April 15 (UPI) -- The IRS rolled out a new tool Wednesday that allows Americans to check the status of their stimulus payments, and tens of millions are expected to have their money by the end of the day. The agency launched the "Get My Payment" web page, where Americans can track their payments by entering tax return information for either 2018 or 2019. The U.S. Treasury began depositing the payments electronically last Friday. The first recipients are eligible U.S. taxpayers who filed a tax return for either of the last two years. For those, the funds will automatically appear...

In the six days after top Chinese officials secretly determined they likely were facing a pandemic from a new coronavirus, the city of Wuhan at the epicenter of the disease hosted a mass banquet for tens of thousands of people; millions began traveling through for Lunar New Year celebrations.

The media tell us China "beat coronavirus." I don't believe it. The Chinese government lies. AEI's Derrek Scissors argues that they've underreported the number of COVID-19 cases by millions. Still, it's possible that China has the virus under control. But at what cost? Most of us in America now practice "social distancing." I've barely left my house in a month. I do that voluntarily. Forty-two states do have some sort of shelter-in-place orders, but most of American's social distancing is voluntary. Not so in China. China's dictators are quick to take extreme measures against whatever they see as a problem....

U.S. retail sales suffered a record drop in March as mandatory business closures to control the spread of the novel coronavirus outbreak depressed demand for a range of goods, setting up consumer spending for its worst decline in decades. The report from the Commerce Department on Wednesday came as millions of Americans have been thrown out of work, and strengthened economists' conviction that the economy is in deep recession. States and local governments have issued "stay-at-home" or "shelter-in-place" orders affecting more than 90% of Americans to curb the spread of COVID-19, the respiratory illness caused by the virus, and abruptly...

President Trump on Tuesday met with a handful of recovered coronavirus patients who traveled from all over the country, including from states with stay-at-home orders, to meet with him. Some of them had taken hydroxychloroquine, the anti-malarial drug the president has been touting. Mr. Trump asked the patients to discuss their experience with the drug, if they took it. Some patients have anecdotally said it has helped them, although clinical trials about the effectiveness and risks of taking the drug have yet to be completed. One of the participants at Tuesday's roundtable was a Democratic state representative, Karen Whitsett, who...

Researchers are working as quickly as science will allow to determine whether hydroxychloroquine, a decades-old malaria drug touted by President Donald Trump as a potential “game changer” in curtailing the Covid-19 pandemic, is effective in fighting the coronavirus. Federal health regulators have fast-tracked approvals for coronavirus research, allowing scientists across the nation to skip through months of red tape on potential treatments and vaccines for the deadly virus. On March 24, researchers at NYU Langone launched one of the nation’s largest hydroxychloroquine studies and enrolled their first patient 10 days later. It’s one of more than a dozen formal studies...

Did the World Health Organization make the coronavirus pandemic more likely? Undeniably. On Tuesday, President Trump criticized the international health agency for “severely mismanaging and covering up the spread of the coronavirus,” and halted U.S. funding to it. The president could have added: The World Health Organization has been the Chinese Communist Party’s useful idiot. It has repeated Beijing’s claims despite contrary evidence, withholding the information the world needed to stop the virus’ rapid spread. The WHO’s actions—or rather inaction—proves its culpability in the coronavirus pandemic. Our organization recently compiled this timeline in a new report that demonstrates how the WHO...

...Regardless of the epidemiological science or governmental initiatives, the “crisis” probably won’t end until the media itself starts running out of money, or has or gotten what it wants. Television networks already have billions in secured ad revenue, but it won’t last forever if businesses are shut down. As for what the media wants, that’s the crippling of Trump and the elevation of a hero to defeat him....Even if Trump survives and the country rebounds, the media and Democrats can do it again. Diseases (most far worse than coronavirus) arise regularly. It’s just that previously they were not promoted as...

"Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy" (Matt. 5:7). There are many ways to show mercy. God delights in mercy, and as a believer you have the privilege of showing mercy in many ways. In the physical realm you can give money to the poor, food to the hungry, or a bed to the homeless. God has always wanted His people to be that way. Deuteronomy 15 says, "If there is a poor man with you . . . you shall not harden your heart, nor close your hand from [him]; but you shall freely open your hand...

