Democratic operative Tara McGowan is denying that her high-profile liberal firm ACRONYM played a role in the Monday evening caucus debacle, claiming that her firm was merely an investor in the company Shadow Inc., which developed the app at the center of the controversy. But internal company documents, a source close to the firms, and public records show a close and intertwined relationship between Acronym and Shadow. In addition, ahead of the caucuses, questions swirled inside Shadow over the company’s ability to deliver a quality product, and there was concern from at least one staff member that senior leaders of...

The private report said 291,000 total jobs were added, the best mark since 2015. Many Wall Street analysts projected a growth of about 150,000 jobs. Wednesday's report said the greatest gains were reported in the leisure and hospitality industry (96,000), education and health services (70,000) and business and professional services (49,000). (Washington, DC) – Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton made the following statement regarding the Senate’s vote to acquit President Donald Trump: Congratulations to President Trump on the overwhelming vote by the U.S. Senate to acquit him and reject the baseless impeachment charges against him. Thankfully, the U.S. Senate rejected this act of tyranny by the Pelosi-Schiff coup cabal that controls the House of Representatives. Today is “Vindication Day” for the President, the rule of law and the Constitution. Senate Majority Leader McConnell and the President’s defense team deserve thanks for limiting the damage to our Republic by successfully combating...

WASHINGTON, D.C.—As President Trump began addressing the nation Tuesday evening, he said, "Good evening" to the camera, drawing an immediate flurry of fact checks from publications all across the country. The New York Times pointed out that the meaning of the phrase was vague and that Trump could have meant any one of several things by the statement. Finally, they concluded that since Trump stubbornly insists on existing in our plane of reality, the statement that the evening was "good" in any way couldn't possibly be true. CNN, meanwhile, fact-checked the concept of "good" altogether. "Hold it right there," one...

If Sen. Mitt Romney (R-Utah) had an ulterior motive for his decision to vote to convict President Trump for abuse of power, he's doing a good job of hiding it. In an interview with The Atlantic, Romney was asked about a speculative story published by The Washington Examiner, which suggested his bipartisan behavior during the Senate impeachment trial was part of a plan to run for president in 2024. Romney, people told the Examiner, was trying to establish himself as the star of the Republican old guard should Trump fail in the 2020 election. That apparently got Romney right in...

President Donald Trump was gone, the House lights were dimming, and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi looked up to her friends and family in the gallery overhead. She held up the speech she had shredded behind Trump’s back, on live television. She put her hand to her heart, dipped her head and gave a little bow. The moment showcased Pelosi’s sharper, less-restrained approach to the nation’s 45th president at the bitter end of the impeachment saga she led. Now, she’s leading House Democrats out of impeachment’s shadow, through regular legislative business and toward Election Day in November. And though there’s no...

On the first of two articles of impeachment, Republican Mitt Romney of Utah voted to convict Trump, along with all Democrats and independents. Trump is expected to be acquitted in the vote on the second article, obstruction of Congress, in a party-line vote with all Republicans voting to acquit and all Democrats voting to convict

SNIP No candidate spent more on private flights last quarter than Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), who paid roughly $1.2 million to Apollo Jets LLC, a luxury charter service based in New York. That’s more than three times what he spent on private flights in the second and third quarters of the year combined. He paid $23,200 to the Vermont-based carbon offsets provider Native Energy, keeping in line with a pledge his campaign made last year to offset all travel-related carbon emissions. SNIP Not far behind him was former Vice President Joe Biden, who spent more than $1 million on private...

Economists and analysts still caution that the full economic fallout depends on how well China can ultimately contain the outbreak and on whether the return to work—especially for migrant laborers, who make up a substantial part of China’s manufacturing workforce—can be managed smoothly. But most expect Chinese growth in the first quarter of the year to slide sharply, before rebounding later in the year to finish not much worse than the 6 percent increase in GDP China posted last year. Within China, the outbreak and the government’s response—essentially firewalling off nearly 100 million people in central Hubei province, where the...

Mar 3, 2016 -- At a speech in Salt Lake City, Utah, 2012 Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney laid out a scathing critique of GOP front-runner Donald Trump. “Dishonesty is Trump’s hallmark,” he said. The former Massachusetts governor called Trump a phony and said, “if we Republicans choose Donald Trump as our nominee, the prospects for a safe and prosperous future are greatly diminished.”
