Anyone who’s lived in California will advise you to never leave anything of value out and visible inside a parked car. That’s just an open invitation for a car thief to break in. But now it seems thieves are going beyond ransacking a car’s interior: A San Francisco woman returned to her Toyota Prius only to find the car disassembled and its main battery pack stolen. Multiple reports say that Marjory Kaplan parked her 2017 Prius just down the block from her apartment in Pacific Heights. Upon returning to her vehicle, she found that someone had stolen the Prius’ mid-mounted...

During an interview with the Hill released on Tuesday, 2020 Democratic presidential candidate Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) stated that it is unfortunate that China is moving in a “more authoritarian” direction, but “they have made more progress in addressing extreme poverty than any country in the history of civilization.” Sanders said, “I think China is a country that is moving, unfortunately, in a more authoritarian way, in a number of directions. We would have hoped that they would move toward a democratic –more democratic form of government. They’re moving in the opposite direction. And they are a country that vigorously...

“The blind men came up to Him, and Jesus said to them, ‘Do you believe that I am able to do this?’ They said to Him, ‘Yes, Lord.’ Then He touched their eyes, saying, ‘It shall be done to you according to your faith.’ And their eyes were opened” (Matthew 9:28–30a). Sometimes at conversion, the Lord wants sinners to give a more public profession of their trust in Him, in keeping with Paul’s teaching, “If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved” (Rom....

Palestinian Authority Attacks Gay Rights Activists - They Blame Israel Muslim terrorists targeting gay people is the fault of the Jews. August 26, 2019 Daniel Greenfield Daniel Greenfield, a Shillman Journalism Fellow at the Freedom Center, is an investigative journalist and writer focusing on the radical Left and Islamic terrorism. The constitution of ‘Palestine’, a terror state funded by the rest of the world, declares that "Islam is the official religion in Palestine" and that "Islamic Sharia shall be a principal source of legislation". Sharia, or Islamic law, imposes the death penalty on homosexuality. That’s the way it is...

Hillary Clinton had a relaxing day catching up with a friend on Monday as she continues to enjoy the last days of summer in the Hamptons. The 71-year-old former secretary of state and her pal were seen taking a stroll near Amagansett Square, a shopping and dining area in Amagansett, New York. Hillary looked like she was in vacation fashion in her striped shirt dress, which she paired with a sporty white sunhat and dark sunglasses.

Higher education in America today should come with the disclaimer, caveat emptor. The cost of tuition has more than doubled in the last two decades, with the value of a four-year college degree heading in the opposite direction. The “fix” championed by Democratic Party leaders – a bailout for those already graduated, and “free” tuition for those entering the pipeline – will only make matters worse. A part of this long-developing problem is simply supply and demand; the overabundance of bachelor’s degrees in the market means they are worth less in the eyes of employers. There also is more talent...

The government has asked the Queen to suspend Parliament just days after MPs return to work in September - and only a few weeks before the Brexit deadline. Boris Johnson said a Queen's Speech would take place after the suspension, on 14 October, to outline his "very exciting agenda". But it means the time MPs have to pass laws to stop a no-deal Brexit on 31 October would be cut. House of Commons Speaker John Bercow said it was a "constitutional outrage". The speaker, who does not traditionally comment on political announcements, continued: "However it is dressed up, it is...

Getting PBS Hate Out of the Classroom Sesame Street. Masterpiece Theater. Hamas. August 27, 2019 Daniel Greenfield Daniel Greenfield, a Shillman Journalism Fellow at the Freedom Center, is an investigative journalist and writer focusing on the radical Left and Islamic terrorism. Every time that there is any talk of cutting the PBS budget, the massive organization rolls out Sesame Street as its puppet shield. Cutting the PBS budget is tantamount to killing Grover, Elmo, and Big Bird. Except it isn’t Republicans who have been killing Big Bird. The greed of PBS executives was doing that. While PBS has plenty...

