CALAIS, France (Reuters) - Moments after Britain completed its divorce with the European Union, the first trucks hauling goods across the new customs border presented their clearance documents to French agents before loading onto a train to pass through the Eurotunnel. A barcode on Romanian driver Toma Moise’s paperwork was scanned and approved in seconds. “The future, I don’t think it will be difficult,” he said in broken English before continuing his journey towards Britain. Cast as the dawn of a newly independent “global Britain”, its exit from the world’s biggest trading block means the return of customs formalities on...

SALEM, Ore. (KTVZ) -- Gov. Kate Brown issued a stern warning Thursday that Oregon businesses who defy her executive orders, which she said have reduced the spread of COVID-19, will face enforcement through fines or even 'Red Warning' closure notices. Red Warning Notices apply to businesses that appear to be in willful violation of the governor’s executive orders or who refuse to take corrective measures, the governor's office said. Such businesses are closed until the hazardous condition is remedied. Violation of a Red Warning Notice results in stiff penalties, they added. Under Oregon OSHA rules, a Red Warning Notice can...

The group behind the suspected Russian attack into U.S. government agencies and private companies was able to hack into Microsoft's internal systems and access some of the company's source code, the tech giant said in a blog post on Thursday. Microsoft had previously said it was among thousands of companies that discovered malware on its systems after downloading a routine software update from the company SolarWinds containing a possible "backdoor" for hackers to gain access to sensitive company data. But the admission on Thursday is the first time Microsoft acknowledged that the attackers had successfully broken into the company's systems...

Happy New Year To All Of Good Will! All Others, Stand By.I "borrowed" some of the phrasing of that title from the commander of an aircraft carrier, dispatched by George Bush Jr. to the ME in the wake of 9/11. Seems fitting here.According to the MSM, the commander announced over the PA system as the carrier left its US port, "Peace on Earth to all men of good will. All others, stand by."And here are just a few of them, standing by:The video clip shows the Bush family members stunned, having just looked at the contents of a mysterious white...

It seems from everything, whether in the media or in society that not only all the lock downs and media induced Covid panic/fear, but the election as well as not just sucked all the celebration out of everyone, but has sucked the desire to celebrate as well. So, while all the society is NOT celebrating, if the election had not been stolen by fraud at least one half of the society would be celebrating.

--snip-- Although we really can’t expect things to go back to normal at the stroke of midnight, we nevertheless look towards 2021 with a sense of renewed hope. In Hong Kong, and in much of the English-speaking world, we say goodbye to the old year by singing a traditional folk song set to the words of a Scots poem. “Auld Lang Syne,” best translated as “long, long ago,” or “days gone by” is a crowd favorite, although this year it better be a virtual crowd. The song has attracted a huge number of beautiful interpretations and arrangements from musical stars...

Alec Baldwin, love of my life, obsession of my soul. My super-size, gelatinous hunk of Soft Serve non-dairy product. Failed impersonator of President Donald J. Trump. Duped husband of an agile and flexible Spanish impersonator. Oh, babe, how I’ve missed you! But Alec, dear, sweet, demented Alec. You really need to calm down and listen up. That woman you married, Hillary/Hilaria, the one with the smoking body and a craving for celebrities with deep-seated anger issues, is not all that she seems. That ex-yogi, who has been passing herself off for years as exotic and foreign, turns out to be...

Explanation: Familiar stars of a northern winter's night shine in this night skyview, taken near Zhangye, Gansu, China and the border with Inner Mongolia. During the early hours of December 17 Orion is near center in the single exposure that captures a fireball streaking across the sky, almost as bright as yellowish Mars shining on the right. Splitting Gemini's twin bright stars Castor and Pollux near the top of the frame, the fireball's trail and timing are consistent with the second skipping atmospheric entry of the Chang'e 5 mission's returner capsule. The returner capsule was successfully recovered after landing in...

A signature audit of over 15,000 ballots in Cobb County, Ga., found no fraudulent absentee votes, according to Georgia’s secretary of state’s office. Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger’s office teamed up with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation to review what they determined was a "statistically significant sample of signatures on oath envelopes" cast in the county on Election Day. He said this is the third time the state confirmed the election's outcome and pointed to two earlier recounts. He said his office has been focused on "calling balls and strikes" and "in this case, three strikes against the voter claims...

A federal judge has agreed to allow a Georgia county to require that certain voters cast provisional ballots, just days before two runoff elections in the state that will decide control of the U.S. Senate. More than 4,000 voters faced eligibility challenges ahead of the Jan. 5 runoffs based on unverified postal change-of-address records. The new injunction from U.S. District Court Judge Leslie Abrams Gardner, issued just before midnight on Wednesday, replaces an earlier restraining order she had issued that prevented Muscogee County from forcing those voters to cast provisional ballots at all. The latest order represents a significant move...

Worldview Weekend has released another bombshell interview with retired 3-star General Thomas McInerney. In the interview, Gen. McInerney publicly calls on President Trump to realize the seriousness of the cyber-war attack on America by invoking the Rebellion Act, removing Habeas Corpus (as Lincoln did) and initiating mass arrests under military authority. This call by Gen. McInerney, a highly accomplished military veteran and loyal patriot, seems to stem from the realization that much of the existing government has gone astray and is now colluding with the enemies of the nation. State governors have gone villains, court judges have gone villains, and...
