still head of the most popular party in Israel, Prime Minister Netanyahu has become something of an...

A month ago, Tucker Carlson raised concerns over the unusual number of deaths associated with the COVID vaccines. Prominent "fact-checkers" immediately scrambled to discredit these concerns as "misleading" and "lacking in context." FactCheck.org even went on to say, "it's wrong to suggest that reported deaths in the VAERS System database were all caused by vaccines," but Tucker Carlson never made this claim. The news site Revolver provided context with a graph that showed an astonishing 3,000% spike in vaccine-related deaths. Unfortunately, the article did not provide a link to the source, and the "Open VAERS" website is cumbersome to navigate. Fortunately...

In response to China's increasingly powerful blue-water navy and deployment of long-range "carrier killer" anti-ship ballistic missiles, the U.S. Army has developed a suite of weapons designed to destroy or suppress Chinese targets from very long ranges, and do so quickly and precisely while reducing the threat these Chinese weapons pose to vital Navy and Air Force offensive weaponry. The commander of U.S. Indo-Pacific Command, Navy Admiral Philip Davidson, recently told the Senate Armed Services Committee he likes the Army's idea. When Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) posed a question about China's disruptive military power in the western Pacific, Davidson replied,...

It’s the first Hawaii hate crime case brought by the feds in 20 years, but U.S. Attorney Kenji Price is hoping to send a strong message about victimizing others because of their race or color. In 2013, Chris Kunzelman and his wife bought a house in Maui’s remote Kahakuloa village despite being warned that neighborhood residents “do not like white people.” Every time a non-Native Hawaiian had tried to view the house, Hawaiian residents from the deeply rooted village of approximately 150 people harassed and threatened them, scaring other potential buyers of the foreclosed property away, according to court documents....

Wednesday on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton cautioned former President Donald Trump and other elected officials from questioning election results. After claiming Russian President Vladimir Putin “helped elect Trump” in 2016 instead of her, Clinton said suggesting the 2020 presidential election was rigged or not conducted fairly is doing the work of Putin. She explained Putin wants to “sow distrust” and “sow divisiveness” in the United States.

Revolver.news is a new site and turned out to be one of the last honest outlets on the internet. A new piece on the site suggests an answer to some of these questions. We know the government is hiding the identity of many law enforcement officers who were present at the capitol on January 6, not just the one who killed Ashli Babbitt. According to the government's own court filings, those law enforcement officers participated in the riot. Sometimes in violent ways. We know that because, without fail, the government has thrown the book at most of the people who...

European Union countries have reached an agreement to ease entry restrictions for travelers from the United States and seven other nations and territories, officials said Wednesday. The whitelist, which permits nonessential travel from outside the bloc, will now reportedly be expanded to include Albania, North Macedonia, Serbia, Lebanon, the United States, Taiwan, Macau and Hong Kong. The change means people from those places should have an easier time entering the EU. However, it will still be up to individual member states to decide whether to impose additional requirements, such as a negative COVID test or mandatory quarantine period. Some EU...

In a show of bipartisanship, Vice President Kamala Harris invited all 24 female senators to dinner at the Naval Observatory Tuesday evening. According to Politico, bipartisan dinner parties used to take place more regularly prior to the past two election cycles. “The quarterly dinners were started by former Sens. Barbara Mikulski (D-Md.) and Kay Bailey Hutchinson (R-Texas). They were hosted at the home of a different senator every six weeks, with each lawmaker bringing a different dish," the outlet reported. "But since Mikulski retired in 2017, the dinners became less regular.” Another factor making the dinner parties more difficult to...

Antivirus software creator John McAfee is fighting his extradition to the U.S. from Spain as American authorities look to bring him in on tax evasion charges. While speaking via video call from a Spanish prison on Tuesday, the 75-year-old millionaire argued the charges were politically motivated. McAfee was arrested in Barcelona in October for allegedly failing to report income made from promoting cryptocurrencies. However, he claimed the U.S. just wants to make an example out of him.

St. John Paul II -- speaking for the Catholic Church -- stated plainly that abortion is murder. "The moral gravity of procured abortion is apparent in all its truth if we recognize that we are dealing with murder and, in particular, when we consider the specific elements involved," he wrote in "Evangelium Vitae." "The one eliminated is a human being at the very beginning of life," he said in this encyclical. "No one more absolutely innocent could be imagined." St. John Paul II then condemned murder by abortion as an act that is illicit in all circumstances. "I declare that...

Senate Republican Chair John Barrasso says he's determined to make President Biden a "one-half-term president." The Wyoming Republican didn't mince words when speaking at a recent breakfast discussion with the Ripon Society. "I'm looking forward to a very successful 2022. Mitch McConnell came under a lot of criticism for saying at one point he wanted to make sure that Barack Obama was a one-term president," Barrasso said. "I want to make Joe Biden a one-half-term president. And I want to do that by making sure they no longer have the House, Senate and White House."

US Vice President Kamala Harris has urged would-be migrants in Guatemala not to try to enter the United States illegally. Speaking on her first overseas trip since taking office, she said the journey north was dangerous and would mainly benefit people smugglers. Ms Harris warned people they would be turned back at the border. She has been tasked by President Joe Biden with controlling a surge in migration at the southern border. In a news conference alongside Guatemalan President Alejandro Giammattei, she warned against illegal migration to the US, saying: "Do not come. Do not come. The United States will...

The US economy is in a perplexing state of labor market purgatory. We have 9.3 million unfilled job openings, all while millions of Americans remain on unemployment benefits and millions more are opting out of the labor force entirely. In short, a labor shortage is throttling the economic recovery. But why? A new study published by the fiscally-conservative Committee to Unleash Prosperity offers a comprehensive examination of one of the labor shortage’s main causes: lucrative unemployment benefits. In March 2020, the federal government passed a “temporary” $600/week supplement on top of existing state-level unemployment payouts. It was reduced to a...

As temperatures rise to unseasonably warm levels across Texas this week, its citizens are being asked to use less energy on basics like cooking and washing clothes to ease strain on the state’s power grid that is struggling to generate enough electricity to cope with the high temperatures. The move triggers memories for many Texans of the cold snap in the winter that incapacitated much of the state’s power infrastructure and raises fears that Texas – and other US states – are not prepared to deal with the extreme weather events that come with the global climate crisis. The authority...
