RUSH: Yes, my friends, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has rebuffed all of the fact-checkers out there. She came out, as you might remember, and compared climate change to World War II. (summarized) “We only have 12 years to stop Hitler! We only have 12 years to stop the Nazis from taking over the world!” In this case, climate change is Hitler (aside from Trump), and the Nazis are all of the things that we are doing to destroy the planet. Twelove years. We had 12 years. Well, the fact-checkers got in gear. (Not the liberal fact-checkers. The Drive-By Media dutifully reported it...

A huge controversy erupted last year when President Trump declassified parts of the FBI's secret request to wiretap former Trump campaign volunteer foreign policy adviser Carter Page. Defenders and critics of the president argued over whether the October 2016 warrant application to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act court relied extensively on the so-called Steele dossier, which was a collection of anti-Trump allegations compiled by the former British spy Christopher Steele on behalf of the Hillary Clinton campaign. They also argued over whether the warrant adequately informed the court that the dossier was, in fact, a work of political opposition research,...

Florida’s honors college for the state system may have twisted itself into a verbal knot because it does what apparently is common practice among colleges — adding a layer of review to applying students who had reported mental issues. This makes eminent sense for college campuses who have been dealing with some tragic violence issues, not to mention the obvious academic reasons where mental issues could impact a student’s ability to be successful. Further, because colleges are legally required to treat students with mental issues, it seems almost imperative they have such policies. However, in the hyper-diversosphere piloted by college...

"Inculturation is an essential condition for a sound proclamation of the Gospel which, in order to bear fruit, requires, on the one hand, safeguarding its authentic purity and integrity and, on the other, presenting it according to the particular experience of each people and culture," he told the Global Times. ". . . For the future, it will certainly be important to deepen this theme, especially the relationship between 'inculturation' and 'sinicization,' keeping in mind how the Chinese leadership has been able to reiterate their willingness not to undermine the nature and the doctrine of each religion. "These two terms, 'inculturation' and...

A strike is looming at Macy’s stores in parts of Massachusetts and Rhode Island. After four months of contract negotiations, United Food and Commercial Workers Local 1445 voted Sunday to authorize a strike if necessary. The union represents more than 1,000 Macy’s employees in Boston, Braintree, Natick, Peabody and Warwick, Rhode Island. Local 1445 said it is fighting for more money for its workers and affordable healthcare, and will move to strike if an agreement isn’t reached soon. This isn’t the first time the union has voted to authorize a strike in recent months. In April, tens of thousands of...

I've never posted a vanity before so forgive me for any boo-boos. A family member (sister) just let me know about some bad legislation that may be coming her way. Several years ago, her husband went through a mid-life crisis and ended up leaving her temporarily for a younger woman who had a 6 year old girl. Eventually, the woman had sister's husband arrested and convicted for lewd and lascivious behavior in front of the child which is a mandatory 25 year sentence in Florida. My sister is getting ready to retire from K-Mart and planned on supporting herself on...

[Catholic Caucus]vHomosexuals In the Seminaries. A Startling Survey In Brazil The survey is not brand-new, its results came out in the spring of 2017 in Portuguese in the “Revista Eclesiástica Brasileira.” But “Il Regno - Documenti” has recently published a complete translation of it in Italian, thus making it known to a much wider public. On a question that is as relevant as they come. The question is that of homosexuality in the seminaries. For several months, among the Church’s leadership, homosexuality has been taboo. It was even forbidden to talk about it at the summit on sexual abuse held at...

Bill Nye wants to remind you of the seriousness of global warming and he's not mincing words. The well known science commentator appeared on "Last Week Tonight with John Oliver" on Sunday and put things bluntly while talking about the Green New Deal, introduced by Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Senator Ed Markey. Nye wants you to know, "The planet's on [expletive] fire." "By the end of this century, if emissions keep rising, the average temperature on Earth could go up another four to eight degrees," Nye said. "What I'm saying is the planet's on [expletive] fire. There are a lot...

RUSH: It’s amazing. The Drive-By Media now understands the concept of tax cuts and tax increases, but it took tariffs and a tariff war with the ChiComs for the Drive-Bys to understand it. I’m being ironic and a little sarcastic. They know it and understand it. It’s just that since the Republicans own mantra of tax cuts, since that is a Republican owned belief… Democrats don’t believe in cutting taxes; Republicans do, and the Democrats know it. So whenever the concept of tax cuts comes up, the Democrats and the media have to destroy it, as they did the latest...

