Andrew Cuomo looks like he’s ready for action - at a Jersey Shore night club. The governor set the internet on fire Tuesday with wild speculation that two bizarre protrusions seen poking out from under his shirt were actually nipple rings. Twitter and Reddit users furiously debated just what was going on under Cuomo’s official white polo - but his spokesman threw a big bucket of cold water on the idea that the 62-year-old public servant was into some wild piercing. “Of course not, sorry Internet,” senior aide Rich Azzopardi told The Post. The denial came after users, keeping abreast...

An adorable penguin was caught on camera checking in on its neighbours at an empty aquarium during the coronavirus lockdown. The footage was recorded at the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago, Illinois, which currently remains closed due to the outbreak. The inquisitive rockhopper penguin called Wellington, who is one of the oldest at the attraction, was allowed to roam around the other exhibits before stopping to greet a pod of beluga whales.

I'm not sure whether COVID-19, first identified in Wuhan, China, in the U.S. qualifies as a true disaster. Putting the disease in perspective, we might look at current influenza illnesses. According to Centers for Disease Control estimates, between Oct. 1, 2019, and March 14, 2020, there have been 390,000 to 710,000 hospitalizations as a result of the flu, 38,000,000 to 54,000,000 flu illnesses and 23,000 to 59,000 flu deaths. That's compared with, as of March 27, a total of 85,356 cases of COVID-19 resulting in the deaths of 1,246 people. But let's agree that COVID-19 is a disaster and ask...

Tensions are rising in small towns where rich New York City residents have fled to escape the coronavirus hotspot as locals complaining of ransacked supermarkets and crowded hospitals attempt to stop the influx of outsiders. As NYC's death toll hit 1,096 on Tuesday night, so-called 'coronavirus refugees' continued to arrive at vacation destinations across the Northeast, including the Hamptons, Hudson Valley and Martha's Vineyard. The 'coronavirus refugees' have been leaving the Big Apple in droves, snapping up rental properties in quiet communities where the threat of contracting the deadly bug is significantly lower.

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem (Music in The Bible) Psalms Psalm 142[a] A maskil[b] of David. When he was in the cave. A prayer. 1 I cry aloud to the Lord; I lift up my voice to the Lord for mercy. 2 I pour out before him my complaint; before him I tell my trouble. 3 When my spirit grows faint within me, it is you who watch over my way. In the path where I walk people have hidden a snare for me. 4 Look and see, there is no one at my right hand; no one is concerned for me....

George Soros's first major effort to reshape America was undertaking the legitimization of illegal drug use, especially marijuana. Soros initially said his overarching goal was to promote informed discussion of drug policy. But debate and discussion are not his style and were not his objects. Instead, he used his resources to fund think-tanks, foundations, and public policy action groups that successfully muddled public opinion enough to change public laws, making illegal drug use legal. In the early 1990s, the notion of legalizing marijuana in the U.S. was unthinkable and unacceptable. The voices to legalize drugs were marginal and not in...

If he had done nothing at all, President Donald Trump said Tuesday, the American death toll from the coronavirus would be geometrically higher than the low six-figure count he now expects. In other words, it could have been worse. Looking like he'd been visited by the ghosts of hometown past and election future, Trump deviated from his typically ebullient, brash and optimistic style to deliver a somber message much more in line with that of his leading scientists. In doing so, a president who played down the threat of the virus for weeks, mocked critics who urged him to take...

[UK]Army field hospital experts and contractors converted Excel into 4,000 bed mega-hospital in just nine days. London’s emergency coronavirus hospital at the Excel conference centre has been built from scratch over the last nine days in an unprecedented civil-military partnership and is ready to receive its first patients this week. Planning has involved soldiers with experience from Afghanistan and the west African ebola crisis, working in support of health service staff to create NHS Nightingale, which will be the largest hospital in the UK, with 4,000 beds at full capacity. The military team leader, Colonel Ashleigh Boreham, Commanding Officer, 256...

The damn thing should just be imploded after this. – What does one say about the people who run the Kennedy Center, other than they all need to have their sorry butts kicked? Let’s review the timeline of that national disgrace over the last 10 days: – Nancy Pelosi single-handedly holds up a $2 Trillion stimulus bill for a week – thus delaying for a week any benefits going to ordinary people who really needed the money as fast as possible – in part so she can lard it up with a $25 million bailout for the creeps at the...

