Waste from a nickel plant in Papua New Guinea owned by Metallurgical Corporation of China spilled into the adjacent Basamuk Bay over the weekend, three sources told Reuters on Aug. 28.

1st thing I thought when reading the headline was it probly had something to do with battery operated cars. As I understand it the environmental impact of the manufacture and disposal of these car batteries far outweighs what a gas powered car would ever put out.
