  • South Dakota Judge Attempts to Ban Personal Carry of Firearms in Court

A South Dakota 7th Circuit judge, Craig Pfeifle, has initiated a conflict with the Custer County Board. The Board created an ordinance to allow people to legally carry personal firearms in the County Courthouse, as allowed by law. In effect, the ordinance removes the legal prohibition on people carrying firearms in the courthouse. There have not been any problems. The ordinance covers the courthouse, not the courtroom. Hearings in the courtroom only occur once a week. When they do, a deputy and metal detector are used to secure the courtroom. The Custer County Courthouse includes a museum type art display...

The world applauded the actress Ellen Page—star of Netflix’s The Umbrella Academy, and films like Juno and the X-Men series—when on December 1 she announced her decision to become a man, changing her name to Elliot Page. Meanwhile, my decision to no longer identify as a gay man because I follow Christ is anathema in our culture. Why the double standard? Elliot declares that “he” has finally become his authentic self. Why doesn’t our culture celebrate my decision to be my authentic self? Is my authentic self less worthy of praise?

This decision is not what the media is saying it was. – As was always likely, the U.S. Supreme Court declined late on Friday to hear the case filed by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton challenging the election results in four states in which he does not serve or live: Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin and Georgia. The corrupt news media is reporting this result as if the Court ruled on the merits of the constitutional argument made by Paxton, which is that these four states clearly violated the Electors clause of that document by allowing changes to voting procedures to be...

The Texas case got thrown out late on Friday. – The lawsuit brought before the Supreme Court by Texas AG Ken Paxton and 17 other state AGs was rejected by 7 of the 9 members of the Court late on Friday. I discuss the implications of that in a separate story this morning. We will miss having Tulsi Gabbard in congress. – Yes, she’s a Democrat and yes, I don’t agree with her on all that much, but this is a woman of great courage and conviction who is not afraid to stray from the Democrat Party’s daily script. On...

Remember that '80s song "I Need a Hero"? This whole year has me singing the chorus quite a bit. That's why Joe Biden and Kamala Harris are Time magazine's "Person of the Year." Meanwhile, the fact of the matter is the kind of salvation people are looking for does not come from politics, no matter how much we may want it to. I've often thought of Pope Francis' prayer service early on in the pandemic. You couldn't have scripted it better; it occurred on a rainy night in Rome, with the sounds of ambulances and other emergency vehicles constantly in...

Even though the origins of the fire were unclear Hitler blamed the communists and stripped individual rights and freedoms based on this “emergency”. http://www.eyewitnesstohistory.com/christians.htm Nero also used a fire of vague origins to scapegoat Christians and to pass laws justifying the persecution of Christians. There is a long history of tyrants using emergencies to justify the long term removal of people’s rights. Former Chicago Mayor Rahm Emmanuel said that one should never let an emergency go to waste. ... If congressional Republicans are adamant that the votes of the people of Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Georgia are illegitimate, let them stand up and object . . . and see if they ever win another election in those states again. Let Republicans try to explain to the country why what they propose to do to states that vote for a Democratic candidate won’t result in Democrats disenfranchising states that vote for a Republican candidate. With President Trump refusing to accept defeat and his core supporters stoked by hysterical claims that the election has been stolen — as opposed to...

“Sidelined NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick is getting his own ice cream flavor courtesy of Ben & Jerry's," wrote CNN this week. "The company said it created the flavor to celebrate 'Kaepernick's courageous work to confront systemic oppression and to stop police violence against Black and Brown people.'" In 2016, Kaepernick's claim to fame was when he said, "I’m going to continue to stand with the people that are being oppressed. There is police brutality. People of color have been targeted by police…There’s people being murdered unjustly and not being held accountable.” While proclaiming the sentiments above, which earned him Ben...

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., took to social media Friday night for a “Cooking Q&A” to answer questions and update her followers on what is happening with COVID-19 relief – a practice she has exercised since entering office in 2018. Ocasio-Cortez has used the sessions with her followers, as a time to vent and speak to her young base in a way officials in political office have never done in the past – something that members from both parties have been critical of. But the New York Democrat, often deemed a socialist by her critics, used the opportunity to voice her...

HOW TO CALL THE POLICE... WHEN YOU'RE OLD, AND DON'T MOVE FAST ANYMORE. George Phillips, an elderly man from Walled Lake, Michigan, was going up to bed, when his wife told him that he'd left the light on in the garden shed, which she could see from the bedroom window. George opened the back door to go turn off the light, but saw that there were people in the shed stealing things. He phoned the police, who asked "Is someone in your house?" He said "No," but some people are breaking into my garden shed and stealing from me ....

The second reading for Sunday Mass speaks to us of “the fire next time” and reminds us of the need to be ready for the coming of the Lord. In this homily I will focus on that reading, in which St. Peter reminds us of the passing that will come for us all one day.Because Advent is a time to prepare, through prayer and repentance, we do well to heed this sacred teaching and warning. It is echoed by St. John the Baptist, of whom the Gospel today says, A voice of one crying out in the desert: “Prepare the...

It’s been nearly six weeks since the election and electoral votes in swing states are in flux. Texas, joined by at least 17 other states, sought to sue Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Georgia for unconstitutional changes to 2020 election Laws. The U.S. Supreme Court, however, ruled that Texas has no standing.Texas and fellow litigants had a legal precedent from seven weeks ago. On October 26, 2020, the U.S. Supreme Court rejected a bid by a 5 to 3 margin from Wisconsin Democrats "to extend the deadline for counting mail-in ballots received after Election Day."Apart from all the squabbles, legal wrangling,...

A second federal probe was launched into Hunter Biden in Pittsburgh after Rudy Giuliani handed material over to 'Trump loyalist' Scott Brady, sparking concerns among the FBI, it has been revealed. Five current and former law enforcement officials, and others familiar with the matter, told the New York Times an investigation into Joe Biden's son was going on in Philadelphia in the lead-up to the election. Sources said Brady, Pittsburgh's top federal prosecutor and a staunch Republican, headed up the investigation at the request of Attorney General Bill Barr after Giuliani reached out with information he had gathered on the...

AUGUSTA, Georgia — Georgia Republican Party chairman David Shafer said Thursday during Vice President Mike Pence’s rally for the upcoming Senate runoff election that the state party is “trusting no one” as it prepares for Georgia’s voting process to begin. Shafer told the rally crowd of several hundred Thursday afternoon that Georgians must vote for Republican Sens. David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler regardless of accusations that voter fraud occurred in the November 3 general election. “The fight for election integrity and the fight for David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler go hand in hand,” Shafer said. Shafer was adamant that the...

Does it even make sense to vote in the runoff? I'm going to but what the left has learned is it can, if the democrats are behind, wheel in boxes of ballots with no chain of custody, all bearing the same signature and be counted twice each. The media will defend them, big tech will defend them, the courts won't get involved, democrats will laugh and the voter is screwed, again. It appears we're now headed for one party rule. The saying, "Those who cast the votes decide nothing, those who count the votes decide everything" is now the law...
