The exciting medical lesson that we should learn is that viral diseases are treatable.
The political lessons are that the government takeover of health care persists long after the 15-days-to-flatten-the-curve emergency is over, and that the medical technocracy is disastrous to both health and freedom. It is blocking the use of the methods used in countries that have had a 75% lower mortality rate.
Doctors have been telling their patients for decades: You have a virus, antibiotics don't help, just "tough it out."
With COVID-19, most doctors are telling patients to go home, isolate themselves, possibly report on their contacts and go to the emergency room if they are otherwise sick enough to be admitted to hospital (extremely sick, these days). If asked, most doctors will refuse point blank to prescribe the antimalarial drug hydroxychloroquine (HCQ). They "know" it doesn't work, based on the authorities' pronouncements, even if they have zero experience themselves.

You are 100% on the mark there. We have basically destroyed a few large industries here, most notably Oil and gas; housing, tourism and the related travel. We have disrupted our education system, be that as it may. We have made people more dependent on the government and worse by the government demanding that private businesses accommodate those out of work who cannot meet their obligation. IOW, moved them as dependents onto landlords. lastly we have further imploded the national debt. These are all outcomes that have not yet been fully appreciated by being glossed over by the grossly inflated stock market prices because there is NOWHERE to put ones money these days.

I have stated that I think Trump will win the election, and 2021 will be painful.

That’s why the Democrats have been screaming from the rooftops about how the vaccines are being “rushed”, how they’re “untested”, “unsafe”, and so on. President Trump is about to turn everything they’ve done to hype up COVID-19 against them. He’s about to become the man who saved us from the disease the Democrats tried to convince us would wipe out humanity.
Their failed strategy is about to sink their 2020 hopes for good.
