A judge cast doubt on the future of a Republican-backed 2020 election audit in Maricopa County that Democrats are trying to shut down through a legal challenge raising concerns about adherence to state election laws and regulations. Maricopa County Superior Court Judge Daniel Martin, who was assigned to the case on Monday after the first judge recused himself, said that he has some reservations about the review process but needs to hear more during a hearing set for Wednesday. “I will share with you all, I am not yet persuaded that there has been a showing that the rights of...

The most dangerous term likely to come out of President Joe Biden’s lips during his address to a largely empty congressional chamber is “institutional racism,” and it isn’t even close. No matter what massive spending policy prescriptions that are laid forward or draconian regulatory attacks are promised, the idea that the very foundation of our nation is illegitimate undermines the essence of America. Those who espouse the notion of “institutional racism” dismiss the quest for religious liberty which drove a small band of Europeans across the Atlantic to the shores of Massachusetts in December of 1620. In a world where everything that...

President Joe Biden has frequently made clear his intent to repeal the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act (PLCAA), and now it seems some members of Congress are looking to follow suit.Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) reintroduced H.B. 2814, a bill designed to achieve Biden’s goal of eliminating the PLCAA. The last version of the bill was titled the “Equal Access to Justice for Victims of Gun Violence Act.”Speaking in 2019 about the bill’s previous iteration, Schiff said, “The gun industry should not enjoy special privileges and protections. … This bill would pierce the gun industry’s liability shield by putting...

The crash left 14-year NYPD veteran Anastasio Tsakos dead. The Epoch Times has contacted the NYPD for comment. Mathisen said, “I really agree with you on that, because you see ads and you see banners at stores and whether it is Bed Bath & Beyond, or a Target or a local restaurant, or a big national chain like yours, people are looking for workers. Do you attribute most of that inability to attract workers to the ideas that workers are receiving and riding on unemployment benefits?” Fertitta said, “One hundred percent. It is the extra $300 a week. When I first said this on CNBC a few weeks ago. Everybody looked at me like I was crazy, and...

* Pfizer’s experimental oral drug to treat Covid-19 at the first sign of illness could be available by the end of the year, CEO Albert Bourla told CNBC on Tuesday. * The drug is part of a class of medicines called protease inhibitors and works by inhibiting an enzyme that the virus needs to replicate in human cells. * Protease inhibitors are used to treat other viral pathogens such as HIV and hepatitis C. Pay attention to this paper folks https://www.nature.com/articles/s41590-020-00808-x.pdf There is a reason science is a process and until you understand something you should keep your ******ned mouth shut. Especially when all you have against 40+ years of hard science is computer models. Massssskss was one of them. I warned early on that physics said masks could not work if the virus was in aerosols or transmitted in feces, no matter whether the feces were manually spread or through aerosols. We knew this was virtually certain when a mass-spread event happened twice in Wuhan and Hong Kong in apartments on the same...

Young people are far less susceptible to both Covid-19 infections as well as serious symptoms. Healthy people, such as track and field stars, are also considered to be safer than most. Being outside away from others is a surefire way to prevent the spread of Covid-19. Why, then, did Oregon force high school junior track star Maggie Williams to wear a face mask while competing? It’s an asinine policy that has thankfully been reconsidered, but only after Williams passed out at the finish line of a record-breaking race.Oregon high school junior breaks 800-meter school record and falls face-first at finish line...

Treasure hunters are planning to dig up what they say could be 48 crates of Nazi gold worth nearly half a billion pounds at a palace used by Hitler's SS as a brothel. The dig, which starts next week, is hoped to uncover 10 tonnes of gold along with other valuables in the grounds of the 18th century palace in the village of Minkowskie in southern Poland. The treasure was stolen on the orders of SS boss Heinrich Himmler towards the end of WWII to set up a Fourth Reich. It is thought to include the so-called 'Gold of Breslau'...

Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost has spent a lot of time pleading for patience and talking of the dangers of rushing to judgement in reaction to the shooting death of a 16-year-old girl by Columbus police officers. Community organizers, however, are calling for a U.S. Justice Department investigation of the Columbus Police Department, and Columbus Mayor Andrew Ginther said there is lack of trust between the community and police. Yost consistently has said half-facts lead to half-truths, tweeting two days after the death of Ma’Khia Bryant, “Let’s get all the facts and find the whole truth.” Yost responded to a...

