New Jersey native Charles Cullen may or not be the most prolific serial killer known in the USA. A former nurse, Cullen murdered an incomprehensible number of people over his 16-year career. Most of these deaths resulted from lethal overdoses of digoxin or insulin. Charles Cullen worked in multiple hospitals and healthcare facilities before he was caught in 2003. Under the watch of numerous supervisors, Cullen managed to end one life after another. When Charles Cullen was arrested and charged for the serial slayings, police investigators were confused by his testimony. The more Cullen discussed the deaths, the more detectives...

A teenage girl and her boyfriend have been charged in Lycoming County in what state police have described as a murder-for-hire scheme. Dillian Mikel Weaver, 19, of Williamsport, and Angelina Grace Peluso, 16, of Trout Run, are accused of wanting to kill her stepfather, Howard Blackburn. State police said they were angry because of his reaction to catching them in bed. There was no killing because an individual recruited to participate went to police. Weaver and Peluso were charged Friday with criminal solicitation to commit first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit first-degree murder and criminal use of a communication device. They...

What do you do if your neighbor has 15-20 people over and it’s in violation of stay-at-home orders? A JustTheNews.com survey found that 36% of voters would report their neighbors to the police. Forty-three percent (43%) would not. Suburban and Urban voters are evenly divided on the question. However, by a 53% to 28% margin, rural voters would not report their neighbors. There is a huge partisan difference. By a 44% to 31% margin, a plurality of Democrats would turn their neighbors in. By a 60% to 25% margin, Republicans would not. Independents are evenly divided.

Good one from Laura, looking back at some of the most outrageous predictions from the “expertsâ€: Cuomo with his “We are going to need 120,000 ICU beds and 40,000 ventilatorsâ€(reality was less than 25% of that), Birx stoking up panic with her “We could have 2.2 million deaths†nonsense. What is amusing is Cuomo with his smug “This is what the data and the science tells us folks†when he was demanding the 40,000 ventilators. Then there is the new study which says there is zero evidence that social distancing or lockdowns had any effect whatsoever on the number of...

People who are drowning are fighting for their lives. Because of exhaustion or lack of swimming ability, they're sinking under the water and getting farther away from the air with each passing moment. Such unreasoning fear sets in that they begin flailing around wildly, trying to grab anything they can find to pull themselves back to the surface. That unreasoning fear and resultant flailing around are called panic. (snip) You never approach drowning people from the top of the water. Instead, as you get near them, you dive under the water at least below their waistline; turn them around so...

Europe’s top coronavirus hot spots are preparing to lift lockdown measures after seeing the biggest dip in daily new confirmed cases and deaths in weeks. Italy, Spain, and France have all recorded their lowest daily spike in fatalities to date. On Monday, Italy recorded just 174 coronavirus-related deaths within a 24-hour period – the lowest daily increase in two months, Sky News reported. Spain’s 164 new death count was the lowest daily increase since mid-March. In France, 135 deaths were recorded overnight. Italy Italy, the first country in the world to implement a nationwide lockdown on March 10, is allowing...

Today, May 4, is another benchmark in the safer-at-home program launched by Governor Jared Polis in the wake of COVID-19, with counties that haven't extended their stay-at-home orders (as Denver and several other metro jurisdictions have through May 8) scheduled to allow previously shuttered offices to reopen at a staff capacity of up to 50 percent. Polis is expected to talk up safer-at-home policies at a forthcoming press conference. But in the meantime, he continues to be ripped on both sides, albeit for very different reasons. Protesters like those who gathered at the State Capitol on May 1 accuse him...

About 4.5 million Italians are returning to work Monday as Italy — one of the countries hardest hit by COVID-19 — begins lifting some restrictions meant to stop the spread of the disease. Italy has lost nearly 29,000 people because of the coronavirus, second only to the United States, according to data from Johns Hopkins University. More than 210,000 people in the country have been infected. Italy was one of the first countries to be racked by the disease. The government imposed strict lockdown policies on March 9, earlier than many countries started responding, as NPR's Sylvia Poggioli reported from...

