One detail that is seldom mentioned is that in Washington, D.C. there can never be a building of greater height than the Washington Monument. With all the uproar about removing the Ten Commandments, etc., this is worth a moment or two of your time. I was not aware of this amazing historical information. On the aluminum cap, atop the Washington Monument in Washington, D.C., are displayed two words: "Laus Deo". No one can see these words. In fact, most visitors to the monument are totally unaware they are even there and for that matter, probably couldn't care less. Once you...

One of the top officials for Joe Biden's campaign wasted little time late Tuesday to confirm that the former vice president has committed to participating in the final two debates before the November election. Kate Bedingfield, the deputy campaign manager, dismissed claims that he would skip the final two showdowns. Her remarks came after Sen. Chris Coons, D-Del., told Politico that he was not sure that Biden should make the commitment. Coons, a Biden supporter, said that he would leave the decision to the campaign, but he questioned the effectiveness of debates for candidates facing off against Trump. “The point...

It’s just the flu, bro. Following up again - anyone know if the Florida public schools relaxed their rules after Desantis’ elimination of the lockdown rules? - A few days ago I referenced a 0.5% false positive rate for Coronavirus tests. I am starting to think it is much, much higher. Essentially all these asymptomatic people testing positive are false positives. They have no symptoms and they don’t pass it on to anyone. All they do is contribute to the casedemic. The false positive rate will contribute to a steady state number of deaths that might wind up being 300...

Benjamin C. Maxson, then the stewardship director for the SDA world church, reported that since the 1970s, to October 2003, the Seventh-day Adventist Church has seen its tithe, or members donating 10 percent of their earnings to the church, drop 75 percent, per capita, adjusted for inflation. “Adventist Christians may not be alone in this seeming trend,” reported Barna Research Group, Ltd., an independent Christian research firm in southern California. “The number of American households who give at least 10 percent of their income to their church has dropped by 62 percent in the past year—from 8 percent in 2001...

I’ve been writing about the Wallace family and their support for gun control for 15 years now. Back in 2005, Chris Wallace’s dad Mike actually hosted a fundraiser for the Brady Campaign at the French Embassy. I raised questions about Wallace’s emceeing a gun control event, and eventually Wallace wasn’t allowed to cover the gun control issue for 60 Minutes any longer.

The campus battle over what I’ve previously called the equity agenda has recently shifted almost completely from a focus on gender to a focus on race. This has been accompanied by a series of surreal spectacles at the University of Washington in Seattle, where I teach. In the aftermath of the George Floyd protests, student activists have made new demands upon the school’s administration, while scathingly denouncing anyone they perceive as dissenters. Just consider our university president, Ana Mari Cauce—a Latina lesbian whose activist brother was murdered by the Ku Klux Klan. One would imagine that she’d command a certain...

...The man, who wrote under the pseudonym Bob Lefevre, claimed: “In reference to the Rapture, no man knows the day or the hour but the possibility of it occurring this year or next is extremely high. ...The author even went on to pin an exact date on his theory, believing it will match up with a religious holiday. He added in a letter sent to the Jamestown Sun in North Dakota: “The Rapture is the next occurrence on God’s calendar and is the literal, visible and bodily return of Christ in the heaven-lies. ..“One can easily know how he departed...

The debate went on without me. It is obvious that EVERYTHING connected to Biden and the Democrats is crazier and more manipulated than the Wizard of Oz. People are NOT that stupid, they're just not. This has gotten so bad that I have no idea what is going to end up happening. The only thing crazier is when Balaam's donkey talked to him and God made that happen. Next, they'll have a dancing Loon saying vote for Biden.

Claim: Joe Biden said on Tuesday that the Trump administration’s efforts to soften the blow of the coronavirus pandemic and revive the economy had only benefited the wealthy and inflated the stock market. Verdict: FALSE. The stock market has recovered much faster than many expected after crashing in the early weeks of the pandemic—but so has the broader recovery. The unemployment rate has dropped much lower than many thought it would, from 14.4 percent to 8.4 percent. The economy has added tens of millions of jobs as states lifted lockdown orders. Several of the administration’s programs bolstered Americans with low...

In the first presidential debate between President Trump and Democratic nominee Joe Biden, voters who watched Tuesday night say Biden won the debate, but those who watched the heated exchanges overwhelmingly called the debate's tone negative, and most said they felt annoyed watching it. Forty-eight percent say Biden won, while 41% think Trump was the winner. Biden's margin here is not too different than his lead in national polls. Ten percent called the debate a tie. Immediately after the debate, the CBS News Battleground Tracker interviewed likely voters nationwide who watched the debate in order to get their reaction. More...

I>Child cited for careless driving A 12-year-old boy caused a chain-reaction crash while driving his mother’s vehicle without permission, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. The crash happened Monday at about 6:30 p.m. on Sand Lake Road and Sunport Drive when the boy rear-ended a Jeep while driving his mother’s 2010 BMW. A Mazda and a Dodge were also involved in the chain-reaction crash, records show. All four vehicles were able to pull into a parking lot until authorities arrived. The boy was taken to an area hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries and he was also cited for...
