How a Police State is Born

The United States and much of the western world, by utilizing the most draconian of tactics, is plunging many nations into potential economic and societal chaos as they attempt to stem the tide of the Chinese Coronavirus. Relying on dubious and error-prone projections, politicians and bureaucrats constitutionally or statutorily limited in their power, are now exercising near-dictatorial authority in their edicts, which are effectively suspending or terminating numerous freedoms under the guise of protecting their respective nations.

All Americans, not be just those with first-hand experience dealing with World War II and its aftermath or living in Eastern Europe under iron boot of the Soviet Union or escaping the Communist/socialist hellholes of Cuba, Southeast Asia or Venezuela, should view these actions with considerable trepidation.

When societies lose their freedom, it is not ordinarily because autocrats or tyrants have forcibly taken it away. It is usually the result of the population willingly surrendering their freedom in return for protection against an external threat. While the threat is oftentimes real, it is invariably exaggerated.

This is what we in the United States are experiencing. The general public has been stampeded by the fearmongering in the media into demanding action from the politicians at both the state and federal level. The politicians respond and do not pause to ask whether these actions will work -- just do something! They do not ask if the financial and societal cost to the nation is worth the unknown and perhaps nebulous return.

This specter of a police state being inserted into America is scaring me way more than this virus. My God given liberties guaranteed on paper ie the bible and the U.S. Constitution are more important than my health.

In its 244-year history the United States has weathered seven of the worst pandemics in world history without the hysteria and loss of liberty and freedom. All indications reveal that the Coronavirus will be exponentially less life-threatening than any of these previous pandemics.

Is the Coronavirus pandemic serious enough to warrant putting much of the nation’s population into house imprisonment, or wreaking the economy for an indefinite period of time, or prohibiting worshipers from attending their churches, synagogues or mosques, or outlawing freedom of assembly and travel, or destroying businesses that have taken years to build up, or saddling future generations with unfathomable debt? The nation is choosing to plunge millions of people into depression, heart attacks, suicide and unbelievable distress, though they are not especially vulnerable and will only suffer mild symptoms or none at all.

This is what a police state is like.

From the well written, to the point, brief article ...

Finally, some articles are appearing asking the constitutional legal authority upon which all levels of government are curtailing freedoms. With all the lawyers in this country, this should have been out front from the get-go. Governor Cuomo (correctly) raised the constitutional issue with regards to RI infringing the rights of traveling NYers. The irony is that he and the other governors do not see any limits to their power to take away the freedoms of the citizens, and most likely would be appalled if such a citizen challenged them in court. (I would predict the courts would side wrongly side with the government.)

One way to challenge is to be arrested and take a chance that a leftist judge (who had no problem with throwing out charges against leftist vandals who tear down non-PC public monuments) will throw the case out. Be prepared for the onslaught of media, a major instrument in drumming up the fear and hysteria necessary for the loss of freedom, to tear down and demonize such citizens who believe their constitutional rights are violated. It has happened already with the pastor in Florida.

The flu bug in and of itself is not a "war-equivalent" situation. That's insane.

But it is a volley in an ongoing 'shadow war' that has been waged since The Donald came down the escalator. It's a war between patriots and the derp state, and it's being waged world wide.

Those paying attention know this.

The Kung Flu is a derp state move. Maybe their last shot. And maybe not.

Trump, patriots, Americans, and freedom loving peoples throughout the world will not lose this. No matter what they throw at us.

Myself included. I’m simple taking a wait and see attitude with this entire mess.

That said........there are plenty of power tripping Governors, Sheriffs and AGs out there feeling strong right now. Only because we are standing down for now and we trust in the President.

Here in Michigan........our Wittless Whiner can act like she’s in control, she can dish out E.O.s all day, but we have the ability to remove her if needed.

If these Governors go to far, they run the risk of riots, looting (Detroit, and the Suburbs) or armed Militias in Northern Michigan.

The same is true in all States......including New York, Washington, California.

We also see that due process is in suspension.

Ordinary citizens who have stayed at home, never been sick and likely never had physical contact with a COVID-positive person are simply assumed to be infected and are denied - Under Color of Authority - their ability to exercise their 1st Amendment freedoms of assembly and religion.
Guilty until they prove they are innocent.
They are likewise denied their 1st Amendment guarantee of petitioning the government for redress of their grievances because these are “rules” not legislated laws.

Just go long. It’s for everyone’s safety.
