Source: Screenshot via Fox 9Since the death of George Floyd, our esteemed media, as well as their Democratic allies, have suggested that Floyd's alleged murder is representative of broader American white supremacy, that Floyd's experience with law enforcement is indicative of how American police pose an existential threat to black Americans. They have offered no evidence for this proposition. Not a shred of evidence has been presented to suggest that former police officer Derek Chauvin's actions the day of Floyd's death were motivated by race. Not a shred of evidence has been presented to suggest that black Americans live at...

Have you heard of Nike’s Air Max 90 “Bacon” sneakers? The pink-and-brown shoes mimic the aesthetic of the popular breakfast food. They’re pretty neat looking, and they’re reprising a similar pair released back in 2004. The shoes go on sale today, but if you’re not content with your footwear simply looking like bacon, now it can smell like it, too. Oscar Mayer is launching bacon-scented shoelaces to accompany the release of the Air Max Bacons. The beloved company, known for their iconic hot dogs, are giving away the laces as part of a sweepstakes. You can enter by tweeting #OscarCookMyKicks...

I admit that I sort of just rolled my eyes and didn’t care when Richard Torres-Estrada was tapped to be the Pentagon’s first diversity and inclusion chief. He’s a ‘woke’ czar—and he didn’t last long. I mean you cannot make this up. Days after his appointment, Torres-Estrada's social media history was revealed, and it was what you usually see from unhinged coastal liberals concerning Trump derangement syndrome. Yes, you bet Hitler comparisons were made. The inclusion director pretty much said our former president was a Nazi. Even though he’s no longer president, Trump is still finding a way to take...

A vandal defaced a George Floyd mural in the Valley on the first day of the contentious Derek Chauvin trial. The tagger sprayed the word “fentanyl” on Floyd’s face along with X’s over his eyes and mouth. Jeremie Bacpac painted the mural near 16th Street and Thomas Road nearly a year ago. “Have to fix that message. That was my first reaction. The purpose is to have a conversation about this,” said Bacpac. The mural shows George Floyd’s face on a $20 bill below the words the price of Black lives. “To the cops, his life was worth a counterfeit...

California megachurch Pastor John MacArthur spoke about the possibility that the United States is already under judgment for its acceptance of progressive sexual ethics, among other things, during his Palm Sunday sermon. MacArthur preached a sermon at Grace Community Church of Sun Valley titled “Chosen in Him,” mainly focused on Mark 12 and the passage commonly known as the Parable of the Vineyard Owner. The parable speaks of a vineyard owner who allowed tenants to oversee his vineyard, only to have them take control of it and kill everyone the owner sent to collect on what they grew. “What then...

Aprofessor of law sent this Washington Post story to me, with the comment: A suit to “Bob Jones” Christian schools—take away their tax exempt status for discriminating against LGBTQ students, just like what happened to Bob Jones U when it used to ban interracial dating. There are some technical legal problems (regarding standing to sue) for the private plaintiffs, but one wonders how much the Biden administration will resist. What does the Post story say? Excerpts:

In 1850, American author Nathaniel Hawthorne wrote a novel in which the female protagonist was forced to wear a highly visible “scarlet letter” as a sign that she had committed a terrible sin (adultery). The term has ever since been used as shorthand for publicly stigmatizing someone who has done (or not done) something for which they should be ostracized or punished. Now, more than 170 years after “The Scarlet Letter” was published, President Joe Biden, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, and others are calling for a 21st Century scarlet letter (in this case a “C” for COVID), in the form...

G. Gordon Liddy -- a former FBI agent, organizer of the Watergate break-in and radio show host -- has died at age 90, his son confirmed to CNN. Liddy died Tuesday morning in Mt. Vernon, Virginia, and though he suffered from a "variety of ailments," his death was not Covid-19 related, his son, Thomas Liddy, told CNN in a phone call. He had received the coronavirus vaccine three weeks ago. Liddy, who worked for the reelection committee for President Richard Nixon, is infamously known for having overseen the break-in at Democratic National Committee headquarters in the Watergate office complex on...

