Coronavirus: China bans export of test kits, medical supplies by firms not licensed to sell them at home

Chinese manufacturers of coronavirus test kits and related medical supplies have been told they can no longer export their products unless they also have the relevant licences to sell their products in the domestic market.

The move comes after China was hit with a number of complaints from buyers in Europe about the quality and accuracy of tests kits and other products.

The new rule applies to all companies seeking to export test kits, face masks, protective clothing, ventilators and infrared thermometers, according to a joint statement issued on Tuesday by the Ministry of Commerce, General Administration of Customs and the National Medical Products Administration.

Previously, Chinese exporters were required only to have CE certification to indicate their goods conformed to the health and safety standards required for sale within the European Economic Area.

The statement said also that companies must demonstrate to the Chinese customs agency that their products meet the relevant standards of the countries to which their goods are being exported.

The new rules would be tightly implemented and any company caught trying to undermine or circumvent them would be punished accordingly, it said.

Manufacturers were facing a huge hit as they had already stocked up on raw materials and produced large volumes of reagents and test kits intended for export, he said.

“The regulation will not only affect Covid-19 products, but also the reputation of the Chinese in vitro diagnostics industry and have a long term negative impact on the export of medical supplies.”

The Chinese test kits didn’t work, but they were cheap.

A lot of these Chinese entrepreneurs are like wildcatters - they get while the getting is good. It’s impressive they got up and going from scratch so quickly. It would nice however, if they actually knew a few things about specs and quality control before they started selling medical products at a time when epidemics are raging through their target markets.

At the same time, this is an unprecedented time for these particular products - limited supply and insatiable demand. And the window of opportunity might be very short, so you want to flood the market while prices are good (i.e. high), before supply comes flooding in, and everyone starts losing money.

The Covid-19 horseshoe bats in question were found in a remote cave in Yunnan Prov. 800+ miles from Wuhan. They were never in the Wuhan “wet markets.” That is 100% a cover story for the truth.

So there is no question the horseshoe bat was at the very least an experimental subject in the Wuhan bio lab.

Intentional bio-weapon release or accidental release is the only question.

VERY highly recommended interview by A.J. of Jeff Nyquist yesterday. Truly outstanding. Cannot recommend it enough.

Bring Out Your Dead

Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.

The purpose of the “Bring Out Your Dead” ping list (formerly the “Ebola” ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.

The false positive rate was 100%.

At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the “Bring Out Your Dead” threads will miss the beginning entirely.

*sigh* Such is life, and death...

If a quarantine saves just one child's or one old fart’s life, it's worth it.