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem (Old Testament) 2 Kings 21 Josiah Renews the Covenant 23 Then the king called together all the elders of Judah and Jerusalem. 2 He went up to the temple of the Lord with the people of Judah, the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the priests and the prophets—all the people from the least to the greatest. He read in their hearing all the words of the Book of the Covenant, which had been found in the temple of the Lord. 3 The king stood by the pillar and renewed the covenant in the presence of the Lord—to follow...

The Socialists Will Help Put Donald Trump in the White House Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren won’t redistribute their votes. August 28, 2019 Daniel Greenfield Daniel Greenfield, a Shillman Journalism Fellow at the Freedom Center, is an investigative journalist and writer focusing on the radical Left and Islamic terrorism. Bernie Sanders has a curious function in Democrat primary battles. He’s the fractious candidate whose radical cult of personality prevents the weak party nominee from facing a true primary challenge. History might have been different if Hillary Clinton had faced a real primary challenger. Instead there was Bernie, a mumbling...

Tropical Storm Dorian strengthened overnight as Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands were warned to brace for hurricane conditions with possible heavy rains and “life-threatening" flash floods today, the National Hurricane Center said in its 8 a.m. Wednesday update. The storm is expected to grow in size and could hit Florida as a Category 2 hurricane by late Sunday or early Monday. Overnight, winds picked up to 60 mph as the storm made its expected northwest turn, and a hurricane watch was issued for Puerto Rico, Vieques, Culebra, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. President Trump declared an emergency Tuesday...

Want to write a puff piece about the fake Indian, Elizabeth Warren? Take a ticket! It used to be that the Boston Globe practically had a monopoly on slobbering, unctuous flattery of the erstwhile Native American, the first woman of color at Harvard, emeritus. It wasn’t enough for the Boring Broadsheet to pretend that the New England Historical and Genealogical Society hadn’t busted her melanin-impaired grift, or to peddle fake statistics about her scam DNA test. No, the bow-tied bumkissers also penned hagiographies of her dead dog (Otis), her new dog (Bailey) and her campaign headquarters in Charlestown (complete with...

VANCOUVER, British Columbia -- At the conclusion of the annual Group of Seven summit in Biarritz, France, U.S. President Donald Trump emerged on the world stage for a joint press conference with the summit host, French President Emmanuel Macron. It was arguably the best performance of Trump's presidency. It certainly bore little resemblance to Trump's stream-of-consciousness rants on Twitter in which he criticizes TV shows and the "fake and disgusting news," bad-mouths countries and former staffers, promotes conspiracy theories and complains about his approval ratings. Trump should hold more of these types of press conferences and spend less time on...

In late November 2016, I was enjoying Thanksgiving break in my hometown on the Columbia River in Washington state when I received an unexpected call from Vice President-elect Mike Pence. Would I meet with President-elect Donald Trump to discuss the job of secretary of defense? I had taken no part in the election campaign and had never met or spoken to Mr. Trump, so to say that I was surprised is an understatement. Further, I knew that, absent a congressional waiver, federal law prohibited a former military officer from serving as secretary of defense within seven years of departing military...

After all my well-founded rants against the Wall Street Journal I find myself tempted to renew my expiring subscription after all. How else will I be able to stay on top of important art world news like this: New Game Plan for a Smithsonian Showcase. When Melissa Chiu was hired to run the Smithsonian’s Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden in Washington, D.C., five years ago, she took a hard look at its collection and found the holdings were strong in modern sculptors like Henry Moore but weak in works by women and anyone living outside the U.S. or Europe… You...

If New York Times publisher A.G. Sulzberger is looking for support from other media outlets for his complaint about embarrassing tweets by journalists for his newspaper being exposed, he can cross Politico off his list. Senior media writer Jack Shafer has no sympathy for that complaint as he made clear in his Monday Politico Magazine article, "Why Journalists’ Old Tweets Are Fair Game for Trump."The subtitle of his story is even more specific and points directly at the Gray Lady, "New York Times editors don’t deserve special immunity from scrutiny for bigoted speech."
