Scripted television is trying to normalize and celebrate abortion but a recent reality dating show provided the truth: abortion hurts women. On the Netflix dating show Love Is Blind, contestants “date” by having conversations with a wall (physical, not emotional) between them. After getting engaged, they get to meet! In episode two “Will You Marry Me” (yes, they get engaged that fast), released on February 13, contestant Amber opens up to Barnett on a date about how the abortion she had after being pressured by her former boyfriend still hurts her today. AMBER: It was really the hardest thing I’ve...

Sonoma County public health officials Monday followed in the footsteps of several other Bay Area governments dealing with the coronavirus, declaring a public health emergency while confirming the existence of a second patient diagnosed with the illness. But Sonoma County officials have diverged sharply in another way from their counterparts in other places, refusing since last week to identify the local hospital or hospitals that are treating coronavirus patients. Barbie Robinson, head of the county’s Department of Health Services, has cited the federal law meant to guard patient privacy as the cause for withholding the information in conversations with Sonoma...

Mick Mulvaney, President Trump’s third and least powerful chief of staff, was replaced Friday by North Carolina Rep. Mark Meadows, an announcement Trump made in an evening tweet. Trump named Mulvaney special envoy to Northern Ireland after a 14-month tenure... Meadows, one of the most conservative members of the House since 2013, has been a staunch Trump defender and leading surrogate during the recent impeachment. Meadows was one of the most disruptive members of Congress during the rise of the tea party, filing a motion to remove Republican House Speaker John A. Boehner in 2015 that helped lead to his...

Former British spy and author of the junk Trump-Russia dossier, Christopher Steele, defended his unconfirmed trash report on candidate Donald Trump. The former British spy inflicted upon America the Russia scam that derailed the Trump administration for three years. Steele, who spoke at Oxford University today, says he will not cooperate with William Barr and John Durham. There is currently a criminal referral on Steele for lying to congressional investigaters. The Daily Caller reported: “I stand by the integrity of our work, our sources and what we did,” Steele said at the Oxford Student Union. Steele’s glowing self-assessment is in...

The Bixby Center for Global Reproductive Health is known for its population control agenda that is being advanced by programs that train thousands of new abortionists. One of those programs is an online video training program called “Innovating Education in Reproductive Health.” This online program has produced several tutorial video series on such topics as the following: * Abortion Course: Week by Week * Abortion Course: By Track * LARC Insertion and Removal Series Each series features several videos that teach or explain various aspects of surgical and chemical abortions and long-acting birth control. NEW JERSEY — More retailers are leaving the state – leaving more than 1,200 layoffs in their wake as New Jersey continues to deal with what's been called a nationwide "retail apocalypse." At least 24 stores also have announced in recent days that they're planning to close very soon. The news comes after a number of major national chains had already announced closings in New Jersey and elsewhere (see lists below). Many of them are popular chains, too, that either ran into bankruptcy or decided to downsize stores "in order to preserve the whole company and save the jobs of...

The US government has banned an electric shock machine that is used to zap children and young adults with special needs in a school outside Boston – the only institution in the world known to practice the controversial punishment “treatment”. Sanders shifts focus to Michigan as Warren drops out – as it happened Read more The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has taken the extremely rare move of imposing a total ban on the production and use of the electric shock machines, known as electrical stimulation devices. It said the ban – only the third such comprehensive prohibition of...

Of course, the explanation for her loss must be sexism. Elizabeth Warren cannot believe that she was defeated by the campaigns of Joe Biden or Bernie Sanders — she insists, instead, that she was defeated by their testes. We sympathize, truly. It is difficult to believe, and must be tough to accept, that any barely competent political operation could be defeated by the steadiness and freshness of Joe Biden or by the suavity and wide-ranging appeal of Bernie Sanders. And Senator Warren likes to think of herself as more than barely competent but omnicompetent, competence personified — “competence incarnate,” as...

