President Trump plans to meet with shortlisted Supreme Court candidate Barbara Lagoa during a campaign visit to Florida on Friday, according to two sources familiar with his plans. What we're hearing: Sources who know both Trump and Lagoa say they still expect the president to pick Judge Amy Coney Barrett, but they view the Lagoa meeting as a wild card because they say she has a charismatic personality that would appeal to Trump. The majority view in Trump’s inner circle is that Barrett would be easier to confirm because senators are familiar with her. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has...

The White House PRESIDENT TRUMP: It is my profound honor to address the United Nations General Assembly. Seventy-five years after the end of World War II and the founding of the United Nations, we are once again engaged in a great global struggle. We have waged a fierce battle against the invisible enemy — the China virus — which has claimed countless lives in 188 countries. In the United States, we launched the most aggressive mobilization since the Second World War. We rapidly produced a record supply of ventilators, creating a surplus that allowed us to share them with friends...

Are human beings able to defy an authority's orders? What if those orders are evil? What if those orders run counter to everything we believe? We feel that in our heart of hearts, we would resist. We would stop. We would turn on that authority and refuse to continue. But is that true? Maybe we humans are more like sheep than we care to think. What does it take for abusive authority to turn us into evil and abusive sheep? Stanley Milgram was a scientist at Yale who asked this question. It was 1961, one year after the trial of...

SAGINAW, Mich. – For months we have heard about the "Silent Majority," the idea that the majority of our nation are conservative, law-abiding citizens who support President Trump. These Americans care about issues like jobs and the economy. They support law enforcement, disagree with Black Lives Matter rioters and, by and large, want government to stay out of their lives. In Central Michigan, the "Silent Majority" is alive and well. The problem, however, is they're silent because they're afraid of being retaliated against. "They know they can be humiliated and, probably, a little bit afraid of these activists coming in...

The Portuguese socialist spoke as the U.N. marks its 75th anniversary and the coronavirus pandemic continues its deadly toll.

Pelosi’s latest impeachment threat is proof she would rather use her post as speaker of the House to weaponize the chamber than as a means of accomplishing anything of substance for the country. In response to the death of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Pelosi threatened to impeach President Trump..... When pressed on what grounds she has to move forward, the speaker was shockingly coy,“we have arrows in our quiver that I’m not about to discuss right now.” As always, Pelosi's interests are 'diabolical'. Understanding that the House has no role in appointing or confirming Supreme Court nominees, Pelosi is looking...

The United States has navigated its way through some tough obstacles, such as a civil war, a prolonged economic depression and two global conflicts. But how do we navigate around hate in the hearts of Americans who have no love for their fellow citizens? How does the country survive the mobs who hate the country itself? That’s the question that comes to mind following a callous and casual comment made by a woman in Portland, Oregon, about the murder of a conservative Christian during a riot in that city last month. Aaron “Jay” Danielson, with the pro-Trump group Patriot Prayer,...

The exciting medical lesson that we should learn is that viral diseases are treatable. The political lessons are that the government takeover of health care persists long after the 15-days-to-flatten-the-curve emergency is over, and that the medical technocracy is disastrous to both health and freedom. It is blocking the use of the methods used in countries that have had a 75% lower mortality rate. Doctors have been telling their patients for decades: You have a virus, antibiotics don't help, just "tough it out." With COVID-19, most doctors are telling patients to go home, isolate themselves, possibly report on their contacts...

Justice in DragRuth Bader Ginsburg did a great many interesting and impressive things in her life, but she never did the one thing she probably really should have done: run for office. Ruth Bader Ginsburg wasn’t an associate justice of the Supreme Court — not really: She was a legislator in judicial drag. You need not take my word on this: Ask her admirers. “Ruth Bader Ginsburg had a vision for America,” Linda Hirshman argues in the Washington Post. What was her vision? “To make America fairer, to make justice bigger.” That is not a job for a judge —...

Judge Amy Coney Barrett has emerged as President Donald Trump's overwhelming favorite to replace the late Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, according to several people familiar with the deliberations, who say the President's view was solidified during a lengthy meeting at the White House on Monday. Trump has not finalized his decision, and with days to go until he announces his pick on Saturday, his thinking could change. But for now, Barrett -- currently sitting on the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit in Chicago -- is his clear front-runner and is viewed inside the White...

The Canadian woman accused of sending a letter containing ricin to President Trump has been identified as Pascale Ferrier of Quebec, authorities said. Ferrier was taken into custody Sunday by US Customs and Border Protection agents at the Peace Bridge border crossing near Buffalo, New York, where she is expected to appear in federal court to face charges. She was supposed to appear in court Monday, but her appearance was delayed until Tuesday afternoon, according to a spokesperson for the US Attorney’s Office, according to the CBC.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi slammed Facebook during a new interview with The New York Times' Kara Swisher. Pelosi said she held Facebook "very accountable" for posts on the platform in support of QAnon, a right-wing conspiracy theory that claims, in part, that Democratic Party leaders are involved in child sex trafficking. "I don't know how the Facebook board of directors or their top employees can look themselves in the mirror," Pelosi said. "They have clearly chosen. Their business plan is to make money off of poison, and that's the path they have chosen to go." Pelosi has criticized Facebook in...

Trafalgar Group, a Georgia-based polling firm known for its ability to correctly sample hard-to-reach, conservative Trump voters, shows President Trump with leads in the key battleground states of North Carolina, Florida and Michigan. During the 2016 presidential race — widely predicted wrong by the mainstream polling establishment —the Trafalgar Group was the only pollster within the RealClearPolitics polling aggregator to show candidate Donald Trump defeating rival Hillary Clinton in Michigan. Their polls in 2016 also showed Donald Trump winning Pennsylvania — again, they were nearly alone in projecting Trump's narrow victory there — and thus taking the White House. "Cahaly's...

PHOENIX — A Border Patrol agent shot and killed a suspect after officials said the agent was stabbed multiple times in southern Arizona on Monday night. Roy Villareal, the head of the U.S. Border Patrol in southern Arizona, said in a tweet that the unnamed agent was "attacked and stabbed multiple times while on patrol near Nogales." The statement within the tweet said the agent was patrolling on foot east of Nogales around 7 p.m. when they tried to arrest a group of people who the agent suspected were there illegally. That's when the agent was allegedly "stabbed multiple times...

A former Chief Science Officer for the pharmaceutical giant Pfizer says "there is no science to suggest a second wave should happen," but false positive results from inherently unreliable COVID tests are being used to manufacture a "second wave" based on "new cases." Dr. Mike Yeadon, a former Vice President and Chief Science Officer for Pfizer for 16 years, says that half or even "almost all" of tests for COVID are false positives. Dr. Yeadon also argues that the threshold for herd immunity may be much lower than previously thought, and may have been reached in many countries already. In...

Security sources said the blast had caused a number of injuries. An arms depot of the Iran-backed Shi'ite Muslim group Hezbollah exploded in southern Lebanon on Tuesday, a security source said, injuring several people and sending a new shockwave across a nation grappling with its deepest crisis in three decades. The security source said the arms depot blast, which sent a huge column of black smoke into the sky, was caused by a "technical error." The al-Manar television station run by Lebanon's Hezbollah said the cause of an explosion in southern Lebanon on Tuesday was not yet clear. The explosion...