Leftwing pundits have long predicted the demise of the Republican Party owing to demographic changes. They are quite sure they know what the weather will be in 50 years, so why not claim the same about politics? Unfortunately, panicky types on the right sometimes take the bait, predicting doom and gloom unless their fellow conservatives adopt some less-than-conservative policy position. This is the sales pitch made to conservatives for the National Popular Vote interstate compact (NPV), which would have states give away their electoral votes based on the national popular vote result. The NPV campaign is run and funded by the...

Calling FReeper historians. Please chime-in with your thoughts.I have studying some history lately relating to the Spanish-American war, particularly in regards to Cuba, and to a lesser degree to Puerto Rico and the Philippines; Guam not so much. One line of thought that I have been pursuing is with Cuba. The military success of the Spanish-American War is unquestionable. This is not unlike all wars the US has engaged. My curiosity comes from from the standpoint of success in the freedom of the Cuban people and to a lesser degree in success of US foreign policy. I contend that Cubanos...

Tuesday on Fox News Channel’s “Hannity,” Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) said Republicans have better prospects for gains than they had in the 1994 midterm elections following the 1992 presidential election of Bill Clinton. In 1994, Republicans took control of both the House and Senate for the first time in decades, which was accomplished under Newt Gingrich’s leadership

Justin Bieber is accused of cultural appropriation with the new hairstyle he is sporting that looks a lot like dreadlocks. Insider reports “dreads” or “locs,” which the “Peaches” singer previously wore in 2016, are “inextricably associated with Black culture and therefore considered insensitive for white people to wear.” Syreeta McFadden wrote in The Guardian that the Canadian-born star “could use an education on the hairstyle that has roots in Hinduism, Rastafarianism and black resistance.” Some point out it’s just a bad look for Bieber, regardless. 👉🏿👉🏾👇🏽👇🏽👇🏽👇🏽👇🏽👇🏽👇🏽👈🏾👈🏿 👉🏿👉🏾👉🏽👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼👈🏽👈🏾👈🏿 👉🏿👉🏾👉🏽👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻👈🏽👈🏾👈🏿 👉🏿👉🏾👉🏽 justin bieber 👈🏽👈🏾👈🏿 👉🏿👉🏾👉🏽 having dreads 👈🏽👈🏾👈🏿 👉🏿👉🏾👉🏽 is cultural 👈🏽👈🏾👈🏿...

Nate Silver often draws sighs from conservatives with his usually liberal takes, but a broken clock is right twice a day. And sometimes it’s on issues louder than others. The FiveThirtyEight founder has recently doled out some observations and data analyses that probably have infuriated his liberal audience because—well, they’re not really attacking Republicans so much as it is ripping Democrats and the media for peddling fake narratives on COVID. He ripped Anthony Fauci for gaslighting us on vaccines when the former said that the vaccinated still have to remain in their homes. He’s thrown cold water on the panic...

While it may seem obvious that the constitutional right to "keep and bear arms" extends beyond the home, federal courts have been debating that question for years. This week, the Supreme Court agreed to hear a case that could finally settle the issue, which the petitioners call "perhaps the single most important unresolved Second Amendment question." The case involves a New York law that requires applicants for handgun carry licenses to show "proper cause," which according to state courts means more than a "generalized desire" to "protect one's person and property." Applicants must "demonstrate a special need for self-protection distinguishable...

A former trans-identified woman who has de-transitioned is stressing the importance of treating those struggling with gender dysphoria “the same way we would treat any other young person who's struggling with mental health issues” instead of allowing them to alter their bodies permanently. Helena Kerschner, a 22-year-old de-transitioned woman who once identified as a transgender man, shared her story last Friday at the Q 2021 Culture Summit with the Center for Faith, Sexuality, and Gender President Preston Sprinkle. As a child, Kerschner said there was “no indication” she would struggle with gender dysphoria. And then, at the age of 15,...
