Portland Trail Blazers center Hassan Whiteside and Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry both reacted to Tuesday night’s Presidential debates on Twitter. Each of their tweets went viral. That said, the core of their messages were very, very different. Whiteside, apparently fed up with what he was witnessing during the contentious proceedings, tweeted out an interesting proclamation.

by Joe Callen Most online polls are showing that President Trump won his first debate with former VP Joe Biden Tuesday night. Polls with huge responses like this are typical on Twitter: But of course the major networks -- as they did in 2016 with Hillary Clinton -- ALL gave the edge to Biden. ABC by 10, NBC by 9, and CBS by 7 pts...

CLEVELAND, Ohio — Democratic nominee Joe Biden denied he supported the Green New Deal being pushed by his own campaign’s climate change panel during Tuesday night’s first presidential debate in Cleveland, Ohio. “The Green New Deal is not my plan,” the Democratic nominee told Fox News moderator Chris Wallace of the sweeping agenda which calls for the US to meet 100 percent renewable energy while creating millions of high-paying jobs. “Do you support the Green New Deal?” Wallace pressed the former veep during the chaotic match-up which frequently devolved into shouting matches between Biden and President Trump. “No, I don’t...

September 29, 2020 On the eve of the first presidential debate between President Donald Trump and former Vice President Joe Biden, the Simon Wiesenthal Center denounced an ad released by the Jewish Democratic Council of America. “Comparing the President of the United States to Hitler and Goebbels is beneath contempt. That a Jewish group produced compounds the offense. For 75 years Jews have emphasized the uniqueness of the Nazi savagery, racism, and genocide that mass murdered a third of our people and led tens of millions dead during WWII," said Rabbi Abraham Cooper, Simon Wiesenthal Center associate dean and Global...

During Tuesday’s first presidential debate between President Trump and former Vice President Joe Biden, the Democrats’ nominee vowed to raise taxes on average Americans. The former vice president said, as he previously has, that in the first days of a Biden administration, he would undo the landmark taxes cuts signed into law by President Trump in 2017. The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, crafted by Republicans in Congress, cut taxes for every bracket, and overwhelmingly for the middle class. Joe Biden: “I’m going to eliminate the Trump tax cuts” Joe Biden’s tax plan shows he is completely out of touch...

Former Democratic Vice President Joe Biden denied the existence of organized Antifa groups during the first presidential debate in Cleveland, Ohio on Tuesday. Fox News anchor Chris Wallace had asked President Trump if he was willing "to condemn white supremacists and militia groups, and to say that they need to stand down and not add to the violence in a number of these cities, as we saw in Kenosha and as we’ve seen in Portland?" "Sure, I'm willing to do that. I would say almost everything I see is from the left-wing, not from the right-wing," Trump replied, telling the...

Chris Wallace, the host of “Fox News Sunday” and moderator of the first presidential debate between President Trump and Joe Biden, said that he hopes to remain as “invisible as possible” during their faceoff on Tuesday in Cleveland, Ohio. “I’m trying to get them to engage…to focus on the key issues…to give people at home a sense of why they want to vote for one versus the other,” he said. “If I’ve done my job right, at the end of the night, people will say, ‘That was a great debate, who was the moderator?’”

A new drug offers children with dwarfism the chance at a life with fewer medical issues and closer-to-average height — but there is controversy over whether normalizing dwarves’ bodies is ethical. A study published this month in the journal the Lancet reported that a once-daily injection of growth drug vosoritide “is an effective treatment to increase growth in children with achondroplasia,” which is the most common form of dwarfism. “The main purpose of the drug is to improve the quality of life for children with achondroplasia,” Dr. Melita Irving, a consultant clinical geneticist and the leader of the UK trial...

Back at the first of the month, the media and NeverTrump were all gaga over an article by Jeffrey Goldberg in The Atlantic claiming that a) President Trump had deliberately avoided attending a commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I to be held at the US military cemetery at Belleau Wood, France, and b) that President Trump referred to the Americans buried there, mostly Marines of the 4th Marine Brigade of the US Army’s 2d Infantry Division, as “losers” and “suckers.”The problems with the story were manifest. First off, memos had been obtained under...

My friend. Thanks for writing. Here is my simple and uncomplicated answer. The Latin Mass is marvelous, a gift of God and the form of the Mass for over a thousand years, and one that Benedict XVI thankfully brought back into wide usage. The whole Church should be grateful and make full use of this liturgical form. I prefer the ad orientem posture of the priest in the Latin Mass, facing east. However, the Novus Ordo Mass is also beautiful and marvelous when celebrated correctly and reverently. They are both valid and beautiful gifts from God. The Latin Mass was...

STOCKHOLM — The scene at Norrsken House Stockholm, a co-working space, oozed with radical normalcy: Young, turtleneck-wearing hipsters schmoozed in the coffee corner. Others chatted freely away, at times quite near each other, in cozy conference rooms. Face masks were nowhere to be seen. It seemed very last January, before the spread of Covid-19 in Europe, but it was actually last week, as many European nations were tightening restrictions amid a surge of new coronavirus cases. In Sweden, new infections, if tipping upward slightly, still remained surprisingly low. “I have potentially hundreds of tiny interactions when working here,” said Thom...

A U.S. guided missile destroyer ship has broken the record for the longest consecutive number of days at sea for a military surface vessel, the Navy said Tuesday, underscoring the effects of restrictions related to the coronavirus pandemic. The USS Stout reached 208 days at sea Sept. 26, spending nearly seven months in the Middle East and the North Africa area, known as the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations. The previous record of 207 days, held by the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower and the USS San Jacinto, was also set this year. The Covid-19 pandemic has forced the Navy...
