Undeterred by the mayhem at the Capitol in Washington and the near-universal condemnation of Donald Trump’s failures in the dying days of his presidency, the small but committed Japanese chapter of the far-right QAnon movement is standing by its man. It is also advancing some absurd, albeit uniquely Japanese theories: The imperial family was replaced by “fakes” during the mid-1800s; Emperor Hirohito was British, an agent for the CIA, and owned the patent for the atomic bombs that were dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki during the closing days of World War II. […] A member of the group who goes...

Today Joe Biden issued a firm call to heal America’s racial divide, taking several steps and promising more to confront racism and inequality that he said has plagued the United States for far too long. Only 2,200 people were watching the live video on the White House YouTube page as Biden mumbled through his prepared racial equality remarks on Tuesday. Screenshot below: In his speech, Joe Biden accused all Americans of being a “nation of morally deprived” people. Joe Biden: I believe we are in a battle for the soul of this nation. And the simple truth is our soul...

With a deft maneuver today raising a point of order to require a vote of the full Senate to dismiss the sham impeachment case against Donald Trump, Kentucky Senator Rand Paul demonstrated clearly that the divisive Senate Democrats have no chance of obtaining a conviction in their ongoing jihad to keep persecuting the man even after he has left office. Sen. Paul is at his best when he is focused on being a thorn in the fat butt of Chuck Schumer, and he played that role delightfully today, beginning his parliamentary maneuver with an epic floor speech that should be...

A dentist and lawyer known for her past promotion of the "birther" conspiracy theory regarding former President Barack Obama has sued Vice President Kamala Harris and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) to halt former President Donald Trump's impeachment. Orly Taitz is suing to prevent the Senate from holding a second Trump impeachment trial more than a decade after she first made headlines for launching legal complaints in support of misinformation claiming that Obama was not born in the U.S., a bogus claim that Trump promoted for several years before becoming president. The new lawsuit was filed Thursday on behalf...

Patriot Action: Fighting Corporate Censorship By Establishing Free Speech States While private corporations are free to regulate the speech that occurs on their platforms and choose who they will or will not hire or transact business with, they are not entitled to enrich themselves with tax dollars paid by the same people whom they are denying the exercise of Constitutionally-protected speech, political activity, and gainful employment. The remedy to this problem is the establishment of “Free Speech States” with state-level legislation that prohibits corporations who do business with the state from engaging in censorship, deplatforming, and employment discrimination.

Explanation: How did this strange-looking galaxy form? Astronomers turn detectives when trying to figure out the cause of unusual jumbles of stars, gas, and dust like NGC 1316. Inspection indicates that NGC 1316 is an enormous elliptical galaxy that somehow includes dark dust lanes usually found in a spiral galaxy. Detailed images taken by the Hubble Space Telescope shows details, however, that help in reconstructing the history of this gigantic tangle. Deep and wide images show huge collisional shells, while deep central images reveal fewer globular clusters of stars toward NGC 1316's interior. Such effects are expected in galaxies that...

After lying dormant for nearly 20 years, the cacophonous 17-year cicadas will soon emerge from their subterranean slumber pods, ready to bring their “head-splitting” noise to the East Coast. “The end of May through June, it can get pretty loud,” said Howard Russell, an entomologist at Michigan State University, told USA Today of the groundbreaking phenomenon. The winged, black insects are classified in “broods” according to when they emerge from underground and raise hell. This spring, we’ll be hearing from millions of Brood Xers — one of largest broods in the US — who will likely be surfacing in 15...

This is so bad that I could probably present the quotes in this article without comment. The Washington Post’s top “fact-checker” decided to get into a back and forth with Stephen Miller (the other one) today. It did not go well for the former. The topic of conversation was the fact that the Post is being very selective in what they even bother fact-checking when it comes to Biden, specifically on his pledge to not ban fracking during the campaign. Glenn Kessler chimes in to let it be known that they only fact-check “policy” and not general statements. That’s a...

China announced on Tuesday it will hold military exercises in the South China Sea this week, providing few details of the operation beyond roughly where it will be staged. An American carrier battle group is currently conducting a freedom of navigation patrol in the area. Taiwan held an air defense exercise after a record number of menacing Chinese military incursions into its air defense zone over the weekend. According to a notice from the Chinese government, part of the Gulf of Tonkin near Vietnam has been restricted for the military exercise from Wednesday, January 27 through Saturday, January 30.

U.S. President Joe Biden’s administration announced Tuesday it was restoring relations with the Palestinians and renewing aid to Palestinian refugees, a reversal of the Trump administration’s cutoff and a key element of its new support for a two-state solution to the decades-old conflict between Israelis and Palestinians. Acting U.S. Ambassador Richard Mills made the announcement of Biden’s approach to a high-level virtual Security Council meeting, saying the new U.S. administration believes this “remains the best way to ensure Israel’s future as a democratic and Jewish state while upholding the Palestinians’ legitimate aspirations for a state of their own and to...

Leaders in Oregon and Washington are finally pledging an end to near-nightly chaos caused by antifa and other radical groups they gave free rein to while former President Donald Trump was in office. But they have a problem with their proposed crackdown. Bail reforms in liberal states are hoisting Democrats by their own petard...

If there were devices designed to measure the amount of political hypocrisy in the air, they’d be exploding all over the country. There’s a new party in control of D.C., which means everything that was bad is now good and vice versa. If you were quoting Thomas Jefferson on January 19th, you’re more a Hamiltonian today. Time to lift those draconian coronavirus shutdowns in California, Michigan, and other blue states; it turns out they’re hurting the economy! Travel bans aren’t xenophobic; they protect us! The procedural filibuster is a Jim Crow law! For four years, Democrats and their media portrayed...

The Senate sent a strong signal Tuesday that there are not nearly enough votes to convict President Trump in an impeachment trial when only five GOP senators rejected an effort by Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) to declare the looming trial unconstitutional. The Senate voted 55-45 to set aside Paul's motion, with all but five GOP senators siding with Paul. GOP Sens. Mitt Romney (Utah), Ben Sasse (Neb.), Susan Collins (Maine), Lisa Murkowski (Alaska) and Pat Toomey (Pa.) voted with Democrats to table Paul's point of order. The vote is the clearest sign yet that Trump is heading toward a second...
