Massachusetts Catholic bishops are urging people to stand up against the push to legalize abortions up to birth in their state. The Boston Pilot reports the Massachusetts Catholic Conference hopes to raise awareness about the radical pro-abortion legislation this weekend through bulletin inserts and other educational efforts. Massachusetts could become the next New York state if state House Bill 3320/Senate Bill 1209 pass the state legislature. Nicknamed the R.O.E. Act, the legislation would legalize abortions for basically any reason up to birth. Underperforming presidential candidate Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D., Mass.) has portrayed herself as a bipartisan dealmaker by taking credit for sponsoring bills she ultimately voted against. Job openings plunged to their lowest level in nearly two years as hiring surged in November and the employment market got tighter, the Labor Department reported Friday. Total vacancies tumbled by 561,000 to 6.8 million for the month, the lowest since February 2018, according to the government's Job Openings and Labor Market Turnover Survey. Despite the big drop, openings still outnumbered Americans considered unemployed by nearly 1 million. The vacancy rate nudged down to 4.3%.

A study published in a peer-reviewed medical journal is coming under fire for what appear to be major ethical issues. The study, published in this week’s issue of Human Reproduction, involved researchers paying generally impoverished women in Mexico to be artificially inseminated and become pregnant; their embryos were then flushed out, researched, and then either frozen for future use or destroyed.