When the U.S. Supreme Court decriminalized abortion with its landmark 1973 Roe v. Wade ruling, those who supported abortion took a moment to celebrate, then immediately got to work opening new abortion facilities nationwide. But by 1992, the members of the Abortion Cartel realized they had a problem. That year, one of their own, Dr. David A. Grimes, published an often-cited article called “Clinicians Who Provide Abortions: The Thinning Ranks.” He bemoaned the fact that the number of abortion facilities nationwide was not increasing as they had hoped. The reason for that was because those who conducted abortions were aging,...

Two silver plaques showing Saint Peter and Saint Paul, late 6th century.I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City with my daughter. It had been about 25 years since I had last visited, and I didn't remember very much about it. One thing that I definitely did not recall from two-and-a-half decades ago was the small but outstanding late Roman / Byzantine collection. For once, I was able to take some fairly high-quality photos, so I figured I would share a few highlights. To begin with, the two silver plaques shown above...

In the #MeTooMaybe hoopla over the former vice president’s hair-sniffing and hand-slipping and personal space-invading, much cataloguing of Joe Biden’s peccadillos has emerged — for example, in Jonah Goldberg’s new column. It’s a handy summary. But missed in these lists is a deeply troubling — I guess the right word is “lie.” It is one that Biden contrived — or at least perpetuated — over a deeply painful event: the death of his first wife and daughter. The lie hides in plain sight, amongst all the other oddball anecdotes (like his vowing to use his rosary beads as a choking...

El Centro Border Patrol (ELC) credits the new border wall to a decrease in total apprehensions. Apprehensions dropped from 15,519 to 9,696 from the previous fiscal year-- a 36 percent decease. In total, during fiscal year 2020 the ELC processed 617 unaccompanied undocumented children, 733 families, and 8,316 single adults. The agency says each category has decreased substantially since the new border wall project and new policies have been implemented.

Sacramento County Sheriff deputies and Rocklin Police, some wearing protective gloves, converged on a residential street Thursday as a sheriff’s helicopter circled overhead, ordering people to get inside. People who live there were unclear why. Officers eventually let them come and go from their homes. It was later learned that the first California coronavirus patient to die from the illness lived on this block. The Placer County Health Department issued a brief statement shortly after the police presence, stating: “Law enforcement partners are currently responding to enforce a health officer’s order. We cannot share any additional information to protect patient...

Officials: 'Chelsey Nelson is likely to succeed on her claim'WASHINGTON (ChurchMilitant.com) - The Department of Justice (DOJ) is protecting a young female photographer from having to participate in same-sex "weddings" against her conscience. The DOJ filed a "Statement of Interest" in federal court on Thursday explaining that a law in Louisville, Kentucky violates the U.S. Constitution by compelling local Chelsey Nelson to photograph gay weddings. The U.S. brief explains that Nelson "is likely to succeed on her claim that requiring her to photograph weddings against her conscience constitutes government-compelled speech that violates the Free Speech Clause of the First Amendment,"...

The federal government on Wednesday filed a condemnation complaint to survey 104 parcels of land owned by the City of Laredo, up and down the Rio Grande, in order to assess where exactly the border wall should go. Maps included in the lawsuit outline in red the “proposed project area” for the wall... As just compensation for this expansive taking and condemnation, the federal government is offering its standard $100 to access the land. The 104 parcels total about 982 acres, according to the lawsuit. This legal action stems from City Council’s decision in January to deny the feds access...

Is Trump the New Constantine? Blaise Joseph's article comparing Donald Trump to the Roman Emperor Constantine was first published in MercatorNet on March 26, long before he clinched the Republican nomination and went on to defeat Hillary Clinton. At the time, it seemed audacious and improbable. Now it seems prophetic. Christians are unable to speak freely. Religious freedom is under attack. Society is materialistic and immoral. Western civilisation is facing huge threats, from within and without. And apparently the one powerful emerging leader is no saint. You’re thinking America 2016? No. Rome 312.The leader is Constantine, who is vying to become...
