BOSTON (CBS) – If there is one thing New Englanders know, its weather can change on a dime, and so can the forecast. If you read my little afternoon blog Monday or perhaps flipped on WBZ-TV and watched Eric Fisher, you heard things like… -Light and fluffy snowfall for everyone -Sharp cutoff to the snow shield north of Boston -Highest snow totals to the south of Boston That was SO MONDAY… Today those statements read more like this… -Light and fluffy snow NORTHWEST OF BOSTON, heavier and wetter along the coast and southeast with some mixing on the Cape and...

Everyone should be able to agree that we don't need more racism in America. On that basis alone, this proposal should be dead on arrival in Congress.Sen. Mike Lee took on fellow Republicans and the corporate Democrat press last week by blocking a bill that aims to establish a Smithsonian museum focused on Americans who identify as Latino. Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, and Sen. Bob Menendez, D-N.J., are cosponsors of the legislation, along with 234 House Democrats and 61 House Republicans. So Democrats are just stuffing the measure as an earmark into the current budget omnibus monstrosity. Republicans and Democrats...

Image: Wikimedia Commons.Like the M16 and many other rifle arms since the early 1900s (and a few pistols, most notably Israel’s Desert Eagle), the AK-47 is gas operated. Here's What You Need to Remember: There is a relevant cultural and historical legacy at work here. American arms are informed by a history and a legacy in which a colonial farmer could shoot down a squirrel or a British officer with a rifled musket from a hundred yards. Russian arms, meanwhile, are informed by a history of a lot of peasant soldiers slogging through the mud to engage. No wonder, then, that...

As in-person early voting began Monday for the January 5 run off election for two U.S. Senate seats in Georgia, significant changes for absentee ballot signature verification and drop boxes put into place by Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger and the State Election Board ahead of the November 3 presidential election without the state legislature’s approval are still in place. Local county registrars began mailing approved absentee ballots to voters for the January 5 run off elections more than three weeks ago on November 18, according to Georgia’s election calendar. Neither (1) the use of drop boxes for voters to...

Portland Fire and Rescue officials are looking to question a person seen in surveillance footage apparently setting fire to a local restaurant. The suspected arsonist acted after the restaurant owner criticized vandalism in the area committed by Antifa. On November 23, a suspected arsonist set fire to Reo’s Ribs located in Portland’s Hollywood District, Breitbart News reported. When firefighters arrived on the scene, they observed smoke pouring out of the rear of the building and flames both on the interior and exterior.

This is the prayer that Jesus prayed to His Father God, recorded in the Book of John, Chapters 13:1, 17:9-26, just before the Passover Festival and before He would lay down His life to save the world. Lord Jesus, as at this time we worship and praise You for coming into the world, we also highly lift up and magnify Your Holy Name, the Name Above All Names, for obediently becoming that Perfect, acceptable ultimate Sacrifice so that anyone who believes on You will be saved. Thank You!!!!!

The American media bid farewell to Donald Trump long before the official announcement of the results of the vote. According to journalists, Trump should go to his Florida estate in Mar-a-Lago, where he should stay "irrevocably." The United States have a new president through the work of the electoral college. As expected, many started talking about the electoral college being an anachronism inherited from the Founding Fathers. Tellingly, Hillary Clinton put her two cents in it too, who congratulated Joe Biden and Kamala Harris on victory. Political scientist Yevgeny Satanovsky said in an interview with Tsargrad, that the outcome of...

It’s hard to say the word “innovation” and not think of California. Technology has paced the state’s growth in everything from agriculture and oil to housing, entertainment, and aerospace. California has always been the harbinger of the American future, the promise of ever-greater economic and social progress. Yet increasingly, many of today’s innovators are fleeing the state. This past week, one half of the company arguably most symbolic of tech development in the state—Hewlett Packard Enterprises—one part of the now broken-up old Hewlett Packard and focused on lucrative areas like cloud computing and IT infrastructure—decided to leave for Houston. Within...