Most of us have been in lockdown for about six weeks. The objective was to flatten the curve and reduce the total number of victims of COVID-19. Well, the curve has been flattened indeed, but how is it six-weeks later there are 25,375 new cases in a single day? With all the laws and policies implemented to knock out this virus, I expected we’d be on the last leg of the downward curve by now. But, instead of a peak and decline, we’ve had three peaks and shallow valleys between them. If people are staying at home, practicing social distancing,...

May 05 2020 Tuesday of the Fourth Week of Easter Reading 1 Acts 11:19-26 Those who had been scattered by the persecution that arose because of Stephen went as far as Phoenicia, Cyprus, and Antioch, preaching the word to no one but Jews. There were some Cypriots and Cyrenians among them, however, who came to Antioch and began to speak to the Greeks as well, proclaiming the Lord Jesus. The hand of the Lord was with them and a great number who believed turned to the Lord. The news about them reached the ears of the Church in Jerusalem,...

Despite California Gov. Gavin Newsom’s stay-at-home-order, some California business owners have begun reopening their doors to customers, saying their companies — and livelihoods — are becoming unsustainable. Juan Desmarais, the owner of Primo’s Barbershop in Vacaville, a Northern California community, told CNN he was forced to close his business after the statewide stay-at-home order went into effect on March 19. “I took on the risk so I’m the one who is absorbing the costs,” Desmarais said. “The only way to mitigate that is to do haircuts under the table and that’s exactly what we’ve been doing.” Desmarais says he’s shifted...

EL DORADO COUNTY, Calif. — At a tiny roadside diner in El Dorado, where the sign promises home cooking, people are not staying home any longer. Café El Dorado opened its doors for dine-in service on Friday for the first time since the statewide stay-at-home order went into effect March 19. “We either run around in fear of getting a virus or we're homeless,” said owner Cherie Baldridge. “I'm going to be homeless if I don't open my business back up.” From the packed parking lot to the bustling dining room, the restaurant saw its first lunch rush in more...

New York City, controlled by racist Democrats, is using COVID-19 as an excuse for the police to harass racial minorities New York City is controlled by Democrats. It’s one of the bluest cities in the country. The mayor is a Democrat. Of the 51 members of the New York City Council, 48 are Democrats. In the 2016 election for U.S. president, 79% of the voters in New York City voted for Democrat Hillary Clinton. That makes New York City one of the bluest, most Democratic controlled cities in the country.Democrats, as we know, are the party of slavery, the Ku Klux...

There is no current evidence to suggest that coronavirus leaked from a Chinese research laboratory, intelligence sources have told the Guardian, contradicting recent White House claims that there is growing proof this is how the pandemic began. The sources also insisted that a “15-page dossier” highlighted by the Australian Daily Telegraph which accused China of a deadly cover up was not culled from intelligence from the Five Eyes network, an alliance between the UK, US, Australia, New Zealand and Canada. British and other Five Eyes agencies do believe that Beijing has not necessarily been open about how coronavirus initially spread...

It looks, at first, like one of a zillion unfunny video clips that now circulate on the internet: “Once Upon a Virus” features cheap animation, cheesy music, and sarcastic dialogue between China—represented by a Lego terra-cotta warrior with a low, masculine voice—and the United States, represented by a Lego Statue of Liberty with a high, squeaky voice. They “speak” in short sentences: “We discovered a new virus,” says the warrior. “So what?” says the Statue of Liberty. “It’s dangerous,” says the warrior. “It’s only a flu,” says Statue of Liberty. “Wear a mask,” says the warrior. “Don’t wear a mask,”...

On March 6, I learned I was pregnant. Five days later, as the COVID-19 pandemic approached and threatened to upend our lives, my doctor, my partner, and I decided together to terminate the pregnancy. I understand what it means to be “pro-choice.” I have spent the past four years donating my time, talent, and money to Planned Parenthood whenever I can. I was (and still am!) a dedicated volunteer to support providing abortion services to anyone who wants it. Reproductive health services remain very much under threat, with some employers refusing to offer insurance coverage for contraceptives to their workers...
