As a baby boomer, I grew up watching a lot of war movies. In my childhood, World War Two was still fresh in the minds of most. A common theme in those films were stories of Nazi-occupied countries. I can recall one in particular about a peaceful Norwegian village occupied by brutal German forces. Most of the Norwegians chafed under the Nazis and their tyrannical rule, but there was always this one guy in the village who thought it was better for everyone to do what they were told and serve the evil occupiers, for their own good, of course....

Patrick Rooney, Founder of Old School™ (Natural Health / Success / Freedom) comments on The White House Coronavirus (COVID-19) Task Force press conference Thursday, April 23rd, 2020. During the conference, Vice President Pence introduced William Bryan, Department of Homeland Security Undersecretary for Science and Technology, who gave a presentation detailing the amazing effect of heat, humidity, and particularly sunlight (U.V. light) in quickly degrading the coronavirus. Incredibly, the White House press was generally hostile to the report, with the conference marred by an obnoxious CNN reporter who refused to stop her line of questioning of President Trump. The spectacle was...

Rep. Peter King, R-N.Y., had some harsh words for Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., after the latter suggested that state governments should be able to declare bankruptcy during the coronavirus pandemic. ".@senatemajldr McConnell’s dismissive remark that States devastated by Coronavirus should go bankrupt rather than get the federal assistance they need and deserve is shameful and indefensible," King tweeted Wednesday. "To say that it is 'free money' to provide funds for [...] cops, firefighters and healthcare workers makes McConnell the Marie Antoinette of the Senate," he added.

President Trump plans to pare back his coronavirus press conferences, according to four sources familiar with the internal deliberations. He may stop appearing daily and make shorter appearances when he does, the sources said — a practice that may have started with Friday's unusually short briefing.
