COVID-19 comes from a family of viruses associated with severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) and the common cold. Big data and predictive analysis, in combination with artificial intelligence and a variety of thermal sensors, are powerful tools to contain the spread of this epidemic and minimize its resulting deaths. Given that testing for the virus is sporadic at best, the numbers of cases of infection are often very uncertain, and the real danger of the virus is questioned. A decisive contribution to support epidemiological experts could come from data analysis techniques. Data analysis plays a fundamental role, as does mathematics,...

One of the most frustrating aspects of living in the time of Trump is the utterly corrupt nature of 98% of our national news media, and the inability – or outright refusal – of anyone in a position of authority to hold these miscreants accountable for their misdeeds against our society. Journalism as a profession is pretty much dead in America today, as the corporate-owned media outlets have abandoned all pretense of objectivity and discarded anything resembling what one used to refer to as journalistic ethics in a mad rush to attract clicks to failing websites and help bring down...

The owner of a local grocery market just a few blocks from where I have lived for more than twenty years has been infected with the Chinese virus. Steve ******* is the owner of a family run market, a wonderful landmark grocery market operated by the family for more than 60 years The market is special because it stocks hard to get items that costomers request as well as products made locally. It also has one of the very best wine aisles with little placards describing where the wine grapes came from, what prizes were won by the winery, history...

Is anyone here naive enough to think that all of the Democrat governors in PA, NY, NJ, CT, IL, CA, WA acted independently to announce economically crippling shutdowns, all on Monday morning? All for 49 deaths.

Monday on MSNBC’s “All In,” Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) said if President Donald Trump and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) did not start acting now on the coronavirus outbreak as a nation “we’re in real trouble.”

While the mainstream media have been running around yelling thtat the sky is falling and the left is criticizing Trump for not acting fast enough in curtailing the spread of the coronavirus, here's how it will end up helping Trump during his re-election campaign. It will validate the need to continue with his two biggest campaign issues from 2016: building a wall on the Mexican border and getting the United States off its dependency with China by re-balancing trade. He's already succeeded more than anyone would have thought possible with both of these issues. When the presidential campaign begins in...

One of the strangest manifestations of the threatened coronavirus epidemic in America is toilet paper hoarding. Justin Wolfers, an economics professor at the University of Michigan, has put together a tweet thread explaining why people are hoarding toilet paper. According to him, the motivation behind toilet paper hoarding is the same as the motivation behind runs on banks – people are afraid that, if they don’t keep up with others who want the same finite resource, then the resource will be gone. The economics of toilet paper shortages is the same as bank runs. [thread] Even if you’re not...

Covid-19 cases as of 3-16-20 compared with 2018 death rates for the Flu. While Covid-19 has hardly competed its run, nor has the flu, yet for comparison with the flu we have the morality rate for the flu per state in 2017-2018 and total deaths, which I have provided along side the latest Covid counts (3-16-20 ) to the table below. Additional stats on the 2019-2020 Flu season are provided below the the table. During the 2017-2018 season, the percentage of deaths attributed to pneumonia and influenza (P&I) was at or above the epidemic threshold for 16 consecutive weeks. Nationally,...

Mayor Bill de Blasio may soon order New Yorkers to only leave their homes for food, medicine and exercise — a major escalation of the Big Apple’s coronavirus containment plan. De Blasio was asked on CNN Tuesday morning if he had any plans for a shelter-in-place edict similar to the one in San Francisco. “We’re absolutely considering that,” de Blasio said. “We’re going to look at all other options, but it could get to that for sure for the whole country.” De Blasio has been hesitant to enact more drastic measures to contain the outbreak, only shutting down schools and...

I'm sitting here on FR this morning on one side of the living room and my daughter is on the other. She's filing for unemployment online. She's a GM for a restaurant in a mall. The mall closed last night per PA Gov. Wolf's request (orders).Next item on her agenda is getting rid of all the perishables - food banks come to mind. There goes her quarterly bonus for food costs. So my daughter, gainfully employed since age 15, is now unemployed for the first time in her life. She is now a statistic that Rats love. Anything to hurt Trump.

