G. Gordon Liddy, convicted Watergate conspirator, dies at 90

G. Gordon Liddy -- a former FBI agent, organizer of the Watergate break-in and radio show host -- has died at age 90, his son confirmed to CNN.

Liddy died Tuesday morning in Mt. Vernon, Virginia, and though he suffered from a "variety of ailments," his death was not Covid-19 related, his son, Thomas Liddy, told CNN in a phone call. He had received the coronavirus vaccine three weeks ago. Liddy, who worked for the reelection committee for President Richard Nixon, is infamously known for having overseen the break-in at Democratic National Committee headquarters in the Watergate office complex on the night of June 17, 1972, saying later that "I certainly regret that the mission failed."

It was easy to call into his show, fewer listeners than Rush. I spoke to him a couple of times. I spent a lot of time on the road during that time frame and had a series of shows I listened too. Liddy’s was one of those shows. I believe he sold a guns and babes calendar to piss off liberals. One show he mentioned how liberals were upset that the CIA was advertising jobs in the Economist magazine. I went out and bought a copy and read it monthly for a number of years. I canceled my subscription when it became just another liberal rag. RIP G-Man.

Just a coincidence: Marvelous Marvin, Hank Arron, Liddy. Got the vax and died shortly after. These were very famous, elderly people....we don’t know with ANY certainty that the Covid deaths data is real. What the Hell is died WITH covid? So, are these men’s deaths died WITH THE EFFING VAX???

In the 1990s, Gordon was big on the 2A with his Stacked and Packed posters featuring scantily clad gals with a big guns, and his joking about Mrs Liddy, the enormous size of his balls - he was fun to listen to - he’ll be missed.

My husband got a good job where he would ‘fix’ companies. We lived in rural Kansas for about 1 year. I couldn’t get Rush so, while driving had to hear about hog bellies or old time religion. I was thrilled to find Liddy. He was informative, quirky, very smart and FUN to listen to. RIP to a man who did not run with the herd. Oh, and the Economist used to be my fav airplane reading....That and the NYTs....both utter trash now.

With Liddy’s passing I have lost my three favorites from the 90’s. Rush, Tony Snow and the G-Man.

Liddy received a 25-year sentence for the break-in, which was later commuted by Jimmy Carter but I think Liddy served about 8 years.

Liddy was a political prisoner. Try to imagine a teenager caught breaking in where nothing was stolen, nothing was damaged, and no one was hurt. What would his sentence be?