Supporters of Donald Trump disrupted Mayor Bill de Blasio’s press conference in Trump Tower on Monday while he announced a potential $2 million in fines facing the president’s real estate company if it doesn’t comply with the city’s new “Green New Deal” building emissions standards — by 2030. “Worst mayor ever,” read one sign held by a protester as the mayor rode up and down an escalator. Other supporters loudly booed and whistled as de Blasio tried to shout over the din. “This is bull—t,” Juliet Germanotta, 37, told The Post as she displayed an “LGBT for Trump” banner behind...

South Bend mayor and Democratic presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg demonstrated once again that he marches to a rather warped brand of Christian theology. As the Hollywood elite joins hand-in-hand to boycott the state of Georgia for passing a fetal heartbeat bill that bans abortions once doctors can detect a baby's heartbeat in the mother's womb, the South Bend mayor has denounced the newly-acted law as a "cruel attack" on women. According to LifeNews, Buttigieg denounced the law in a tweet last week shortly after Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp signed the bill. "A woman has enough to deal with when it...

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Texas obtained a '206-count indictment' from a federal grand jury alleging that organizers charged between $50,000 and $70,000 'to arrange fake marriages between a foreign national and a U.S. citizen' in order to obtain legal immigration status, KHOU reported. By Monday morning, investigators placed 50 people behind bars. According to the KHOU report, each person wishing to come to the U.S. would pay between $50,000 and $70,000 to arrange a marriage to a U.S. citizen to obtain lawful permanent resident (LPR) status. The fees were allegedly prorated and would be paid...

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio staged a chaotic press event Monday in the lobby of Trump Tower in which he said he will announce this week whether he's running for president. Speaking at a podium steps from the spot where President Donald Trump announced his own presidential run in 2015, the Democrat said he had come to Trump Tower to promote a new city air pollution law requiring skyscraper owners to cut greenhouse gas emissions or face fines. De Blasio said Trump's buildings in the city could face a combined $2.1 million in annual fines if they don't...

The legislation is titled Target Practice and Marksmanship Training Support Act, but is known more simply as the Range Bill. It deals with Pittman-Robinson funds, which have been compounding from ammo and gun manufacturing excise tax revenues since 1937. The National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) Larry Keane notes that the Range Bill “give the states more flexibility in how they can use their Pittman Robertson allocation to pay for the construction of new ranges and expansion or improvements to existing ones.”

A fiery New York Times piece has claimed President Trump is clawing at the "conventional fabric of this country" and "may well become the first American king, lawless and unaccountable." The piece, penned by columnist Charles Blow for the outlet's Sunday edition, issued the dire warning to readers amid the administration's ongoing battle with House Democrats in the aftermath of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s report. "We are drifting dangerously close to an imperial presidency that exists above and outside the rules we thought were designed to prevent such an occurrence," Blow wrote. Blow backed his extreme warning by pointing to...

President Donald Trump has requested to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin in late June on the sidelines of the G20 meeting in Japan, according to media reports from Russia. Russian media reported that multiple Russian Foreign Ministry sources claimed Washington had reached out to Moscow to set up a meeting at the summit, which will be held on June 28 and 29 in Osaka. “We have always said that the presence of leaders at an event of the appropriate level would open such an opportunity,” Sergei Ryabkov, Russia’s deputy foreign minister, was quoted as saying in numerous reports. The...

by Jenn Carter One of Barack Obama's top cabinet secretaries has stunned and infuriated Washington Democrats by derailing their "Trump is Putin's Puppet" narrative in a high-profile interview with CBS News. Former Defense Secretary Robert Gates was asked what reporter Margaret Brennan thought was a softball question aimed to garner a Trump-bashing reply from Gates. She got exactly the opposite. “It’s a favorite talking point for the Trump administration to say that they’ve been the toughest on Russia of any administration,” Margaret Brennan pointed out to Gates. Gated replied, “And in some respects, that’s true. … I think in terms...

Engineers at Purdue have built a flying robot to mimic one of the most expert flyers in the natural world: the hummingbird. Drones wish they could fly with the agility and grace of the biological family Trochilidae, which includes all 357 types of hummingbirds. Boasting the flying capabilities of birds and the hovering abilities of insects, they represent an intersection of flying philosophies that scientists are eager to unlock. Hummingbirds could lead to leaps forward for search-and-rescue drones, commercial filming robots, military use, and any other flying venture that is punctuated by quick, unexpected stops and starts. The Purdue engineers...