If there is one benefit from the pandemic, it is that the establishment news media — which is overwhelmingly liberal and loathes President Trump and his 60 million voters — has finally done something counterintuitive. They consulted an old document long forgotten: the Constitution... now embrace federalism. Members of the Washington Democratic Media Complex have insisted that Trump was a dictator. Yet when the coronavirus hit, weren’t these TV show ponies whimpering that he wasn’t enough of a dictator? Trump rolled clips of cable news pundits dismissing the threat early on. Some networks cut away with great shrieking and pearl...

As we speak, President Trump is speaking to the media, part of his daily Wuhan coronavirus presser, where he stresses that the country needs to re-open. He’s right. In four to six weeks, some businesses might be wiped out. American workers are hurting. And there isn’t enough bailout money that can keep the enormity of the US economy afloat. It needs people to shop. It needs activity. It needs to re-open. The Washington Post reported that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, along with FEMA, is drafting a blueprint for a phased-in re-opening of the American economy, and President Trump...

President Trump announced at the White House coronavirus news briefing on Tuesday that the U.S. will immediately halt all funding for the World Health Organization, saying it had put “political correctness over lifesaving measures.” “I’m instructing my administration to halt funding of the World Health Organization while a review is conducted to assess the world health organization’s role in severely mismanaging and covering up the spread of the coronavirus,” Trump said. https://twitter.com/BBCWorld/status/1250327763656962056?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1250327763656962056&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fconservativeus.com%2Fgop-senators-delivered-a-letter-to-announce-the-investigation-of-the-w-h-o-over-china-covid-coverup%2F A number of GOP senators delivered a letter to the World Health Organization (WHO) on Tuesday, announcing that they are investigating the organization’s involvement with China’s coverup of...

Where’s Hunter Biden? That’s been a question for months. The screw-up son who admits economic opportunities come his way due to his last name and who his father is has become the weakest link of the Biden 2020 campaign. It all started with his son’s ties to a Ukraine energy company, where he was paid $50,000/month to sit on its board despite having zero experience in the energy sector. Hunter was allegedly there to sell access to top Obama officials at the time. This all occurred in 2014 when his dad, Papa Joe, the vice president, was spearheading anti-corruption efforts...

With the release of recent transcripts and the declassification of material from within the IG report on the Carter Page FISA, there is a common misconception about why the intelligence apparatus began investigating the Trump campaign. In this outline we hope to provide some deep source material that will explain the origin, and specifically why the those inside the Intelligence Community began using Confidential Human Sources.During the time-frame of December 2015 through April 2016 the NSA database was being exploited by contractors within the intelligence community doing unauthorized searches. On March 9, 2016, oversight personnel doing a review of FBI system...

Most of the field of candidates running for the Democratic presidential nomination at one point signed on to the idea of Medicare for All, a compromise proposal by Bernie Sanders for universal health care coverage. In a pandemic, people panic, and seek security. Many may think that this event proves the need for universal, government-run coverage. What would that look like in reality? How would Medicare for All handle the coronavirus pandemic?Luckily, we have a real world example that is dealing with coronavirus today: Great Britain's National Health Service (NHS). NHS has long been known for its tradeoff between...

Deputies in Florida say two doctors stole a campaign flag supporting President Donald Trump from their neighbor’s property. Our sister station, WKRG reports 41-year-old Geoffrey Michael Fraiche and 38-year-old Laura Ann Webb-Fraiche took the flag on April 7. Ring surveillance video shows the two driving up to the man’s house on a golf cart with at least two children with them, according to deputies. The report says Fraiche and Webb-Fraiche used a ladder to take down the man’s Trump campaign flag.

It’s the question on everyone’s mind as unemployment claims skyrocket and retail sales crater. Is it time yet to bring the American economy out of its induced coma? The answer, according to today’s Politico/Morning Consult poll, is a big no. By an 81/10 margin, Americans don’t want to stop social-distance policies as long as the threat of the COVID-19 infection remains acute. The problem, however, is the either/or nature of the question — and the ambiguity of “social distancing” in this context: As Trump prepares to restart the nation’s economic engine — which was abruptly cut a month ago as...

According to Queen guitarist and armchair epidemiologist Brian May, the coronavirus outbreak should be blamed squarely on meat eaters. “This pandemic seemed to come from people eating animals, and it’s becoming more well known that eating animals is not the greatest thing for our health,” the 72-year-old tells NME. “We’ve seen more of the effects of how eating animals has brought us to our knees as a species,” he continues. “I think it’s time to re-examine our world in a way that doesn’t abuse other species.” May, who recently converted to veganism in January, tells the music news site that...