Freudian slip or does the Joe Biden era already feel a little old? A CNN reporter accidentally referred to the president-elect as “Joebama” during a live shot Tuesday, combining his name with that of the man he served as vice president and from whose administration much of his staff and cabinet picks are derived. “President-elect Joebama — uh, Joe Biden, rather — did finish speaking here just a short time ago,” said veteran journalist Jeff Zeleny, catching and correcting his own mistake.

If we have a Joe Biden administration in the White House on Jan. 20, we will have the most overtly anti-gun president in American history. Biden’s plan lists effectively every gun control measure ever proposed: banning “assault weapons,” banning “high-capacity” magazines, limiting the number of guns an American can purchase, holding manufacturers liable for the criminal misuse of their products, and many, many more. Out of the myriad options a Biden administration will have to infringe on our constitutional protections, which will they choose first? Based on my experience with clients and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives...

The first Covid vaccine is rolling across the nation, but many Americans are not buying the hype. Despite months of nonstop publicity in the media, only about half of those polled say they will get the shot when it becomes available. Fifty percent is not nearly enough, according to Dr. Anthony Fauci, who has already accepted an appointment as Joe Biden’s chief medical adviser. Fauci didn’t say if he and Joe Biden intend to vaccinate millions of other Americans against their will. According to Dr. Fauci, 75 to 80 percent of Americans must be vaccinated over the next nine months,...

Please bear with me as I struggle once again to order my thoughts in a chaotic situation. First, let's get right to the meat of the matter with the following excerpts from an illustrative essay posted at Substack on 18 November 2020 by one Alexander Macris: https://macris.substack.com/p/trump-at-the-rubicon/[excerpted text begins] Trump at the Rubicon — How the Insurrection Act and Militia Act Empower Trump to Cast the Die[... snip ...] Like Caesar, Trump now must fight for victory or lose everything. Come January 2021, will Donald Trump decide to cast the die and cross the Rubicon? He might. The same people...

Michigan panels granted subpoena powers to continue election probe Michigan’s legislation bodies granted the state’s Senate and House oversight committees subpoena powers Tuesday, allowing state officials greater range to investigate allegations of irregularities in the 2020 presidential election. “I’ve maintained that it is vitally important as we go forward in Michigan to ensure our election procedures are transparent, efficient and trustworthy when people go to the polls,” state House Oversight Committee Chairman Rep. Matt Hall, a Republican, said in a statement. “This stance isn’t a partisan one. It’s something we all should strive for.” The resolution passed by both the...

Those of us who are either in-house or independent EMC consultants can benefit greatly by assembling our own EMI troubleshooting kit. I’ve depended on my own kit for several years and it has proven not only valuable, but depicts a sense of professionalism in dealing with your own product development engineers, their managers, or your clients, as the case may be. Mine is designed around a Pelican 1514 roller case (http://www.pelican.com) that includes a padded divider, so it is easy to transport to the area needed. You’ll also want to order the optional lid organizer, model 1519, for carrying extra...

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau had ordered the Canadian Armed Forces to train members of the People's Liberation Army in Canada. Trudeau explained that "we have a three thousand mile undefended border with the United States. While Trump was president there was nothing to stop him from ordering his army to conquer Canada. Our own armed forces are too small to fend off an invasion. However, I thought that if the People's Liberation Army were to have a substantial force located here an invasion from the US could be deterred." The Prime Minister pointed to the lack of a US...

It was hard to help but notice – and be somewhat sad about – all those happy faces Thursday afternoon when President Trump announced that Morocco had become the fourth Arab country, after Bahrain, Sudan and the United Arab Emirates to formally recognize Israel. These four agreements – all achieved in the last four months – establish Jared Kushner, the president’s son-in-law and leader of his negotiating team on this, as one of the preeminent diplomats of our generation. These accomplishments, along with the president’s withdrawal of U.S. forces from former hot spots around the region, have dramatically remade America’s...
