Amman (Agenzia Fides) - For the Jordanian royal family, the Hashemite Custodianship of Jerusalem’s Islamic and Christian holy sites "is a duty, a commitment, a firm belief, and a responsibility we have proudly undertaken for more than a hundred years". With these words, King Abdallah II of Jordan solemnly reaffirmed the role of the royal family as guardian of the Christian holy places in his so-called "Speech from the Throne" on Thursday 10 December in Amman, on the occasion of the inauguration of the 19th extraordinary session of the Jordanian Parliament. "We have not, and will never, waver from defending...

Places of worship can legally stay open in all parts of the UK but church leaders are urging vicars and ministers to review their plans and think about whether they should, with some pastors deciding to close. Churches can stay open for services in all tiers in England, even in the new Tier 4 level which restricts people leaving their home except for essential reasons. This means families in Tier 4 could still see each other at church on Christmas Day, although would not be able to ‘mix’, interact or mingle. Churches in Wales can also remain open despite the...

Out of rabid concern about the monstrosity of a COVID "relief" bill, which seemed to benefit every illegal bum who sneaked into the U.S. and a bunch of absurd projects in OTHER countries (not the U.S.--we're only the eternal ATM machine for the world), and added tremendously to our national debt in a year the economy was dealt a serious blow from the COVID shutdowns, I emailed President Trump in the White House and told him he should VETO this bill. I actually received a reply a day later. It did not discuss any veto, but was just a generic...

But I won’t give up hope...

"We shouldn't forget Sindona, who was found poisoned in prison"Cardinal George Pell has claimed he was framed on child sex charges by senior figures in the Catholic Church due to his work on Vatican financial reform. In an interview with Italian media channel RAI 1, Cardinal Pell, 79, alleged everyone who investigated the church’s finances had been ‘publicly attacked’. ‘All the most important people that have worked together on financial reform, every single one of us, I believe with very few exceptions, has been attacked in the media and had our reputations besmirched in one way or another,’ he told...

President Trump appeared to threaten to veto the COVID-19 stimulus package that Congress passed almost 24 hours earlier, telling lawmakers to boost checks for Americans to $2,000 as well as “get rid of wasteful and unnecessary items” in the spending bill Trump said “throughout the summer, Democrats cruelly blocked COVID relief legislation in an effort to advance their extreme left wing agenda and influence the election…” “it’s taken forever” to get a package and the bill passed “is much different than anticipated.” “It really is a disgrace,” he added. Then reeled off a list of disgusting ‘pork’ (read the details...

Coroner Brenda Bock of Grand County, Colorado has claimed that of their five total deaths attributed to the coronavirus, two were really deaths as a result of gunshot wounds. “These two people had tested positive for COVID but that’s not what killed them,” she said. “The gunshot wound killed them.” This matches the trend reported by other medical professionals around the country. A report from CBS in Denver revealed that authorities were counting any dead people who tested positive for coronavirus in the last 30 days as “deaths among cases” – even if they really died from shootings, with Coroner...

President-Elect Joe Biden is planning to dismantle the legal wall at the United States-Mexico border that President Trump has constructed that ensures a reduction of illegal immigration through asylum agreements with Mexico and Central America. In statements this week, Biden and his advisers said they plan on taking down Trump’s legal wall that includes the Remain in Mexico policy, as well as cooperative asylum agreements with Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador. The agreements have allowed federal immigration officials to swiftly return border crossers to their native countries after failing to meet asylum thresholds. “The timeline is to do it in...

Neptune boasts some of the strangest weather in the solar system. The sun’s eighth planet holds the record for the fastest winds observed on any world, with speeds cutting through the atmosphere upward of 1,100 mph, or 1 1/2 times the speed of sound. Scientists still do not know exactly why its atmosphere is so tumultuous. Their latest glimpse of Neptune provided even more reason to be confused. The Hubble Space Telescope identified a storm in 2018, a dark spot some 4,600 miles across. Since that time, it appears to have drifted toward the equator but then swooped back up...

John Durham A ray of hope? The White House announced on Tuesday that President Trump signed an order on December 18 giving US Attorney from Connecticut John Durham the authority to present classified information to a grand jury investigating Crossfire Hurricane. Under previous DOJ rules and regulations the Attorney General needed consent from the specific classifying agency which allowed Deep Staters in the CIA to stonewall release of documents. As TGP previously reported, Attorney General Bill Barr appointed U.S. Attorney John Durham as a Special Counsel in October tasked with investigating the Crossfire Hurricane investigation targeting the Trump campaign and...

China’s submarine fleet is on track to surpass America’s by 2030. The problem is exacerbated by the U.S. Navy’s global mission set, requiring it to send submarines everywhere. While this stat is alarming, including the sub fleets of allies like Japan and South Korea shifts the balance of power back away to an America-led coalition. n the next 10 years, China will have more submarines than the U.S. Navy, as that country continues to both grow and upgrade its undersea fighting force. The U.S. will have 66 subs of all types by 2030, compared to China’s projected 76. But while...

It's no wonder to most folks why Artur Pira, owner of Aboca's Italian Grill restaurant in Richardson is one of my favorite people in the world. He's well known and loved among our city for his giving heart. My fondness for this hero began because of this scene that I witnessed just happening at his restaurant more than five years ago. ...I came across the website for Aboca’s during a Google search. It had favorable reviews. We had never been there before so it fit the bill. After sitting, I notice a woman sitting by us who the waiter called,...

The Washington Football Team said it is aware of pictures on social media showing quarterback Dwayne Haskins not wearing a mask while attending an event with strippers. The team said Tuesday it will handle the incident internally. Haskins tweeted an apology, saying he spoke with coach Ron Rivera on Monday and "took full responsibility for putting the team at risk. It was irresponsible and immature and I accept responsibility for my action." He also issued an apology to his teammates for "creating a distraction during our playoff push."

President Trump granted clemency on Tuesday to 20 people, including three former Republican members of Congress and two people who were convicted of crimes as part of the investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election. He also pardoned four military contractors convicted of killing 14 unarmed Iraqi civilians in Baghdad in 2007, and extended clemency to several people convicted of drug offenses. The pre-Christmas pardons and commutations came as the president has been exploring how to reward friends and allies in the waning days before leaving office next month, with more acts of clemency expected to come.

Owner Mike Pascale said it has been fun for him to see the happy faces "we haven't been able to see at Aurelio's inside our dining room."With indoor dining suspended across the state, restaurants are coming up with creative ways to bring Christmas cheer this holiday season, including having food delivered by a beloved Dr. Seuss character. Aurelio's Pizza of Plainfield has enlisted one employee to dress up as the Grinch, a pot-bellied, grouchy creature, whose heart is too small for him to truly appreciate the spirit of Christmas. The Grinch delivers food and even takes photos with the customers....
