President Donald Trump has an expansive view of how much unchecked power the U.S. chief executive can wield. For example, in a speech back in July 2019, he asserted, "I have an Article II, where I have to the right to do whatever I want as president." The Article II to which Trump was referring is the section of the U.S. constitution that outlines the powers given to the president. Among other things, that article requires that the president "shall take care that the laws be faithfully executed." An ordinary language reading of that section does not prima facie suggest that it gives a president the right to whatever he or she wants to do.
More recently, during a March 12 White House press availability, Trump was asked if he was going to declare a national emergency in response to the coronavirus pandemic. "We have very strong emergency powers under the Stafford Act," responded the president. He then added, "I have the right to do a lot of things that people don't even know about."
In a chilling op-ed in The New York Times, Brennan Center legal scholars Elizabeth Goitein and Andrew Boyle suggest that Trump's statement could be referring to the secret powers that previous presidents have granted themselves in "presidential emergency action documents." As Goitein and Boyle explain:
"These documents consist of draft proclamations, executive orders and proposals for legislation that can be quickly deployed to assert broad presidential authority in a range of worst-case scenarios….These include suspension of habeas corpus by the president (not by Congress, as assigned in the Constitution), detention of United States citizens who are suspected of being "subversives," warrantless searches and seizures and the imposition of martial law."

I think he’s been preparing for this since he got into office.
And yes... the level of infiltration into our government by foreign agents pretty much makes it his ONLY option...

Further imagine that Harris, Obama, and Clinton promised Xi that they would do his bidding and that "America will be utterly destroyed in the next two years. We promise."
And imagine that President Trump revealed this NSA recording to the American public.

I read that article 2 passage he quotes rather more like a warning to the president not to overstep or read more into the laws and powers he’s got, not to overstep authority of the laws he’s expected to enforce/uphold.
The entire constitution is a limiting document on government.

There’s a reason in modern war countries with low-yield tactical nuclear weapons don’t utilize them even when they would be perfect in certain limited situations - the understanding that it lowers the threshold and makes it easier for use of such weapons by others in the future. The same is true for emergency powers that basically suspend the rule of law for a ‘good reason’ and give their wielder absolute dictatorial authority for a while until the ‘good reason’ is resolved. It is amazingly open to abuse, and it is extremely precedent setting
America would never be the same again. Whether successful or not, the country would be forever changed. Half the country would see the actions as absolutely necessary in the face of usurpation by a massive domestic cabal seeking to destroy the country; and ironically the other half would see the actions also as usurpation but in their view being done by a dictatorial leader seeking to hold onto power by whatever way and in the process destroying the country! Whether people like it or not, the country is split in half and however things turn out there will be half of the country 100% believing the election was stolen. The only question is if it will be the Republicans or the Democrats, and that made me wonder if this was some foreign-led stratagem to destroy a country. Where no matter what side ‘won’ the country would lose all the same?
It is actually quite sad, and makes me think that the forces that orchestrated and perpetrated what is happening really don’t want the best for America and why I believe that as much as there are domestic actors the whole thing stinks of foreign influence as well. The sort of thing China and Russia would do, and makes me think of the subversive ‘color revolutions’ done in other countries where real schism is introduced among the population.
As the Bible said, a house divided cannot stand. The Dems are useful idiots, but I strongly believe the real influencers are foreign. And that they are winning, because however it ends up America will never be the same again.
Sad, but then again I suspect it was already irrevocably changed. Maybe. God help us.
I could go for mass detentions, taking control of media broadcast and continuous broadcast of the facts as they are uncovered kind of a forced awakening for the uninformed, seizure of everything vote related in all 50 states including software and machines, and absolutely no plea deals until every rat has rolled over.
Rats squeals and stories could be broadcast and voted on and ranked for severity before penalties were administered. In my world most would be hanged from a tall gallows with a short rope.

The laws have not been faithfully executed. Yet Barr and Wray still have their furking jobs. Articles of the Constitution mean nothing in the age of mafiocracy.
