On this date in 1990, Hossein Soodmand, a Muslim who had converted to Christianity in the 1960’s, was hanged for apostasy under the sentence of a sharia court in Mashad, Iran — the last known apostasy execution in the Islamic Republic. Soodmand’s post-conversion ministry in the Assembles of God church was not the sort of thing to endanger life and limb under the westward-looking Shah. But after the 1979 Iranian Revolution, there was a new sheriff in town. Soodmand was not the last convicted or condemned for the crime — and converting to Christianity is still a crime — and...

By 2017, the old Cold War alliances had become moribund. The centerpiece North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) had seemingly lost its purpose with the collapse of the Soviet Union. Russian President Vladimir Putin’s campaign to reassert Moscow’s power in Eastern Europe and the Middle East had not reawakened many of NATO’s member states. Placing the Afghan campaign under NATO did not help. Though President Barack Obama had gotten NATO to agree to a defense sending target of 2 percent of GDP by 2024, it took pressure by President Donald Trump to get alliance members to actually start moving towards that...

President-elect Joe Biden is poised to unleash “a flurry” of executive orders in the first 100 days of his administration aimed at “undoing” the Trump administration’s efforts to reform key government agencies. CNN reports that the executive orders, as well as a major economic stimulus plan, are being prepared to be pushed through in his first 100 days in office. The network cites transition officials in describing Biden’s “most urgent priorities” which include addressing the “Covid-19 pandemic, launching an economic recovery and tackling racial inequality.” “His transition team has spent months thinking through the unilateral actions Biden could take almost...

Eric Holder was a big loser on election night. He was the guy raising tens of millions of dollars to make America safe for Democratic redistricting. A red wave turned Holder’s dreams into dust in state legislative races. State legislatures are where the redistricting action is, and the GOP flipped three chambers red, gaining 192 state house seats and 40 state senate seats nationwide.

Where do these governors get the nerve to run point on a massive election fraud scheme? Actually, we the people are giving them this power. Though our Founders created a government by the people, we are allowing others to usurp that power, to take that power from us. Enter the "pandemic," where state officials openly reject the Constitution and make government the ruling authority. We've allowed their tyranny, and now we're trapped in a sick game of "Governor May I" where we need the governor's permission for every move we make. Restaurants Governor: You may take two baby steps. Open...

Update 12/3/20: A unanimous consent (UC) agreement for S.386 was reached and the bill was passed as amended. Congress.gov has updated H.R.1044 as "Passed/agreed to in Senate" and has made the text of the Senate amendment available.Jessica Vaughan, the Center's Director of Policy Studies, stated:This would make a very significant change to the employment green card system, and moves us farther away from a merit-based process. It rewards the companies that replaced Americans with guest workers. Will the President sign it? https://t.co/b1VlB5VKkx— Jessica Vaughan (@JessicaV_CIS) December 3, 2020View the passage of the UC agreement on the Senate floor in the...

New York Times blowhard economist Paul Krugman continues to brazenly contradict himself with impunity. The Washington Examiner’s chief political correspondent Byron York has finally had enough. In his Dec. 1 Daily Memo, York ripped apart Krugman’s latest commentary propagandizing that former Vice President Joe Biden will be “the first modern U.S. president trying to govern in the face of an opposition that refuses to accept his legitimacy.” As York summarized: “Krugman seemed to anticipate that some would respond that some Democrats refused to accept Donald Trump's legitimacy. But that never happened, Krugman claimed. ‘And no, Democrats never said Donald Trump...

Whenever president-elect Joe Biden makes a rare public appearance and is out of the immediate control of his team it increases my suspicions that he is not physically, and above all mentally, up to the job he is about to take over. Last week, Biden fractured his foot and now must wear a walking boot for several weeks while it heals. The Biden staff claims the fracture occurred while he played with his dog, Major. They also want us to know the German Shepherd is a rescue dog, which is a joke waiting to be told, full of irony. Who...

On multiple occasions, between Oct. 1-14 and again on Nov. 28 while at Mayrant Road, Bethea engaged in sexual battery with the child, according to the release. Bethea also encouraged the girl to leave...

It’s what many of you ask me the most - and the question I feel most ashamed to answer. It’s what many of you ask me the most, and the question I feel most ashamed to answer. Partly because I don’t have proof of what I am about to tell you. But also because I was once the one banging on about how blooming marvelous he was and why he was lined up to be my fourth husband (or was it fifth?). Not only did I announce this publicly, but the last time I saw him in person I actually...

The truth about the recent Armenian/Azerbaijani war. Raymond Ibrahim is a Shillman Fellow at the David Horowitz Freedom Center Although the recent conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan has been presented as a “territorial dispute,” something else—namely religious animosity, or that old Islamic hate for infidels—has permeated it. For example, several reports and testimonials, including by an independent French journalist, confirmed that Turkey was funneling jihadi/terrorist groups that had been operating in Syria and Libya—including the pro-Muslim Brotherhood Hamza Division, which kept naked, sex slave women in prison—to terrorize the Armenians. Similarly, Armenian churches that have come under Azerbaijani control have...

Portland State University announced in August its plan to disarm campus police officers by replacing their firearms with tasers, but those plans have been put on a temporary hold. The plan to disarm officers was announced earlier in 2020 after rallies and protesters at PSU called for justice for Jason Washington, who was killed by officers in 2018. Campus Reform reported on the efforts of PSU students and staff to disarm officers in 2019. Campus Police Chief Willie Halliburton stated that in order for unarmed officers to be safe, the school would need two officers for every shift, which hasn’t...
