My Family Life in the USSR and America Vera Ivanchuk 3 days ago·21 min read Hello, my name is Vera. A conversation with my 21 yr old son who is a university student, prompted me to write this article. We spoke about life. From our conversation I understand that some young people do not like America and do not appreciate what they have. They want socialism. But I think they have no idea what socialism really is. Lots of books have been written about socialism, but I will tell my story, not from books, but from my real life....

WASHINGTON — Senate Republicans voted overwhelmingly Sunday to advance Supreme Court nominee Amy Coney Barrett toward final confirmation despite Democratic objections, just over a week before the presidential election. The vote was 51-48. Barrett's confirmation on Monday was hardly in doubt, with majority Republicans mostly united in support behind President Donald Trump's pick. But Democrats were poised to keep the Senate in session into the night in attempts to stall, arguing that the Nov. 3 election winner should choose the nominee to fill the vacancy left by the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Republicans are excited by the chance to...

I am in the market for a new mattress, our memory foam mattress has given out, and I've ended up sleeping in a 'trench' for the past few months and it's time to replace it with a new one. At 5'10" and about 185, I'm not a monster who has smashed the bed. I'm certainly open to another memory foam type, it was very good when it was newer, but I'd like to hear from others. What are you using, how satisfied are you with your choice, and how long have you had it? Thanks to everyone who takes time...

The list of Bible prophecy teachers that say America is in end-of-the-age Bible prophecy is impressive. Speculation abounds as to why (moral decline, economic collapse, sneak attack, etc.). Most of the items in this article are about America’s declining morals. One, on Oct. 18, 2020, Dave Hodges reported that Pres. Trump recently said that if he is re-elected, vaccinations for the Coronavirus will not be made mandatory. I cannot predict who will get elected, but I pray that vaccinations will not be mandated. Two, on Oct. 15, 2020, it was reported that Kris Jacks, a member of the Colorado Democratic...

Famed U.S. astronaut Buzz Aldrin appeared to endorse Sen. Martha McSally, R-Ariz., in her race against retired astronaut Mark Kelly, a Democrat. "Martha, check six - Mark? Buzz - over 100 jet hours in Arizona," the 90-year-old wrote on Twitter on Saturday. "12 o’clock is straight ahead. 6 o’clock is behind. Fighter pilots understand what 'check six' means in FTR lingo talk. Martha, wave as you move ahead past Mark, to 12 o’clock, and you win for Arizona!"

Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden "has been caught in repeated lies over Biden Inc.," Sen. Ron Johnson, chair of the Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs, said on Sunday after the former vice president said "my son has not made money" from China during the final presidential debate. "The vice president is lying, again," Johnson, R-Wis., told "Sunday Morning Futures." "Check out page 78 of our report where we show a company, a Chinese company, CEFC, transferred about $5 million to businesses controlled by Hunter Biden. $5 million, so no, he's lying. He's lying about the fact he said...

The polls may be tightening as the 2020 presidential election is just over a week away, but Democratic nominee Joe Biden and his top advisers are already laying out an aggressive economic agenda that would make raising taxes their top and immediate priority if the former vice president is elected, FOX Business has learned. Biden continues to tell Wall Street supporters his sweeping plan for tax increases on wealthy individuals and corporations will likely be introduced as legislation almost immediately upon taking office despite the nation’s pandemic-induced economic slowdown, people familiar with Biden’s campaign strategy tell FOX Business. Biden advisers...

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., said that young Americans will vote for Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden, not because they think he is “their favorite person” but because they believe they can more easily sway him to act on behalf of their interests. Ocasio-Cortez, a self-described democratic socialist who supported Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., for president, said that while Biden may not hold the same views that she and others might have, he would be more receptive to their ideas than President Trump. "I believe that young people right now have a very disciplined activist mindset," she told CNN's "State of...

Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden is getting grilled in Pennsylvania ever since he said during last week’s debate that he plans to “transition” away from the oil industry. In three separate local news interviews in the key battleground state on Saturday, Biden responded to questions about his comment, as well as his mixed messages regarding fracking. “Look I'm from Scranton, Pennsylvania. My great grandfather was a mining engineer. So I come from coal country. And I'm not talking about eliminating fracking, I just said no more fracking on federal lands,” Biden told CBS Philadelphia. “With regard to gas, oil, coal...

In a society structured to foster equality of opportunity, three things tend to determine how successful someone is or isn't: intelligence (or skill), industriousness, and luck. On the surface, these things may seem unfair. For example, someone born into a family that promotes and develops education, who was taught about the value of hard work and had resources and connections on hand, would clearly have an enormous advantage over someone born into a split or uninterested family, enduring a failing public school system, with few or no mentors. Despite this, the equality of opportunity has two overwhelming advantages: first, success,...
