Yes, America has a problem. And no, red flag laws will not stop the next mass shooting. Nor is “mental health” the heart of the matter. I am an American by choice. My pride in being an American today is a function in part of choosing to be a citizen of the freest and greatest nation the world has ever seen, and although I may not have been born or raised in America, I am familiar with our history and our cultural heritage. As a result I know that not too long ago, in living memory, gun culture so universally...

Religious and demographic change expert Robert Jones warned Democrats ahead of the 2020 election that the Republican Party has the equivalent of a “time machine” when it comes to winning over white, Christian voters across the country. In an interview with CNN’s Christiane Amanpour on Friday, Jones said Republicans appear to “turn back time” at the ballot box because white, Christian communities show up in larger numbers than minorities. Democrats, he said, cannot count on America's "dramatically" changing demographics to defeat President Trump next year. “One of the dynamics in the U.S. is that white, Christian voters turn out to...

FORT WORTH, Texas There's a new political battle cry in Tarrant County, Texas. And it's for political intolerance. As the 2020 election looms, some Republicans concerned about losing power in Tarrant County which has stayed red as nearly every other major urban county turned blue say there needs to be a shift in thinking. "If a change does not happen soon in the Tarrant County Republican Party, those who oppose the leftist agenda will see the loss of Tarrant County to the Democrats forever," according to a post entitled "Prepare to be Intolerant" on the NE Tarrant Tea Party website.

Scientists have discovered how a tiny worm-like creature with no arms, legs or wings nonetheless manages to perform stupendous leaps through the air. The acrobatic feats of these larvae were first noticed by Mike Wise of Roanoke College a few years ago, and now, in the Journal of Experimental Biology, he and some colleagues explain this critter's unusual trick. Wise studies how plants defend themselves from hungry insects, and one day he was dissecting tumor-like swellings on goldenrod that form around the maggot-like larvae of developing flies. "The larvae get as big, when they're full grown, as, say, a small...
