“The Year of the Lord’s Favor” (Isaiah 61:1-4, 10-11) We’re coming to the end of this year, and what a year it has been! 2020--a year that will live in infamy! Our country has had a very tough year: Covid-19, economic shutdowns and lockdowns, people losing their jobs, people losing their businesses, people losing their lives. We had rioting in the streets, looting and burning, and governors and mayors letting it happen. We had a tense election season, with the results very much in dispute. What a year it has been! Those “year in review” retrospectives you’ll see at the...

M.J. Jenkins, a bookseller at Bookshop Santa Cruz, didn’t take the decision to start organizing a union lightly. “I was nervous, because unionizing can be seen as just a bunch of agitators. But that’s not what we’re going for at all,” says Jenkins, who’s worked at the bookstore for a little more than a year and makes $15.75 an hour. Jenkins and some of her colleagues have submitted a mission statement about their intent to unionize to Bookshop owner Casey Coonerty Protti. According to a post on IndyBay.org, there will be a protest outside Bookshop on Pacific Avenue Friday, Dec....

Half of Mari Hutching's home is in England, the other half is in WalesHow do you know what coronavirus rules to follow when the border of England and Wales runs right through your property? Well, you don't. Mari Hutchings' house has a Welsh postcode, but sits on the English side of a stream which flows down from Newland in the Forest of Dean at the top to the River Wye at the bottom and forms one of the borders between England and Wales. Artist Mari and her husband live in the village of Redbook, which is split in two by...

(h/t foldspace)Q is the result of the sacrifices and commitment of countless patriots to win back our captured country from the Deep State and achieve the transformation President Trump promised in this campaign video. President Trump has said the awakening of the public is key to this transformation.Q describes this awakening as follows: "The Great Awakening ('Freedom of Thought’), was designed and created not only as a backchannel to the public (away from the longstanding 'mind’ control of the corrupt & heavily biased media) to endure future events through transparency and regeneration of individual thought (breaking the chains of ‘group-think’),...

A federal judge on Saturday dismissed President Donald Trump’s lawsuit in Wisconsin that sought to declare election officials had acted unconstitutionally during the 2020 presidential election.U.S. District Judge Brett Ludwig, a Trump appointee, declined to rule in favor of Trump, opining that the president had failed to show Wisconsin election officials had violated his right under the Electors Clause in the U.S. constitution.Instead, Ludwig said he found that Wisconsin’s presidential electors were being chosen “in the very manner directed by the Legislature,” as required by the constitution. The president filed the lawsuit against the Wisconsin Election Commission (WEC) and other state...

President Donald Trump has an expansive view of how much unchecked power the U.S. chief executive can wield. For example, in a speech back in July 2019, he asserted, "I have an Article II, where I have to the right to do whatever I want as president." The Article II to which Trump was referring is the section of the U.S. constitution that outlines the powers given to the president. Among other things, that article requires that the president "shall take care that the laws be faithfully executed." An ordinary language reading of that section does not prima facie suggest...

As you’ve probably gathered from the title, things have yet to calm down entirely in the streets of the Big Apple. There was another demonstration this week by BLM activists, this time protesting the detention of illegal aliens. The usual calls for the abolishment of ICE (and/or the police) were being heard as the marchers flooded the streets, blocking traffic for many city blocks. All without a permit, of course, but apparently we don’t bother with such trivial matters these days.Things turned ugly around four in the afternoon when pedestrians filmed a car accelerating through a group of the demonstrators,...

In a move that seems to incorporate the direction that US Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito tacitly voiced in his accompanying statement Friday’s decision not to hear Texas’s lawsuit against Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Georgia, the Trump legal team is or has filed lawsuits in each of the Defendant States. The Attorney General of the State of Texas, Ken Paxton, filed a lawsuit in the US Supreme Court against the four battleground states alleging the election laws in each of those states were violated. The suit charged that because the procedural amendments to facilitate expanded mail-in and absentee voting in those states...