Abstract Background: Conflicting recommendations exist related to which facial protection should be used by health care workers to prevent transmission of acute respiratory infections, including pandemic influenza. We performed a systematic review of both clinical and surrogate exposure data comparing N95 respirators and surgical masks for the prevention of transmissible acute respiratory infections. Methods: We searched various electronic databases and the grey literature for relevant studies published from January 1990 to December 2014. Randomized controlled trials (RCTs), cohort studies and case–control studies that included data on health care workers wearing N95 respirators and surgical masks to prevent acute respiratory infections...

"There are no libertarians in a global pandemic." So goes the smug punchline of large-government advocates who point to the necessity of collective action in the face of an unprecedented global crisis. Without government, they say, we'd all be dead. Few libertarians would disagree. The hardcore libertarians at Reason magazine aren't spending their days fulminating over the evils of government-required lockdown orders in the face of a fast-spreading, deadly disease. That's because they, like all other sentient human beings, recognize that collective action is sometimes necessary. But here's the dirty little secret: Institutional failures during this pandemic are more indicative...

The Bureau of Prisons on Tuesday announced it will begin confining federal inmates to their cells for 14 days in an attempt to prevent further exposure to coronavirus. The order is part of what the bureau is calling "Phase 5" of its plan to combat the spread of COVID-19. There will be some exceptions to the quasi-lockdown. The bureau is permitting smaller groups for things like phone calls, laundry and showering. Educational programs and mental health treatment will continue, "to the extent practicable." Previous phases of the bureau's plan included the quarantine of newly admitted inmates at all facilities and...

"When [Jesus] saw the multitudes, He went up on the mountain; and after He sat down, His disciples came to Him. And opening His mouth He began to teach them" (Matt. 5:1-2). Only Christians know true happiness because they know Christ, who is its source. Jesus' earthly ministry included teaching, preaching, and healing. Wherever He went He generated great excitement and controversy. Usually great multitudes of people followed Him as He moved throughout the regions of Judea and Galilee. Thousands came for healing, many came to mock and scorn, and some came in search of truth. On one such occasion...

The United States and much of the western world, by utilizing the most draconian of tactics, is plunging many nations into potential economic and societal chaos as they attempt to stem the tide of the Chinese Coronavirus. Relying on dubious and error-prone projections, politicians and bureaucrats constitutionally or statutorily limited in their power, are now exercising near-dictatorial authority in their edicts, which are effectively suspending or terminating numerous freedoms under the guise of protecting their respective nations. All Americans, not be just those with first-hand experience dealing with World War II and its aftermath or living in Eastern Europe under...

Chinese manufacturers of coronavirus test kits and related medical supplies have been told they can no longer export their products unless they also have the relevant licences to sell their products in the domestic market. The move comes after China was hit with a number of complaints from buyers in Europe about the quality and accuracy of tests kits and other products. The new rule applies to all companies seeking to export test kits, face masks, protective clothing, ventilators and infrared thermometers, according to a joint statement issued on Tuesday by the Ministry of Commerce, General Administration of Customs and...

Filling hospital beds and then rationing care is the approach of socialized medicine, which has been a disaster in Italy. A far better approach is to allow physicians and pharmacists to provide early treatment for patients at home to address the Wuhan virus known as COVID-19. If you are a television or Hollywood actor, then you receive the better treatment at home and no one will interfere with prescriptions by your physician. Daniel Dae Kim, an actor on “Lost” and “Hawaii Five-0,” credits receiving hydroxychloroquine for his recovery from COVID-19, while he avoided being hospitalized for it. But Democratic governors...

When historians of the future look back at the 2020 pandemic, the heroic work of Helen Y. Chu, a flu researcher at the University of Washington, will be worthy of recognition. In late January, Chu was testing nasal swabs for the Seattle Flu Study to monitor influenza spread when she learned of the first case of COVID-19 in Washington state. She deemed it a pressing public health matter to document if and how the illness was spreading locally, so that early containment efforts could succeed. So she sought regulatory approval to adapt the Flu Study to test for the coronavirus,...

MITCHELL and YOUSSEF RDDAD | Staff writers Mar 31, 2020 - 9:18 pm The pastor of Life Tabernacle Church in Central went ahead with an evening religious service Tuesday night just hours after city police cited him over allegations he violated a state order to limit crowd sizes during an outbreak of the novel coronavirus.
