A Florida man killed a 75-year-old veteran with his car Thursday, just to see what it would be like to end someone’s life. Authorities have charged 21-year-old Justin Pennell of Hudson, Florida, with first-degree murder after confessing to intentionally running down an elderly veteran with his 2004 PT Cruiser “so he could see what it’s like to kill.” It was Pennell himself who called 911 to report the crime, after the impact rendered his vehicle inoperable.

Police said around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday they observed three 2020 Corvettes turning onto Lovers Lane and accelerating heavily. According to the arrest report, a red Corvette reached 120 mph in the left lane and a white Corvette reached 100 mph in the right lane. The posted speed limit on the road was 45 mph. After they were pulled over, the men told police they were GM employees and had recently left the Cue Time bar.