The Buffalo Bills have acquired wide receiver Stefon Diggs from the Minnesota Vikings for multiple draft choices, including a first-round pick, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter. Buffalo is sending four picks to Minnesota -- a first, fifth and sixth in 2020 and a fourth in 2021 -- while also getting a 2020 seventh-rounder back from the Vikings. Diggs had 63 catches for 1,130 yards and six touchdowns in 2019, coming off a career-best 102 catches in 2018. Diggs, 26, is in the second year of a five-year, $72 million contract. Editor's Picks Vikings are the big winner of Stefon...

A friend tweeted from Ireland (in time for St. Patrick's Day), blaming President Trump for the major decline in the value of stocks. This same friend credited Barack Obama's economic policies when the Dow Jones Industrial Averages approached 30,000. This -- and more -- is part of our political, economic and medical divide with mixed messages coming from supposed professionals, amateurs and people who don't know what they are talking about. According to Dictionary.com, "panic" is "a sudden overwhelming fear, with or without cause, that produces hysterical or irrational behavior, and that often spreads quickly through a group of persons...

"Hallowed be Thy name" (Matt. 6:9). Sound theology that results in holy living hallows God’s name. We have learned that hallowing God's name requires setting it apart from everything common, and giving Him first place in our lives. That starts with believing He exists. Hebrews 11:6 says, "He who comes to God must believe that He is." Beyond mere belief, you must also know the kind of God He is. Many people who claim to believe in God aren't hallowing His name because they have erroneous concepts of who He is. The Israelites thought they were worshiping the true God...

Scientists and senior doctors have backed claims by France’s health minister that people showing symptoms of covid-19 should use paracetamol (acetaminophen) rather than ibuprofen, a drug they said might exacerbate the condition. The minister, Oliver Veran, tweeted on Saturday 14 March that people with suspected covid-19 should avoid anti-inflammatory drugs. “Taking anti-inflammatory drugs (ibuprofen, cortisone . . .) could be an aggravating factor for the infection. If you have a fever, take paracetamol,” he said. His comments seem to have stemmed in part from remarks attributed to an infectious diseases doctor in south west France. She was reported to have...

Happy St Patrick's Day. Enslaved by the Irish, he escaped to freedom. Yet he came back to the Irish to preach the gospel which sets sinners free to live with real hope--- that no virus can steal away. Also my wife's birthday so this day is also St Karen's day. How blessed is every believer in Christ to be known as a saint before God, our Father. In Jesus, He has dressed me up in "garments of salvation and a robe of righteousness" (which today is green 😄 )

OK, here are my questions. We had a perfect petri-dish coronavirus disease (COVID-19) experiment with the cruise ship “Diamond Princess”. That’s the cruise ship that ended up in quarantine for a number of weeks after a number of people tested positive for the coronavirus. I got to wondering what the outcome of the experiment was. So I dug around and found an analysis of the situation, with the catchy title of Estimating the infection and case fatality ratio for COVID-19 using age-adjusted data from the outbreak on the Diamond Princess cruise ship (PDF), so I could see what the outcomes...

I’m already sick and tired of the Dems current plot to take down the President – along with the rest of American. The most recent ploy of accusing the president of single handedly bringing the Wuhan coronavirus down on the country is brought to you by the same Deep State types who previously advanced the Russia, Russia, Russia hoax and the Ukrainian hoax. They are operating under the Vietnam war era combat belief that they have to destroy the town in order to save it. So I leave that aside to celebrate the previously joyful St. Patrick’s Day.So here, for...

In its quest to be more lethal than America’s adversaries, the Marine Corps is rolling out a new grenade launcher. The M320A1 has a range of 150 meters on a single target, which might be a window, and a 350-meter maximum range on an area target, according to The Washington Times. The new grenade launcher can be used by itself or mounted onto another weapon, such as the M27 rifle.
