Four years ago, the media were talking about a "Libertarian Moment." I had high hopes! Sen. Rand Paul ran for president, promising to "take our country back from special interests." But his campaign never took off. He "shouldn't even be on the stage," said Donald Trump at a Republican presidential debate. Paul quit his presidential campaign after doing poorly in Iowa. In my new video, Paul reflects on that, saying, "Either the people aren't ready or perhaps the people in the Republican primary aren't ready." But Paul says, "We may be winning the hearts and minds of people who aren't...

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem (Music in The Bible) Psalm 11 Psalm 11 For the director of music. Of David. 1 In the Lord I take refuge. How then can you say to me: “Flee like a bird to your mountain. 2 For look, the wicked bend their bows; they set their arrows against the strings to shoot from the shadows at the upright in heart. 3 When the foundations are being destroyed, what can the righteous do?” 4 The Lord is in his holy temple; the Lord is on his heavenly throne. He observes everyone on earth; his eyes examine them....

My home county of Fairfax, Virginia was once a safe suburban area with some of the best performing public schools in the nation. It's now a blinking warning sign to America as it hangs on the edge of complete disaster thanks to unchecked immigration and Democrat takeover of the government. Even with the high concentration of government workers, Fairfax County was once a Republican bastion before it became a political battleground. The Bush/Cheney ticket won the county in a close race in 2000 and then lost it badly in 2004 due to a significant increase in Democrat votes. Fairfax's descent...

After setting off an internet firestorm last week when they apologized for serving lunch at an Immigrations and Customs Enforcement detention center in Batavia, the owners of Lloyd Taco are apologizing for last week's apology and are hopeful they will not apologize in the future. "We take responsbility for what transpired last week but we want to emphasize that we don't take sides," Lloyd Taco co-owner Pete Cimino said Monday. "That's what people did in social and traditional media in the last few days. We respect their right to express their opinions. That's something that makes this great country great."...

Socialist Bernie Sanders just endorsed the bleeding-heart candidate for San Francisco District Attorney who makes President Obama's Attorney General, Eric Holder, look like Sheriff Joe Arpaio. Meet Chesa Boudin. He's the Bay Area public defender and former shill/translator for the late Venezuelan dictator Hugo Chavez who plans to turn the craphole of San Francisco into an even bigger sanctuary for the homeless, drug abusers, illegal immigrants, gangsters, vandals, thieves, recidivist criminals and cop-haters than it is already. Boudin leads a spooky field of left-lefter-leftists running for DA on the Nov. 5 ballot. The cornerstone of Boudin's campaign is sabotaging immigration...

Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) announced on Monday that he would introduce legislation to prohibit federal government pension plans from investing in Chinese stock. Rubio’s bill is a reaction to a fund delaying a tracking decision for an index provided by MSCI Inc.

Kangaroo Court wood print by Will Bullas Some of history’s famous Kangaroo courts: Joan of Arc’s trials England's Star Chamber The 'People's Court' of Nazi Germany The 'Show Trials' of Stalin's Soviet Union All trials in Mao’s People's Republic of China And of course there was the infamous Dreyfus Affair, in which an innocent man was convicted of treason primarily because the French didn’t much like Jews at the time. Which reminds me a bit too much of the goings-on with the Schiff-SCIF “hearings” in which Adam Schiff presumes to serve as prosecutor, judge and jury. He’s free to...

1. The resolution gives authority to the House Intelligence Committee that it has never had before. Prior impeachments have been handled by the House Judiciary Committee. The new resolution directs several other committees — Intelligence, Foreign Affairs, Oversight, and Ways and Means — to continue ongoing inquiries as impeachment inquiries, creating a giant net encompassing everything from Trump’s tax returns to his private businesses. Moreover, the resolution seems unclear about whether the Intelligence committee an continue with secret hearings — a power that Rep. Adam Shciff (D-CA) has arguably abused thus far to disseminate pro-impeachment propaganda. (The text says that...

