Following the latest hot inflationary print, more investors are becoming skeptical of the Fed's view that inflationary pressures are "transitory". Yesterday, famed investor Paul Tudor Jones lamented the deluge of money pumped into the financial system by fiscal and monetary policymakers, and warned that markets might go "bat sh*t crazy" after Wednesday's FOMC press conference, which PTJ believes could be the most important meeting of Chair Jerome Powell's tenure, as the Fed sees its grip on a rapidly overheating economy start to slip. On Tuesday morning, billionaire hedge fund investor Kyle Bass warned during an appearance on CNBC that official...

A court livestream captured the moment when convicted rapist Harvey Weinstein learned that he will be extradited from a New York prison to Los Angeles to stand another trial on multiple sexual assault charges. The 69-year-old disgraced film mogul buried his head into his hands soon after an Erie County judge made the ruling Tuesday, as seen on a court livestream. Weinstein is currently serving a 23-year sentence at the upstate New York Wende Correctional Facility on convictions of third-degree rape and first-degree criminal sexual act.

Explanation: There's a new rover on Mars. In mid-May, China's Tianwen-1 mission delivered the Zhurong rover onto the red planet. As Mars means Planet of Fire in Chinese, the Zhurong rover's name means, roughly, God of Fire in Chinese mythology. Zhurong landed in northern Utopia Planitia, the largest known impact basin in the Solar System, and an area reported to have much underground ice. Among many other scientific instruments, Zhurong carries ground-penetrating radar that can detect ice buried even 100-meters deep. Car-sized Zhurong is pictured here next to its landing base. The image was snapped by a remote camera deployed...

Greek-Orthodox Archpriest: Don’t Touch Traditional Latin Mass!AldoMariaValli.it published an interview with Vasilios Koutsourás who is presented as a Greek-orthodox archpriest. Koutsourás is telling the Catholics to preserve the ancient Roman Liturgy. He explains that this is one of the oldest rites of the universal Church. The Roman Canon, which is virtually never used in the New Rite, is likely of apostolic origin.According to Koutsourás, the ecumenical dialogue between the Church and the Orthodox should be based on the ancient dogmatic, patristic and liturgical texts, especially those of the first millennium, the time before the split. Quote, “In these texts, one...

After weeks of deliberation and a yearlong effort by students and alumni of the district to address concerns related to equity and inclusion, the Elmbrook School Board decided June 8 to leave the proposed equity principles out of its upcoming strategy plan. Discussions related to equity work within the school district will continue during the 2021-2022 school year. The equity principles, which were drafted by the district's equity non-negotiable workgroup, said the district is "committed to equity" and is looking to eliminate opportunity gaps for all students. They also discuss removing barriers to teaching and learning and touch on recruiting...

Donald Trump sent out this email a few minutes ago: I have accepted the invitation of Texas Governor Greg Abbott to join him on an official visit to our Nation’s decimated Southern Border on Wednesday, June 30, 2021. The Biden Administration inherited from me the strongest, safest, and most secure border in U.S history and in mere weeks they turned it into the single worst border crisis in U.S history. It’s an unmitigated disaster zone. We went from detain-and-remove to catch-and-release. We went from having border security that was the envy of the world to a lawless border that is...

NEW YORK (AP) — The Associated Press said Tuesday it will no longer run the names of people charged with minor crimes, out of concern that such stories can have a long, damaging afterlife on the internet that can make it hard for individuals to move on with their lives.

CNN) The Senate unanimously passed a resolution on Tuesday establishing June 19 as Juneteenth National Independence Day, a US holiday commemorating the end of slavery in the United States. The legislation has gained momentum since the massive Black Lives Matter protests sparked by the police killing of George Floyd last year and the Democrats' takeover of the White House and Congress.

No matter how hard I try to stay on top of every bit of news that ever happens in America, occasionally something slips past me. That happened this weekend when Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot demonstrated how unhinged from reality she really is in a leaked email about her precious office time. -snip- First reported by the Chicago Tribune, the Mayor repeated every line of her rant for effect. It was an embarrassing display of childishness that some compared to the theme of Stephen King’s “The Shining” where the main character types repeatedly, “All work and no play makes Jack a...

This horrifying reality is yet another unintended consequences of sweeping government pandemic lockdowns.. From mental health to drug overdoses, some of the most apparent unintended consequences from COVID-19 lockdowns and pandemic restrictions have finally garnered mainstream attention. However, the global fallout from lockdown orders on the world’s poorest has flown somewhat under the radar—and will make the aforementioned dire consequences look mild in comparison. A research organization dedicated to documenting the consequences of government pandemic interventions, Collateral Global, released a May analysis reviewing the research on how lockdowns will affect childrens’ prospects. The results are astounding. “The COVID-19 pandemic and...

Jesus Torres can see a lot from his perch in the cab of a tanker truck. Cars with blown tires on the side of the pothole-scarred roads. Overturned tankers on exit ramps curved too sharply for large modern trucks to handle. And more often than not, red tail lights snaking into the distance. “They need to add more lanes to all the highways,” he said on a recent morning on Interstate 270 just after leaving the Phillips 66 terminal in Commerce City. Far too often, Torres said, accidents on this highway through Colorado’s industrial center will cause long delays that...

Foot pursuits are to be discontinued for reasons including the officer believing they wouldn’t be able to control the suspect in the case of a confrontation. Chicago police will be adopting a new foot chase police that looks to limit when an officer can engage in the tactic. This comes after two cases of police killing someone they were in pursuit of on foot. The new policy, which goes into effect on June 11, prohibits foot chases in connection to minor traffic offenses or for criminal offenses less than a Class A misdemeanor, "unless the person poses an obvious threat...