The untold story of a battle to reveal the truth about Dominion voting machines is brewing in Michigan, and not surprisingly, it’s getting very little coverage by the mainstream media. In a solidly red county in northern Michigan where Trump banners, flags, and yard signs can be found in almost every front yard, voters woke up to discover Joe Biden had walloped President Trump, only to find out shortly later that Dominion voting machines flipped thousands of votes cast for Trump to his Democratic challenger Joe Biden. The media called it a “glitch” and blamed it on human error.

MADISON - The state Supreme Court showed deep divisions Saturday as it contemplated a final push by President Donald Trump to throw out Democrat Joe Biden's narrow win in Wisconsin. The arguments — a rarity on a weekend — came amid a string of legal setbacks for the president. During the arguments, a federal judge in Milwaukee ruled against Trump, dealing the seventh defeat to Trump and his allies in 10 days over Wisconsin's results. The three liberals on the state's high court showed extreme skepticism toward Trump's arguments. Three conservatives showed some support for at least parts of his...

Eric Murfitt watched helplessly from a live security feed as looters trashed his downtown clothing store, Mercantile, during a riot on May 30. Murfitt said the business suffered $1 million in losses due to the break-in and had to file an insurance claim to stay afloat. But in November, Murfitt was informed that his insurance carrier would not be renewing the store’s policy. Nearly a dozen other insurance companies declined to even offer Mercantile a quote. So earlier this month, Murfitt settled for a policy that nearly quadrupled his premium, had a significantly higher deductible, included a much smaller cap...

A California Superior Court judge issued an injunction against Democratic California Gov. Gavin Newsom’s planned COVID-19 restrictions on a Catholic priest and his parishes earlier this week, citing the recent Supreme Court decision in favor of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Brooklyn. Judge Gregory Pulskamp slapped down Newsom’s mandates on Thursday in a case brought against state, local, and municipal officials by the Thomas More Society on behalf of Father Trevor Burfitt and his several churches. The complaint, which can be read here, argued that Newsom and those under his authority were discriminating against religious institutions in the name of...

Biden’s Gifts to Planned Parenthood Its acolytes are getting top jobs in his administration.“I think putting the work that we did to drive this election in context means that we are now sitting at the table with the Biden administration in a much different way,” Alexis McGill-Johnson, CEO of Planned Parenthood, said recently. “We need to make sure that his [Biden’s] personnel, the people that he’s bringing in key positions, like health and human services, are people who have a strong, unwavering record on reproductive health rights and justice.”Planned Parenthood isn’t just sitting at Biden’s table. It is dictating the...

Marion County kids can come back to school starting Jan. 4, two weeks earlier than originally anticipated. Dr. Virginia Caine, Marion County’s public health director, amended Thursday an earlier public health order that closed schools for in-person instruction after the Thanksgiving holiday. The original order called on schools to remain closed and to deliver instruction remotely until Jan. 18. Caine said that new data and changes in guidance from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention prompted the change.

The secretary of the Congregation for Divine Worship wrote to a petitioner last month rejecting their appeal against the Bishop of Knoxville’s decision to ban temporarily reception of Communion on the tongue because of the coronavirus pandemic. The congregation “received and attentively studied [the] petition making recourse against the decision of Bishop Richard F. Stika to suspend reception of Holy Communion on the tongue at public Masses throughout the Diocese of Knoxville for the duration of the public health emergency caused by the coronavirus pandemic,” [The CDW in its 11/13 letter to the petitioner] cited a letter sent in August...

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) is reportedly among several candidates under consideration to become attorney general in President-elect Joe Biden's administration. The Associated Press and Bloomberg reported Friday evening that Cuomo is among four people in the running for the top post, one of several Cabinet selections that has not yet been announced. Others who have already been floated to lead the Department of Justice (DOJ) under Biden include former Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates and Judge Merrick Garland, who was former President Obama's Supreme Court pick in 2016.