Gun control did not become politically acceptable until the Gun Control Act of 1968 signed into law by President Lyndon B. Johnson. The law's primary focus was to regulate commerce in firearms by prohibiting interstate firearms transfers except among licensed manufacturers, dealers and importers. Today's gun control advocates have gone much further, calling for an outright ban of what they call assault rifles such as the AR-15. By the way, AR stands for ArmaLite Rifle, which is manufactured by Colt Manufacturing Co. As for being a military assault weapon, our soldiers would be laughed off the battlefield carrying AR-15s. Let's...

An Ifop survey has discovered that nearly two-thirds of French people, or 61 per cent, believe that Islam is “incompatible with the values of French society”. The results are an eight per cent increase compared to a previous study released in February of last year and reflect growing concerns of the impact of religion in public life against France’s traditional secularist stance, according to the study, Le Journal du Dimanche reports. Between the left and right of the political spectrum, there is disagreement on the subject of Islam. More than half — 54 per cent — of the supporters of...

NEWTOWN, Conn. (AP) — Democratic presidential candidate and former Texas Rep. Beto O’Rourke is planning to meet with Connecticut gun control advocates at the site of a 2012 school shooting. O’Rourke is participating in Newtown on Wednesday in a “conversation on gun violence prevention” with members of Newtown Action Alliance, the Junior Newtown Action Alliance and some Newtown community residents.

This week, four of the top candidates for the 2020 Democratic presidential nomination -- Pete Buttigieg, Amy Klobuchar, Julian Castro and Bernie Sanders -- gathered at the J Street Conference to explain why the United States ought to pressure the state of Israel to make concessions to terrorists, why the Obama administration was correct to appease the Iranian regime and why American Jews ought to value the opinions of Bernie Sanders over those of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on the future of Jewish safety. Two other top Democrats -- Elizabeth Warren and Joe Biden -- sent video messages in...

I was sitting here watching an old episode of Andy Griffith with Buddy Epson as a guest star and was thinking about how the plot would be considered trite in todays "woke" society. Buddy was a tramp who was leading Opie down a bad path and chose in the end to remedy that by using himself as a bad example. The stark contrast in light of modern morals is a sad state in my opinion.

For years, the most controversial thing about Lloyd Taco was its prices: $8.49 for a single burrito.

That all changed last week when the popular Buffalo, New York-based food-truck empire served Chorizo Mackin' Cheese and Aztec Brownies to workers at a federal immigration detention facility in Batavia. After receiving a handful of "yikes" responses from leftists on social media, the company swiftly apologized and promised to make amends, only to spend the next few days bombarded with thousands of angry messages from conservatives who accused the regionally beloved chain of disrespecting law enforcement, veterans and America.

On October 5, 1544, Martin Luther preached the dedication of the Castle Church at Torgau, Germany. This church lays claim to being the first Protestant church to be built, as all the other church buildings were converted Roman Catholic sanctuaries. Lucas Cranach, Luther’s painter and engraver, designed the interior of this church, including the pulpit. It is a rectangular hall flanked by two galleries. The dedication also had a motet composed especially for the occasion by Johann Walter. Walter collaborated with Luther on hymns. They were the pioneers of Protestant hymnody. At the dedication, Luther declared, “It is the intention...

In early August, Elizabeth Warren released a plan that promises free internet access to every household in America. As with most Democratic proposals, the intentions are loudly touted, but the costs and dangers are hidden. Warren's ‘free’ internet comes with a hefty taxpayer bill of $85 billion to fund public and non-profit firms across the country. If the proposal were to pass, construction cost overages should be expected. Once established, the federal apparatus will always demand more cash for their budgets. Lest we forget, in the mind of a Democrat, the Government is always understaffed and the need for new...

(snip) O’Rourke, who famously declared during a presidential debate that he would “take” AR-15s and AK-47s, was confronted by a student in Iowa on Friday who described himself as a “hunter” who uses an AR-15. “What about those people who use that as a way to, you know, get dinner, who live down south who don’t really have a lot of options for food, and they don’t have money but they can get their own?” the student asked. The student went on to explain that an AR-15 is “much more efficient” at killing an animal like a deer and how...
