The full proportions of the debacle that awaits the Democrats next fall is starting to penetrate their complacent disdain and revulsion toward President Trump. Rank-and-file Democrats are so ecstatic at the arrival of a known candidate whose views on principal policy issues cannot be invoked by Republicans to frighten children into eating their breakfast cereal that they have accorded Joe Biden a levitation in the polls. Click Image to Enlarge Mr. Biden is a shopworn, moth-eaten, malapropistic journeyman about whom, when asked to assess him as a potential president, former bipartisan defense secretary and CIA director Robert Gates took four...

Water levels along Lake Dunlap were decreasing all day Tuesday. This came after a spillway gate failed, causing water to push out of the gates and out of the lake, according to the Guadalupe Blanco River Authority. GBRA released new video Wednesday, which captured the "precise moment the middle gate collapsed resulting in the dewatering of Lake Dunlap."

Discussing low cost drug purchasing. team of Internet entrepreneurs in downtown Manhattan wants to revolutionize how Americans get prescription drugs. Their company, Blink Health, has a crazy idea: let customers shop for the best deal... A functioning market requires price signals to provide consumer guidance; but at the pharmacy, neither the buyer nor the seller knows what the price is. In choosing among drugs to prescribe, your doctor doesn’t know how much each will cost you or your insurance company. You can’t find out what you’ll pay until after you’ve chosen a pharmacy to handle the prescription. The pharmacist must...

Sometime around A.D. 60, in the age of Emperor Nero, a Roman court insider named Gaius Petronius wrote a satirical Latin novel, "The Satyricon," about moral corruption in Imperial Rome. The novel's general landscape was Rome's transition from an agrarian republic to a globalized multicultural superpower. The novel survives only in a series of extended fragments. But there are enough chapters for critics to agree that the high-living Petronius, nicknamed the "Judge of Elegance," was a brilliant cynic. He often mocked the cultural consequences of the sudden and disruptive influx of money and strangers from elsewhere in the Mediterranean region...

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem (Old Testament) 2 Samuel 23 David’s Last Words 23 These are the last words of David: “The inspired utterance of David son of Jesse, the utterance of the man exalted by the Most High, the man anointed by the God of Jacob, the hero of Israel’s songs: 2 “The Spirit of the Lord spoke through me; his word was on my tongue. 3 The God of Israel spoke, the Rock of Israel said to me: ‘When one rules over people in righteousness, when he rules in the fear of God, 4 he is like the light of...

After the Alabama Senate passed a bill that makes most abortions in the state at any point during pregnancy illegal, Democrat 2020 hopeful Pete Buttigieg took to Twitter to share his thoughts. “The Alabama legislature is ignoring science, criminalizing abortion, and punishing women,” Buttigieg said in the tweet, which linked to a New York Times article that explained the bill. “Instead, the government’s role should be to make sure all women have access to comprehensive affordable care, and that includes safe and legal abortion.” *** Wednesday evening, Buttigieg also shared a tweet from the Yellowhammer Fund account, which claimed: “#Abortion...

During the 2014-2015 school year, a Christian teenage girl was forced to recite the Islamic conversion creed — the Shahada — in writing for her 11th-grade class. She was also taught that "Most Muslims' faith is stronger than the average Christian." The Thomas More Law Center (TMLC) sued the school responsible, and the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled with the school. TMLC appealed to the Supreme Court, filing a Writ of Certiorari on Monday. "Under the guise of teaching history or social studies, public schools across America are promoting the religion of Islam in ways that would never be...

Axe throwing sounds like fun, but what can go wrong right? You have a safety backstop in case you miss the target. However, nothing is as safe as we think it should be. Watch this axe throwing girl almost catches an axe with her face. She might be related to Thor, her axe seemingly wants to come back to her after the throw. Ok, what really happened was this blonde axe thrower threw way too low and the axe hit the floor. Which rebounded off the backstop and propelled back to the she "Thor". She ducked just in time as...

Today’s Campaign Update, Part II (Because The Campaign Never Ends) I know it’s a repugnant subject, but let’s talk Democrat politics this morning. – First, we’ve had Irish Bob O’Rourke re-boot his failed campaign this week, and boy what a massive fail that has been. As part of his “reintroduction to America”, he live-streamed himself having a haircut and massage! I swear I do not make this stuff up.: Oh, he also appeared with the four nagging, substance-devoid shrews on The View, which I suppose meant that Tuesday’s episode of The View actually featured five nagging, substance-devoid shrews. There, he...

My previous column objected to President Donald Trump and Sen. Chuck Schumer's, D-N.Y., proposed $2 trillion "infrastructure" spending. As with President Barack Obama's "stimulus," the Trump-Schumer plan violates the concept of federalism and bails out states that spend irresponsibly, guaranteeing a future of continued irresponsible behavior by state and local governments. But several of my column's readers insisted that Trump -- a builder and shrewd negotiator -- plans to spend more efficiently and effectively than Obama did under his $787 billion so-called stimulus plan. Respected lawyer and columnist John Hinderaker, for example, wrote: "I disagree: Obama's faux stimulus consisted largely...

Can this possibly be true – Mayor de Blasio is throwing in with the gang that can’t shoot straight? With all the fools and knaves running for Democratic presidential nominee the odds of winning are nearly as good as winning the lottery. Even at that Mayor de Blasio is a long, long shot. Or as the New York Post said: “If you’re not laughing, then you don’t know Bill de Blasio like we know Bill de Blasio.” They proceed to explain the joke: He is both incompetent and crooked; oblivious and arrogant. He won his current job in a fluke...

Let me just say from the start that I love animals, and I’m not just talking about the delicious ones. I drive my wife a little nuts by feeding the birds, squirrels, deer, rabbits, and pretty much anything else I know that wanders through our yard. But our kids love watching them and so do I. Plus, we have a bunch on the inside of the house, too. That being said, I have a lot of issues with so-called animal rights groups.I’m as disgusted as anyone with animal abuse. People who’d torture any sentient creature should have the same Hell...

There is nothing more dangerous, chilling, and threatening to our system of government than the obvious political abuses within our intelligence and law enforcement agencies likely to be uncovered by federal prosecutor John Durham. Attorney General Bill Barr appointed Durham this week to investigate the justification, motivation, and execution of the Russian investigation into the campaign and presidency of Donald Trump. Don’t worry, though. This isn’t going to be a column explaining every nitty-gritty detail and naming every one of the dozens of names involved in this scandal. There are wonderful journalists and hosts like Sean Hannity, Dan Bongino, Sara...

HARRISON CITY (KDKA) — A video produced by students in the audio-visual department at Penn Trafford High School has prompted concern. It was meant to be used as a training drill, should there ever be a real emergency like a shooter in the building. According to the school district, the video was only to be seen in-house, but without authorization, it was placed on Facebook by students. Once viewed, some, like Jim Atkins of Harrison City, thought the person portrayed as the shooter was made to look like a Muslim by wrapping a scarf around his head. “It shouldn’t be...

UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres raised concerns Thursday that a concrete dome built last century to contain waste from atomic bomb tests is leaking radioactive material into the Pacific. Speaking to students in Fiji, Guterres described the structure on Enewetak atoll in the Marshall Islands as "a kind of coffin" and said it was a legacy of Cold War-era nuclear tests in the Pacific... ...The "coffin" is a concrete dome, built in the late 1970s on Runit island, part of Enewetak atoll, as a dumping ground for waste from the nuclear tests. Radioactive soil and ash from the explosions was...