Artist's impression of the surface of comet 2I/Borisov. ESO/M. KORMESSER The interstellar comet’s pristine nature is a sign that perhaps our solar system is not so different from others in the galaxy. Our solar system is full of comets that whizz by as we track them over centuries. But humans have so far seen only two visiting objects from outside the solar system. There’s ‘Oumuamua, the interstellar asteroid that we think might actually be a flat pancake-like rock originating from the remains of an exoplanet similar to Pluto. It’s so weird that people thought maybe it was an alien spacecraft....

The New York Times is running with a story that claims “the Justice Department is said to be” “inquiring” into an “unclear” report that it’s “possible” Florida Republican Congressman Matt Gaetz was involved with a 17-year-old girl two years ago. Having sex with a minor is serious business and should be punished. No charges have been brought against the congressman. In fact, it’s “unclear,” to use the NYT’s word, whether it even rises to an “investigation.” Forgive us if we’re a bit skeptical of the same news outfits that “reported” planned leaks that Trump was a Russian secret agent who...

The chief executive of Delta, Ed Bastian, sent a letter on Wednesday to employees expressing regret for the company’s muted opposition to a restrictive voting law passed last week by the Georgia legislature. “I need to make it crystal clear that the final bill is unacceptable and does not match Delta’s values,” he wrote in an internal memo that was reviewed by The New York Times. ... Mr. Bastian went further, saying that the entire premise of the new law — and dozens of similar bills being advanced in other states around the country — was based on false pretenses....

Top cardinals say Pope won’t correct wayward head of German bishops: report<2h2 class="art-title">Bishop Georg Bätzing has repeatedly dissented from Church teaching, showing his openness to changes that would contradict what has been taught since biblical times.March 31, 2021 (LifeSiteNews) —The National Catholic Register (NCR) reported that Pope Francis has denied the request of two top cardinals to have the Vatican correct flagrantly heterodox statements by Bishop Georg Bätzing calling for changes to Church moral and disciplinary teaching. In the “largely overlooked interview” with the German publication Herder Korrespondenz published over the New Year and entitled “I Want Change,” Bishop Georg Bätzing,...

Nature’s strongest material now has some stiff competition. For the first time, researchers have hard evidence that human-made hexagonal diamonds are stiffer than the common cubic diamonds found in nature and often used in jewelry. Named for their six-sided crystal structure, hexagonal diamonds have been found at some meteorite impact sites, and others have been made briefly in labs, but these were either too small or had too short of an existence to be measured. Now scientists at Washington State University’s Institute for Shock Physics created hexagonal diamonds large enough to measure their stiffness using sound waves. Their findings are...

The World Health Organization (WHO) is not advocating the use of anti-parasitic drug Ivermectin for the treatment or prevention of COVID-19, its country representative told House lawmakers on Tuesday. According to WHO Representative to the Philippines Rabindra Abeyasinghe, prescribing Ivermectin without statistically significant evidence of its efficacy against COVID-19 is “harmful” since it would give “false confidence” to the public. This comes as several lawmakers, during a House health committee hearing on Tuesday, pushed for the use of the medicine for COVID-19 treatment and prevention. “The issue with the Ivermectin is that based on initial study and the currently available...

MADISON, WI - Wisconsin's Supreme Court is striking down Gov. Tony Evers' statewide face mask mandate. Continuing Coverage: Coronavirus in Wisconsin The 4-3 ruling was issued in a 78-page decision Wednesday morning. Republican lawmakers filed suit in October on the mandate. They said the governor did not have the authority to extend the state's public health emergency beyond 60 days without approval from the legislature. Wisconsin's current mask mandate is set to expire Monday after Evers signed a new emergency order Feb. 4. That came hours after the Republican-controlled Assembly voted to repeal a previous order that included a statewide...
