Photos from a recent Strait of Hormuz transit by the US Navy amphibious assault ship USS Boxer showed an 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit light armored vehicle parked on the flight deck, a sign that this warship was expecting trouble in the hostile waterway. The Boxer was harassed by Iranian drones in the Strait of Hormuz last month, and the US says the warship downed one, if not two, of them. Another potential threat in this region is Iranian gunboats, which have targeted commercial shipping in recent months. Last fall, Marines with the 31st MEU embarked aboard the USS Wasp for...

According to its tally, the nine candidates who have secured a spot on the debate stage on Sept. 12 and perhaps Sept. 13 in Houston are: Joe Biden, Pete Buttigieg, Kamala Harris, Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, Cory Booker, Beto O’Rourke, Amy Klobuchar, and Andrew Yang. “Tom Steyer’s campaign announced Tuesday morning that it had hit the 130,000 donor mark,” the website reported. “He now needs just one qualifying poll to make the third debate.” Julian Castro is also close to qualifying, just needing a 2 percent ranking in one more poll, FiveThirtyEight reported. New Age guru and author Marianne Williamson...

Beto O’Rourke said Thursday that he is returning to the presidential campaign trail for the first time since the Aug. 3 massacre of 22 people at a Walmart in his hometown of El Paso, but that the trail won’t take him to typical early-voting state venues. Instead, O’Rourke said he is heading to those places in America most victimized by President Donald Trump. “I want to be the kind of leader for this country El Paso has raised me and taught me to be,” O’Rourke said, speaking to a small audience of supporters and broadcast live on C-SPAN. “But as...

As political Washington mulls what -- if anything -- to do legislatively to address the latest in a long line of mass murders committed with guns, a new Fox News poll has a number in it that is an absolute stunner. That number is 67%, which reflects respondents who told pollsters that they support a ban on assault weapons. For you non-math majors out there, that's two-thirds of the American public! Yes, there is something of a partisan divide on the question -- with 86% of Democrats favoring a ban on automatic and semiautomatic weapons, while 46% of Republicans feel...

The protest against President Trump got out of hand in St. Louis when a Muslim college student from Minneapolis attempted to burn down a Christian school, lighting four fires and endangering the lives of 33 children. Ousted White House aide Anthony Scaramucci said he wants to see a 2020 GOP primary challenge to Donald Trump — and he predicts the president who fired him would lose. “I’m predicting he won’t be the nominee,” Scaramucci said about Trump, speaking on Herald Radio Thursday. He said Mitt Romney could “take on Trump handily” in the 2020 presidential election. Romney has not indicated he intends to make a third run for president. “Once we break the fever and the spell of President Trump we will get a few very, very qualified politicians,” said Scaramucci. Scaramucci, who has recently taken...

Following complaints from the public over the past couple of years, the UK Advertising Standards Agency (ASA) has implemented new rules for television and print advertising. The purpose of these regulations is to eliminate “harmful gender stereotyping†in ads. If that phrase leaves you scratching your head, don’t worry. You’re not alone. In any event, the first two “harmful†ads have been banned from the airwaves. They were from Volkswagen and Philadelphia cream cheese. So what were they depicting? Child abuse? Violence against women? Racism? Nope. One was a shot of a woman sitting in the park next to a baby...

New evidence shows why Steele, the Ohrs and TSA workers never should have become DOJ sources One of the inevitable outcomes of the Russia case will be that the Department of Justice (DOJ) almost certainly will need internal reforms. The first reform is the most obvious, given the unraveling of the Russia collusion narrative: a new set of rules governing when the FBI can investigate or spy on a First Amendment-protected political campaign during an election. The FBI never should have been allowed to sustain a counterintelligence investigation into Donald Trump’s campaign based on hearsay from Australian diplomat Alexander Downer,...

Have women washed their hands of President Trump? There’s certainly no shortage of people who would like to think so and are speculating on how this will affect the presidential election next year. A recent Associated Press story was headlined “Suburban women recoil as Trump dives into racial politics.” Others have pointed to a decline in the number of women – specifically suburban women –turning out to vote in the 2018 elections. Meanwhile, the left keeps pushing a narrative that Republicans are perversely intent on waging a “war on women.”

A Knox County jury on Tuesday declared Eric Boyd guilty in the 2007 murders of Channon Christian and Christopher Newsom. The seven-woman, five-man jury had deliberated since Monday before returning its verdict of first-degree murder in the Knox County Criminal Court trial on Tuesday afternoon. The verdict carries an automatic life sentence for each of the two slayings. Judge Bob McGee will decide at a Sept. 18 sentencing hearing whether those two life sentences should be stacked one onto the other and what, if any, extra punishment Boyd should receive for the related crimes, including kidnapping and rape. Boyd is...

Five people were shot Thursday afternoon in the Ogontz section of North Philadelphia, just 24 hours after six police officers were shot in a gun battle that terrorized the Tioga neighborhood — on the very same street, just over 2 miles away. RUSH: So, I ran across this piece and I want to share it with you because when I was reading this piece, it caused a bunch of lights to go off. One of the things that I’ve been trying to figure out, even though those of you who listen will think I have it figured out, to me there’s always more than what I understand on most things. Even though I think I may have something figured out, there’s still more to learn about it. And this opposition to Trump, it’s so irrational. It’s so obsessive that it puzzles me....

President Donald Trump’s Thursday evening rally in Manchester, N.H., is ostensibly about ginning up support for his reelection campaign. But the state’s establishment GOP class is worried he’ll use the event to do something else: Talk up Corey Lewandowski’s potential 2020 Senate bid. Republican Gov. Chris Sununu has relayed concerns about Trump's controversial former campaign manager to party leadership. Tom Rath, a former New Hampshire attorney general and a prominent Republican in the state, says he’s “not a Corey fan.” Former GOP Sen. Judd Gregg took to the pages of New Hampshire’s biggest newspaper to deride Lewandowski as a “thug.”

Two great inventions sum up the allure of America. The first is valet parking. Go to the most modest downtown restaurant and a guy outside will park your car for ten bucks. It'll be brought back when you leave. You should tip him America is the home of easy. Of service with a smile Of oiled wheels. The second invention, as you drive home, and turn off the main road, is the four-way stop. These are crossroads with stop signs in which i cars take it in turns to move on. The first person to arrive gets to go first...
