The world applauded the actress Ellen Page—star of Netflix’s The Umbrella Academy, and films like Juno and the X-Men series—when on December 1 she announced her decision to become a man, changing her name to Elliot Page. Meanwhile, my decision to no longer identify as a gay man because I follow Christ is anathema in our culture.
Why the double standard? Elliot declares that “he” has finally become his authentic self. Why doesn’t our culture celebrate my decision to be my authentic self? Is my authentic self less worthy of praise?

She will NOT be celebrated by lesbians. I forget the term - but to lesbians it is an affront to them. Like being a lesbian is wrong, so one needs to become a “man” to have sex with other women.
Stuff like this I’m reminded of how sometimes in battle, God would confuse the enemy so they would attack and kill themselves. The liberals are plenty confused.
1. They see the individualism inherent in it--particularly Protestantism--as not compatible with the globalist collectivism they dream of. It's individualist in that all one needs is a Bible and the ability to read it. There are no intermediaries necessary.
2. It's also associated with capitalism, due to the link with the Protestant work ethic.
3. It's focused on an afterlife, rather than world domination. Islam is focused on world domination and is at least nominally against usury, so they feel that it can be grafted onto socialism. But Christianity's goal is beyond their reach.

There are opportunities if conservatives and Christians step up.
Theaters need content that does not go straight to video and streaming services (if theaters are ever allowed to open again).
There is an underserved market for movies with conservative and Christian world-views (aka reality).
Covid has reshaped the film industry. Overblown expenses plus opportunities to make films at much lowers costs than ever before makes it much easier for independent filmmakers to compete.
Elon Musk is moving to Austin and will be getting into film. SXSW could become a viable competitor to AFM for filmmaking deals. This means that Texas could become a bigger player in the film industry, just as the fairly conservative state of Georgia has.
Film is an important category of art that we need to reclaim. In the present state of perpetual war, the battle is for the mind.
