Texas has smashed a new voter registration record with less than three weeks to go until the state's early-voting process begins. Since the last presidential election, Texas has added 1.5 million new voters, surpassing 16.6 million in total, according to the latest figures announced Tuesday by Texas Secretary of State Ruth R. Only 29 percent of Americans have faith that the 2020 elections will be conducted in an honest and open way, according to a survey released on Thursday from the Public Affairs Council. Twenty-one percent of the survey respondents believe the elections will be neither honest nor open. The Department of Justice announced today that the Western Union Remission Fund began its second distribution of approximately $148 million in funds forfeited to the U.S. government from the Western Union Company (Western Union) to approximately 33,000 victims located in the United States and abroad.
